Best pedicure I've ever had. Hon (sp?) did a fantastic job. It's the first time I've had a pedicure that did not smudge the minute I walked out of the salon. Excellent products, wonderful foot massage with a hot towel, lotions that did not cause me to itch, and a price point of $35 per full service pedi will make me return again and again. Yesterday morning, I decided to get a quick pedicure. I stopped at a salon in Robinson near Robinson mall. The name of the salon was VIP III nail salon and Lounge. I got to the salon as they opened and was taken right away. A very nice young lady started my pedicure. Within the next 5 to 10 minutes, I was witness to an extremely rude Salon owner, Jay Humphrey, berate and demean staff for their late arrival to the workplace. I observed him yell and reprimand them in the middle of a crowded salon, full of employees and customers. I was unable to listen to this man speak so poorly to his employees so I spoke up and interjected. I told him that it is inappropriate to speak to people in this manner. He was being rude and a bully. He then called the local police and told them that he wanted me to leave his shop "I am the owner and you cannot tell me how to run my shop.! " Never in my many years of being a customer of salons have I ever witnessed a Salon owner be so inappropriately rude to their staff. I spoke with the police officer after leaving the salon. As you might imagine, the local police are familiar with the salon owner. It is my desire to do something for the people working in a salon. To help them in some manner from being bullied. Hopefully calling attention to this salon owner will keep people from patronizing his salon. I just hope this leads to him realizing what a poor human he is and changing his ways. However, that seems very doubtful. I am hoping this salon can find new ownership. read more

The salon is very modern and clean, and I received a great pedicure, but the customer service was very much slacking. I didn't have an appointment but they said no problem, and it would just be a few minutes. After waiting 15 minutes (with no one acknowledging me sitting there), I was finally attended to. The entire pedi only took 30 minutes, and he did a great job, including a nice little foot and leg massage. The only negative was being ignored at the start. read more

First off, I am not a nail expert nor do I claim to be. However, when I asked for a simple design, that is cute, and a natural color. I wanted a full set with an almond shape. This is not an almond shape. The nails are rough and different shapes, My end result the nails were chunky, crooked and not the design I wanted. For this being $70 dollars, I have wasted money and I will not go back there. They did not seem welcoming, nor helpful with this process. I had one of the males, he seemed aggravated when I said what I wanted and spoke up about what I wanted. He rushed through getting my nails done. I have scheduled with them twice for mani/pedi for my daughters formals. Both times we arrived and were told we did not have an appointment. First time was last spring and luckily the gentleman still accommodated us. Most recently today, we arrived and were told we most likely contacted VIP In Wexford and that they were booked. I knew I had contacted VIP McCurry so I located the call from last weekend in my cell. I went back into see if maybe the wrote the name down wrong and "Ashley" would not even come back to the front desk to check. She was incredibly rude and just yelled from this back of the store. I have had many full sets in the past but never one this bad. I asked for a natural look with an almond shape. I'm not sure what the techs idea of almond was but this was not it. She didn't push my cuticles back and barely prepped my nails for the acrylics. I tried to convince myself that they weren't that bad but I could not stand them. I went back 30 minutes later and asked if they could take them off for me which they refused to do so. They would not give my money back either and were EXTREMELY rude. The nails are all uneven, different shapes, rough edges and acrylic left on my skin. Do not go to VIP they do not care what your nails look like they just want to go on their next smoke break. "vip nail bar" . the receptionist i spoke to was very upbeat and fun to converse with although my nail tech was awful. it is a very clean environment with an array of drinks to choose from. the massage chairs are an added bonus. my only complaint is nancy rushed through my nails and was extremely rude the entire time. anytime i asked her to correct my nails she tried to gaslight me and said that there was nothing i could do it was just the way my fingers were. lexie normally does my nails and they have never looked this horrendous. no thank you. read more

