I never write reviews but I just have to say that the owner of this salon is a bitch and for that reason I will never recommend this salon to anyone I know. Just look at her nasty responses to disappointed customers on this site for proof. I was so excited to get my nails done because I think my boyfriend may propose in a few days. I had an appointment at 10am (opening time) and I will admit I was a few minutes late. This is obviously my fault but there was no one else in the salon and they told me to choose my nail color so I spent some more time doing so. This is a big decision to commit to a proposal nail color so I was taking my time as no one was checking up on me. Once I finally found the perfect shade, I'm assuming Crystal (?) came out and asked what I wanted done. I told her that I have acrylic nails with gel on them and I wanted new acrylics with dip. This is when she started freaking out on me. Something must have gotten lost in translation over the phone when I was scheduling the appointment because I told them this prior. The woman kept yelling at me that they didn't have enough time to do what I needed (2 hours). This was my first time having acrylic nails. How am I supposed to know the process and how much time they take? She just kept yelling "tip" at me and I have no idea what that means. I told her that I have acrylics on top of my real nail and gel on top of those. She didn't seem to be open to understanding me and instead wanted to yell at me and make me feel bad. For a salon owner, I cannot believe this is how they treat customers. I was there to give them my business and instead of explaining the process for acrylic nails or offering to fill my current nails, which I'm assuming would have taken less time, she kept yelling the same few sentences at me. It was the worst I have ever been treated at an establishment and I left crying. Will not return. I hope you take time to reflect on your actions. read more

I really needed this moment. I had a long week and have been working over 60 hours. I manage a spa so my days are long and hectic, this spot is it. I left work early and was so excited for my pedi. SO relaxing here. I could sit here all day. I was looking for a small clean nail place. I was able to sit and do nothing while my feet dried. I wanted to share an updated review after my experience today. There was a miscommunication in scheduling my appointment and my pedicure did not get scheduled. But everyone at Nail Lounge by Crystal was so awesome in getting a quick pedicure squeezed in, even though it took longer to get out. They were so nice about the whole situation, and I am so happy with their customer service. I also have been back a few times since my first review and Jenny kills it every time! My nails last well up to 6 weeks without any issues. I had one broken nail, and Jenny made sure to be extra careful with it. Love and highly recommend this place! ******** I had an AMAZING experience here. I have never been at a nail salon as great as this place. Everyone was very nice, it was quiet, and their attention to detail is unmatched. Jenny did an amazing job on my dip nails. I wish I got the name of who did my feet, but she was also incredible! **This is by far the best nail salon I've ever been to...and I've been to A LOT of nail salons in a lot of different cities!** So far, I've had 4 different nail techs do my SNS powder + tips, and they all have done a fantastic job despite each one having her own slightly different way of doing it. They have a HUGE selection of SNS colors that are all high quality, mine almost never break despite being super long. I love the overall vibe inside -- they play cute/funny animal videos, serve wine, sodas, coffee, snacks, and everything is extremely clean and well decorated. I have yet to get a pedicure there, but the pedi area looks super comfortable and relaxing! I'd highly recommend this nail lounge to anyone, especially anyone looking for a high-quality SNS powder salon. You might pay a bit more than other salons, but it's absolutely worth it!!! read more

I got my toes and nails done and it was 100$. Pretty pricey but that's just Austin in general, I really needed my nails done so I did it. They lasted me about 2 weeks but I always keep my nails on longer than I should so I need a fill quickly. They have nice refreshments, chips , lollipops and soda. My sister came here a while ago and the owner scheduled her on the wrong date, we showed up to our appointment and we did not have an appointment scheduled. We were like, it's okay mistakes happen and told her we would call for another time. That evening my sister got multiple calls and voicemails from the owner scolding her. Very unfortunate experience. I now completely understand the bad reviews here. First time here because I moved. I should've gone to my usual salon that is further away and would've been more worth my money. Made an appointment told them exactly what I was wanting, and at the end she told me that I asked for "too much" and she "doesn't usually do this" and "it took too much time". I asked for gel extension manicure and a few VERY simple designs. I don't think that not allotting