Wow! I walked in on a beautiful Friday afternoon and was seated within 5-7 minutes. I'm wearing a dress to a wedding tomorrow that has an intricate design, so I asked my technician, Lisa, if she could come up with a design for the nails on my ring fingers. After we agreed on a color, she went to work. Lisa was very kind and did an excellent job on my nails. My cuticles are always a disaster and she tamed the hell out of them! She also shaped my nails beautifully. As you can see from the picture, the design she came up with on the spot and meticulously painted came out amazing!! Salon was spacious and pretty, there was a constant steady flow of customers, and each tech uses separately packaged and sterilized tools. Free parking! The only downside is the price. No chip is $32, design is an extra $5. I almost knocked off a star, but my nails look so epic I decided not to ;) read more

Probably the worst nail spot I've been to. Never going again. Definitely would not recommend. I asked for long stiletto and got stubby little things for nails. Not only that but not one but 2 nails broke about 10 mins after leaving the salon. Charged me 68$ for them just for them to break 10 mins after and look like that. My boyfriend also lost his debit card in the salon, and they told him no, they didn't find it even tho it was sitting flat on their chair in one of the stations. He literally had to walk back in and look himself because they just kept denying that his card was left there. They claimed that they had already given it to him. Worst service and even worse nails. I was leaving town for a wedding the next day so, I went to the first salon I came across for a regular manicure. They tried to up sell me which, is always annoying. The technician did not seem to know what to do with a sheer color and kept layering it on so thick it would never dry, she nicked my cuticle which, bled and when I pointed that out she just added another layer. There was no top coat and no lotion or hand massage. I should have complained to management but, I just wanted to get out there. read more

I can't comment on the actual services , since they ignored me for 20 minutes. I walked in and they told me to choose a color from "the basket." This was disorganized and the labels were just characters and indecipherable. I sat down and five minutes later, a woman led me to a pedicure chair and told me to "sit down." I was then completely ignored for 15 minutes until I got up and left. This place came highly recommend and it was disappointing that they neither wanted or needed my business.. The absolute worst place and horrible customer service. I have gone to many nail salons in the city and have never had such an awful experience as I've had here. Came in less than a week ago to get my nails filled and get a simple gel polish on top. Ever since then two nails have broken and one has cracked. I've gone in three times and every single time I stand there waiting to even be asked if I need help and every time they tell me they do not have time to help me. That I can't make an appointment. I wanted to like this place because it was so close, and I heard good things. The service was pretty bad, my pedicure was very mediocre and smudged and my acrylic manicure was done with little effort or attention to detail. There are dust spots on my nails because the guy didn't use a towel or clean my hands well enough before applying polish. No base coat. The no-chip machine was also dirty. I had to tell the manicurist more than once that my nails were not evenly filed. The polish was applied far enough from my cuticles that it looks like it's already grown out for a week. I got home and saw there was still a bunch of polish left on my skin. In the end, I paid $63 for an acrylic set and pedi, and I've paid a lot less for a better job. Major disappointment. read more

I've been seeing TENNI at Nails Alert for almost 5 years. My nails have never been better! I am a hairdresser and am very tough on my nails while I work. My gel nails always hold up well and I'm typically able to go 3 weeks in between fills. Tenni is quick and does an excellent job with nail art, her pedicures are heavenly too! I have been going to this nail salon getting my nails done by different people for a year and a half now. I went in one day and asked for a French manicure overlay with no chip polish and a pedicure with no chip polish. First they sat me down at the pedicure bowl, had me put my feet in and everything for a little shy of 10minutes then said "sorry can you come sit to get your nails done now the person who was about to do it for you forgot they had a client". I told them okay and Sat down to get my nails done. It was a guy doing them. But then he switched and had the manager "Kristine" start doing my nails when it was time to do the nail painting. She usually is at the front desk and doesn't take customers, but today they had her to do my nails for whatever reason. My French was not being done correctly, I literally had to guide her through each nail. I literally had to ask her to redo the white line a few times, and it was never all the way on point just okay. I was trying to be nice and give her the opportunity to correct herself instead of just telling her to stop doing my nails and ask for someone else, but thinking in hindsight I should've. While getting my pedicure done I was really able to look at both of my hands together to really evaluate the job that was done, and my nails did not look nice, or neat in my opinion. Each French line was a different width, and the tips of my real nails were actually showing below the French line and that should've been covered with the white polish. After my pedicure I went to her and told her I really didn't like my nails and asked if there was someone who was good at doing French that couldn't fix my white tips. I get French tips done there all the time by different people and this was my first time ever having a complaint. She was offended, and actually kinda went back and forth with me and gave me attitude. She stated "why didn't I tell her I didn't like them so she could fix them before the pedicure". Kristen definitely knew that I didn't like my nails. I literally expressed that throughout the service. She even told me "I want them perfect, and she couldn't do them perfect". If she knew she wasn't able to provide the service properly she should've asked me if I wanted to wait for someone who could, or offered the service she could do like solid paint. Another lady ended up fixing my nails. It was very apparent that Kristine's ego was touched, and caused her to react unprofessionally, She was very rude. On my way out the door she made a comment with attitude, but I couldn't really hear her. I just said thank you and left. Today I called to book with a particular person, and she told me that person was booked today and tomorrow. I asked her when were they available and she put me on hold. She had someone else come on the phone and say "the manager said since the incident that happened last time we cant do your nails, and she said she told you that last time you were here". She never said that, and if that's what she mumbled on my way out she definitely wasn't direct. That same day a white women was there with her daughter being serviced, and after she left she returned irritated expressing to them that she didn't like the color on her toes and that her toes needed to be redone and they fixed them no problem and made no comments to her. The people who go to the salon are predominately white and hispanic. Clearly they never wanted me to be coming to their salon if I got banned for expressing that I wasn't happy with my service for the first time after a year and a half. I never yelled or nothing, just told the truth about my nails that I had to pay for. It was definitely because I'm African American. If you are black do not support this salon. The manager Kristine does not like black people. The old owners were nothing like her. read more