This was my first experience at VIP. I went in for a pedicure and gel manicure. The first woman I spoke to was kind and provided me options for colors. The woman who did my pedicure was rude and appeared annoyed right from the start. She rushed through my pedicure and began painting my toes a color I did not ask for. When I asked for another color, she again appeared annoyed and told me the color I wanted didn't exist. She repeated the same thing over and over and treated me as if I knew nothing about nail polish, or colors for that matter. She then gave me a pedicure, which she clipped my toe nails very short and left nail polish around my skin. At this point, I decided I wasn't going to continue this frustrating experience. I was charged $32 for a pedicure. I paid and left, then went down the street to Envy where I had an INCREDIBLE experience. They changed my toe polish for me and refilled my toenails. i went here cause my normal nail salon wasn't t open and i needed a fill before the weekend...my nail broke within 72 hours and i've never really had issues with braking, but it was in such a short time and barely any stress on my hand during this time. i went in the day after it broke and they said it would be like $30?? AND the girl i had wasn't even seeing if it was the same length it shape as my other hand. most likely won't come again if i'm paying for them to do such a thin coat of acrylic that it brakes and gel polish that fades and chips. Please don't mind my hands, but the chipping, fading of GEL polish?? and the nail that needed fixed is so sharp and shorter than my other nails Update: 2 HOURS later and the nail has come off. i would never recommend this place read more

They definitely need to know and be aware of someone understanding their language and knowing when they talk bad about the person giving them money! My nails turned out OK but the experience was not good. He cut too much on my toe and it's sore. He put the callous remover tool on the ground and let the skin go everywhere. He also shook the skin from the towel, it was gross. I caught him cleaning his own cuticles when I returned from washing my hands and he used the same cuticle tool on my nails. I tried this salon out because it was closer and had decent reviews. It's nice inside and plenty big. The quality of the services was good. My lower rating is based on their charges. I asked for a $35 pedicure from Luke. When it was completed, he charged $55. I asked why the big difference. He said it was for gel polish. $20 extra for gel polish? Come on! And if it's truly a $20 difference, maybe they should let the customer know beforehand. I can't go somewhere where I don't trust them to be fair in their fees. I schedule appointments with her regularly and EVERY appointment, the staff calls me about 30 minutes prior to my appointment asking me if I can either come in early or later. Amy will screw her steady client to fit in a walk-in. So unprofessional and rude! This has been a HUGE inconvenience to me and is very stressful...I work full time and my schedule is VERY full-yet I continued to tip her 20% or more. So today, Amy had salon call me to tell me she no longer wishes to take me as a client. I will happily go to another salon. This salon is rude and not the cleanest by any means. read more

Discrimination complaint: Went to have a walk in pedicure Friday, May 17th at 5:45 pm and took my friend since she needed a manicure. All the techs. were with customers and the receptionist said there was a 15-30 minute wait. I have been coming there since they opened and not a big surprise. I signed in and then my friend, and gave my mobile # to call when they were ready. Another woman came in for a gel mani/ pedi and also did not have an appointment, she signed in after my friend. My friend started asking questions on a specific manicure and if they had samples to see, based from the facebook photos the salon provided. The owner came out into the lobby and ask the lady that checked in after us, what she was looking for. My friend was waiting for information and asked him the manicure information. He looked at us both and addressed me, not my friend, that we did not have an appointment and to leave. I explained we signed in as walk ins and knew there was a 15-30 minute wait. He again addressed me only, that he was busy and for us to leave. He took the woman who signed in after us, to the back to pick a color. Speaking of color, if you are not white, you are not welcome to get your nails done. PLEASE do not use VIP III nails and walk across the parking lot to get your services. This should not be happening to anyone in 2019. Racism belongs in history books and not in a nail spa. #disgusted. read more