the correct amount of time for the services I requested is my fault. Much less to tell me that wasn't okay?? I guess I will not be back because that is my regular services preformed at every place I go. I have gotten my nails consistently done for 10 years and NEVER experienced this. They always take the time needed and properly allocate time to each customer. Also mind you the entire time the lady was incredible rude about my nails. She told me that they were horrible and made rude comments the entire time. Also was given a warranty card for my nails that only lasts 4 days. Seems somewhat reasonable but after going to the same place for years, part of what is great about them is they are willing to help when something goes wrong with their nails no matter the time frame. Nails last well over 2 weeks so this was odd. It is fine to have this decision, however, was a little off putting to say the least. Didn't make me feel confident in the job they were doing. The nails did turn out well, however, not the best I have ever seen. And for the price.... Absolutely not. Then at the end the price was more than I have ever paid for nails. I have had this exact same service done at another salon and was charged $65 without tip. Let me just say I paid well over $100 for this experience. The price I was paying is usually what I pay in total for nails AND toes done. Lastly was pressured to tip after pressing the skip button due to my experience. I have NEVER not tipped but was so upset I felt it was appropriate but was still pressured to having her over my shoulder reading the screen and sighing that I didn't at first. I had read reviews and from those prices believe she may have just made up a price for me because of my inconvenience to her. I called on a Friday afternoon and set an appointment for Saturday at 11. When I arrived the salon was not packed and a receptionist greeted me quickly and attentively. I've been getting my nails done professionally at least once a month for the last three years, across the country from Boston to Reno to SF; now living in Austin, I've come here for my last four appointments. Jennie does an especially good job making my natural nails smoother and shinier than anyone else. I typically wait 3-4 weeks between polish changes, and, with a little home filing in between, they usually last the whole time. After having multiple bad dip powder sets done recently I've been looking for a new place to go. Decided to try Nail Lounge because of so many good reviews and I read someone say there was a 7 day insurance on the dip (sounded too good to be true), but I was determined to give it a try. SO GLAD I DID! This place was awesome, so many colors to choice from, they even helped pull out maroon/burgundy colors for me to choose from! I explained to the technicians about how my nails had cracked in less than a week with my last set and I had never had that happen to me before. She proceeded to explain to me the "science" of dip nails and how that can happen. *pro tip: OPI brand is more prone to cracking which is why they don't have that brand of dip powder at their salon* They were very knowledgeable and did the best job I have experienced, probably ever, since getting the dip powder nails. They do give you a 7 day "warranty" card with the date and the techs name. You can come back anytime within the 7 days to get them fixed for free. - if that isn't confidence In their work i don't know what is! I went on a Wednesday at 1:45 and there was plenty of street parking outside. Not sure what it would be like on the weekend.. it was very clean inside and definitely more on the "upscale" side as far as aesthetics go. They also offered me hot tea and a cute mug, which I have been told is not that exciting but I can't stop talking about it. I did not get a pedicure but I can't wait to give it a try!! Trust me, this is the best nail salon I have been to in Austin. I just got home from getting a gel mani and regular pedi and it was the most pleasant nail salon experience I have ever had! I have searched all over Austin to find a place like this and my wishes have been answered thanks to Nail Lounge by Crystal opening up on the east side. I will recommend them to everyone I know! As soon as you walk in, it smells AMAZING. They have relaxing essential oils going in a diffuser and it does not smell like a typical nail salon ... it smells like an expensive spa! The design of the inside is beautiful and pristine. It is very quiet and they have calm music playing to help you relax. I can't believe I was the only one in there because I came in the middle of the day... in a few months they are going to be booming if they keep up their phenomenal service. Jennie did a phenomenal job on my fingers and so did the man doing my toes (forgot to catch his name). They both were incredibly professional the entire time. They really go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. They did a PERFECT job on everything and really took their time. The management at this place is clearly doing a phenomenal job at training their employees to be professional. My one toe nail was broken and he did an amazing job fixing it and I can't