Original review: After researching nail salons for a couple of weeks, I decided to book with The Nail Salon. I scheduled my appointment through text and was asked to send a $20 deposit through Zelle, which I did during our conversation. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told I didn't actually have one scheduled. I showed the text messages and proof of the deposit transaction. She explained that because I didn't specifically tell her the payment had been sent, she didn't realize the deposit was from me and never added me to the schedule. At that point, I probably should have left, but since they weren't busy and I had already paid the deposit, I decided to continue with the appointment. The pedicure was honestly very relaxing, and the massage portion was excellent. Unfortunately, the manicure experience was much different. I requested a full set, showed a couple of inspiration photos, and trusted the tech to choose the best products. During the application process, I noticed the nails were crooked and mentioned it. I was told they would be fixed, but the final result still looked uneven and nothing like the inspiration photos. What made the experience more uncomfortable was that multiple times during the manicure, the misunderstanding about the appointment was brought up and framed as entirely my fault, with no acknowledgment of the communication issue on both sides. I'm admittedly not someone who likes confrontation, so after bringing up the crooked nails once, I stayed quiet, paid, tipped, and left. I left disappointed because I had really hoped to find a salon I could return to regularly. The pedicure itself was great, but between the appointment confusion, the interaction during the service, and the quality of the manicure, I unfortunately won't be returning. I'll now need to pay another nail tech to correct the set.

I've been coming to PolishUp for a few months now and that alone would tell anyone that knows me, this place is THAT GOOD. I'm a loyal a** b**** and Gaby has me for LIIIIFE. She takes her time, listens to exactly what you want and delivers every-single-time. She's sweet as can be, too (which is a plus for socially awkward people like me) My toes are always sandal and flip flop ready and I always leave feeling refreshed, relaxed and immediately booking my ext appointment. Jackie, the owner, should be extremely proud of the establishment she's created. It's a modern nail salon with nail techs who do cute and top tier nail designs (if that's what you're into) or hit the mark with a good old fashioned mani/pedi. She's personable, warm, funny, relatable and cool as hell. If you're looking for a great way to pamper yourself a couple times a month, this is where you need to go. I'll be there every two-three weeks until they kick me out. (I'm not putting a picture of my toes because I'm not getting paid for that, just know they look good)

Please be prepared that if anything's wrong, their fake smiles, will turn into a scowling as they argue you down- just to be right and to deny any wrongdoing versus being courteous and correcting the problem! The service was unprofessional, our services were left unfinished, yet we were still quoted full price! When our concerns were raised, the staff became even more argumentative instead of trying to resolve the issue. Henry was the only technician that I've seen consistently professional, and respectful. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff skills and service fell far below expectations. I used to recommend this salon, but after this experience I no longer do. Terrible attitude from the younger nail tech and one of the more mature nail techs. She had a full-blown fit and refused to correct her work. In my opinion their unprofessional attitudes take the whole vibe down! I've since found a new replacement and wonderful salon that is welcoming, peaceful, and consistently does beautiful work. I declined and assumed there was a language barrier which was alright with me. I texted to get answers instead, hoping it would be a better line of communication. I'm not sure why but my simple question turned into an aggressive text pretty quickly. I was excited to find an organic spa, but I think customer care should be at the top of every salon's priority. Note: I've never been to an organic spa and I'm not sure what that meant in terms of product and application. I just want others to know that if you had a weird experience, you're not alone.