This place is just disorganized. We made an appointment for 5 people and we were told that 5 appointments at the same time were available. However, they didn't end up taking the 5th person in our group back until 1 hour later than the rest of the group. During the time she was waiting they took other people with later appointment times. When I asked about it was told that unless you request a specific person you are just on the list and not actually assigned a person. Might as well not bother making an appointment! Then they were really trying to rush through and talk some of the girls out of the nail designs or colors they had chosen. They also charged one person who just got gel polish the same as one of the girls who got a full set of acrylic nails and couldn't really explain why. I had one of the worst nail experiences ever. I've been here before too and it's been ok. However, I picked a pedicure color and instead of telling me they didn't have it, they swapped it out for something else without telling me and it wasn't even close to what I wanted. Then I got a manicure and I asked for a detail on all my nails that they had displayed and not only did he only do it on my ring finger it didn't look at all like the demo nails. After he had an appointment booked so he didn't clean my nails up after at all, so I left with polish all around my fingers. I HIGHLY recommend going somewhere else. I took my cousins and daughter here to get our nails done as a birthday present to one of them. My daughter is 3 and just likes to be a part of the group so I usually bring her with me just to spoil her a tiny bit. I moved from Hawaii where everything is more expensive than the mainland and I took her to get her nails done there multiple times and never paid more than $25 for a gel mani pedi (I get gel for her because if it's normal polish she's peeled it off before we even get to the car. It just lasts longer). Now, we all had appointments for 4:00 and arrived on time. We were not taken back until 4:45. The person at the front desk said that everyone there had appointments for 4 and that they don't have many people working (MAYBE SCHEDULE BETTER ACCORDING TO HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU HAVE WORKING IF THATS THE CASE). My daughter picked her color quickly and was taken back for her mani/pedi around 4:20 and my cousins and I sat waiting patiently at the front and picked our colors. When they picked theirs and told them which ones they wanted, the girl at the front desk walked away and quickly returned and said "we don't carry those colors, you need to pick new ones"... if you don't carry them, why have the samples?? I was taken soon after and began soaking my old set off when I was handed the ticket for my daughters nails face down.. thought it was weird but I couldn't use my hands since my nails were soaking so I shrugged it off. Right after that, one of my cousins was seated behind me and the other one followed her saying to one of the employees that she doesn't want her nails done anymore because they kept rushing her, but every time she picked a color they said they didn't have it. When I could finally use my hands, I flipped over my daughters ticket and was SHOCKED at the price. They charged $58 for a CHILD'S mani/pedi! That got me upset but she already had them done so it was too late to say I'm not going to pay that. My cousin that ended up getting her nails done only got a fill and was given a 10% discount due to us waiting so long. Nice right? Wrong. While the gentleman was doing my nails, he told me how much they would cost and I thought it was reasonable for a full set and a soak off but I asked how much a fill was and he said $40 so I looked at my cousins ticket and saw that it said $45.. I said so why does hers say $45 if a fill is $40 and that's all she got? And then all hell broke loose. All of the employees started yelling at each other in some foreign language and I could tell they were talking about us. He quickly finished my nails and tried to rush me to pay but I wasn't having it because I still hadn't gotten an answer for why we were upcharged. I washed my hands and went to the register where I was told her nails cost more because "they are long and we had to reshape and it took extra time and it's a built in tip" I laughed and called them out. Her nails were barely past her finger tips, they were the same shape as when we came in, she was taken after me and finished before, and you are able to leave a credit card tip therefore they can not tip themselves. I let them know that I knew exactly what they were doing and that I knew they upcharged to make it look like they were being nice giving a discount but really I was paying the normal price for her nails at that point. I also let her know that since she decided to tip herself, she would not be receiving a tip from me. This was THE WORST experience I have EVER had while trying to get my nails done. I have been here before and was unsurprised when I was disappointed to find that not much has changed. I called ahead to see if they had time for a walk in and they said they did. I drove a half hour to get there. When I got there everything seemed fine but the girl doing my nails was rushing so much to get done. When i asked her too mildly reshape then she didn't do much and they are all lopsided. Not a single nail is the same shape and she did not seem to notice. I did not have time wash my hands between filing my acrylics and applying polish and so the polish is bumpy and poorly applied. When I got to the counter I realized I was charged another $5 for "long nails" even though all I got was a refill. This makes no sense to me because regardless of length the refill would have been the same amount. You do not fill the whole nail, just the bottom. The receptionist was then rude when I mentioned this to her. The nails look horrible and will need redone sooner than ever planned because they're so messy and rushed looking. I will never return. Especially based off of how expensive it was for a simple refill ($45). I don't know what else to even add besides disappointed. read more