even tell it was broken. To top it all off their prices are really reasonable and when I say every single thing in their is pristine and clean I am not exaggerating. Every single item in this salon is incredibly clean. Possibly the most considerate, customer-service oriented, and highly skilled nail spa I've been to. After five terrible experiences at various other nail salons in Austin, I've finally found what I'm looking for. The other salons were highly rated here in yelp, yet always had both terrible customer service and bad nail jobs. I've had technicians laugh in my face when I've asked them to slow and and be gentle with my legs and feet, my gel nails ALWAYS chipped in the 1st week, and it always feels like a factory, cranking out jobs with no consideration for the client. Crystal was lovely and the tech who worked on my feet was perfect. Both manicure and pedicure were flawless, and they had so much patience with me after I decided I didn't like my toenail color after the entire pedicure was done. That was my fault as I picked the color! I had my eyebrows waxed, and since they use hard wax, I didn't suffer any swelling or irritation like I usually do and my brows are perfect. The spa is beautiful, quiet, serene and they take their time. I've been obsessed with finding a place where I can actually ENJOY my time there, as opposed to being rough-handled by time-pressured techs. It's a bit more expensive then others, but what you get what you pay for here! You are pampered and taken care of, in an industry that no lingers cares at all about your comfort. Update: it's been 3 weeks since I had my nails done by Crystal and let me tell you... my nails are still in tact. There is no sign of them wanting to come off either. The amount of stress that these nails have gone through, (water, heavy lifting, traveling, etc.) and they've held up SO well that even my boyfriend noticed! He told me I had to give her a call . I had to get them filled in since nail growth was happening, but Crystal did such a good job, she left a great template for the fill. I've tried going here several times in hope that it'll get better.... It doesn't I went for a gel manicure and it was taking almost an hour. When I told them that I didn't have time to continue, the owner or manager started getting very upset with me that their manicures are an hour and I should've known. All I knew to say was "I'm sorry I should've asked when making the appointment". She continued to talk to the other workers and I couldn't understand what she was saying except "gel manicure" kept coming up in her conversations. Really hurtful. Another time I went with my friend and got yelled at for not wearing a mask when there was no sign and it wasn't being required in austin. I was happy to put my mask on, but i felt I had already upset the main woman there. This is only a few of the negative experiences. Both my nail technicians did an incredible job even though I walked in less than an hour before closing. They still did not rush and the results were amazing. Wow - what a terrible, uncomfortable experience. From the start the nail techs were rude and snippy with me. I asked for guidance choosing a color and when they applied to the first couple of nails and I asked politely if I could choose a different color they were visibly and audibly frustrated (I was so gracious and apologized multiple times!). They proceeded to rush through my appointment and I felt uncomfortable the whole time. I had shown the tech a simple design when I first came in (one small line on each finger) and when it came time to do the design the nail tech struggled getting through one hand and then told me I needed to leave and wrap up the appointment, so she wiped my nails clean. I was then told I had to include design on my appointment and that I was taking too long... even though up until that point they hadn't said anything about not being able to do a design today. Honestly I wish she had just said she wasn't capable of doing the design versus saying all of that and then putting it on me and being so rude. The two other people in the salon had been there before I had even arrived and yet I was the one getting rushed out. Come here if you want to be treated like crap and not get what you asked for. Nothing worse than paying good money to feel uncomfortable and and be treated so rudely. After reading multiple reviews here, it seems like this is a common issue... many people have noted how rude the staff is and how poorly they treat you. And in their comments back they just continue to be rude! No apologies for any of their behavior! Guess they have the opposite of the "customer is always right" mentality, because they clearly think the customer is always in the wrong and deserves to be treated poorly! read more

First off, I get my nails done maybe 3 times a year for special occasions and typically go to any place that has availability. Usually they are loud, full of chemical smells, and not super relaxing. This place was like a SPA...great relaxing music, no chemical smells, the nail techs were AWESOME, and it was soooo clean. And I've got to mention the TV....lol.... I loved the cat videos.