I have been coming here for about 4 years. The ONLY reason I continued to come here is because of my nail tech Nancy. They recently, as of November 2021, switched owners. The old owners moved to Texas and the new owner is someone who has been there for sometime and took over. I went there in November and had gotten my nails done. When I paid for my nails the nail tech let me know that they have new punch cards. I pulled out my old one and she transferred the old punches on the new one. I told her that I have another old nail alert card at home with $10 off Coupon and asked if I would be able to use it. She said, " yes, honey you bring it next time." Well, guess what... I brought it this time, which is one month later, and they did not expect my $10 off nail alert punch card! They recently put up a sign that stated "We no longer except any Nail Alert punch cards or Nail Alert gift certificates." It has be 4-6 weeks since New owners, and if you bought a gift certificate it's no good there. No warning, no grace period for the money you spent there. You're out that money and lost it! People don't even go there but at an average of Once ever 3 weeks, and a sign should have been put up right away with a reasonable end date to your coupons and gift certificates. I shared with her that it felt this was unfair to do that to your customers that have been coming here for a long time. She said, "sorry no can help you. We don't take no more." No empathy no understanding. Meanwhile the rest of the staff was talking crap about me in their language. I knew this because they kept saying here and there "old owner." They did NOT CARE about talk crap while I was still there. SOO RUDE! Finally, after eight minutes of explaining that you should give your customers a grace period to transition, and use their coupons/gift certificates she assertively said, " OK five dollar all I give you. That's it no more!" My bill was $110. They couldn't even give $10 off the total, which is less than 10%, to keep their customers happy. That is NOT how you keep customers. I settled for the five dollars, and was thankful for that. I'm torn between the decision of going to a new nail salon, because I love Nancy so much. I hope they improve there customer service. It was never up to par. Btw I am a beautician/ barber and I've been part of the service industry for over 16 years. I would never treat my customers this way. The returning customer is always more important than less than 10% off the bill. read more

My only complaint: cleanliness and sanitation. They pretend to sanitize all of their nail tools but they simply spray most of them down, wipe with a cloth and reuse by putting it back into an open sanitation bag. I noticed that when the technician started she emptied the utensils out from a blue and white serialization bag, but the bag was open on one end. It's a slide of the hand thing to make you think they are truly clean when they are not. With that said, they do a good job on your nails 80% of the time. They are fast and through. There needs to be more ventilation in the place because the fumes will give most people a headache. Overall, I don't think I'll be back. read more

Pros/ they do really good nails. The work is clean and pretty. I also get my brows done there regularly and am usually satisfied. Cons: twice now I've been there and have suspected discrepancies with the price they've charged. The price quoted for brow waxes is 8 dollars, but I went there once and was charged 9, then I went back today and was told 8 again. Also, I got gel full sets today and was told it cost 40 dollars, even tho it said 38 on the price list at the front desk. When I pointed this out to the person who did my nails she started talking in circles trying to explain the discrepancy...and still didn't manage to come up with a sensible explanation. I love Nails Alert! I feel the key to a good nail salon is finding the right technician to do your nails. This place is a farther distance then I would like to go but worth it. I always ask for Rubi. I'm on my feet a lot, so I feel really bad for all the hard work she has to do to make my feet look and feel good. She is always very friendly and easy to have a conversation with. Other nail salons I have gone to will completely ignore you and speak to their co-workers in another language while they are doing your nails. Rubi has probably done my nails at least 12 times and has never done that to me. I will continue to go to this salon as long as Rubi works there. read more

Location: Small outdoor shopping center. You have Chipolte next door, Jewel, Chase Bank and several other stores all conveniently located in the same shopping center! AMPLE, FREE parking (parking lot)! Shop: Waiting area. Doesn't really have one. With just a few seats in the front (upon entering shop). Quite honestly, it isn't rather welcoming at all. I'm so use to entering a nail salon with a cozy seating area, with a few friendly amenities. Alert Nails definitely lacked in this area. Nonetheless, the shop itself is rather long, with high ceilings and a rather "interesting" decor. Did I mention its pretty clean? Because we all know that's important! Reviews on Yelp: I selected this shop based on reviews and location. After reading reviews, and stumbling upon the name Liz numerous times, it was a no brainer that my mani/pedi had to be booked with her. Liz, was super friendly, professional, sweet and great at what she does! She took her time (was not SLOW by any means) but actually took her time, w/o rushing during my mani/pedi. There is nothing worse than making an appointment, paying for services, yet getting rushed throughout what's suppose to be a relaxing/enjoyable time. You not only want to enjoy the "pampering" but want excellent results as well! I am happy to say i received both from Liz!!! Liz if you're reading this thank you!! Ok, so I have a long story that culminates with how awesome this place is and how it is now my goto nail salon. On December 8, I was in desperate need of an acrylic overlay and new pretty nails for my company's upcoming holiday party. After looking up several different places near me, I decided on on Nail Alert. I started tracking my bus and was on my way. I got Nancy and she did a wonderful job. I asked for nail art on my accent nail and told her to surprise me and it was so different from anything i would have thought of and beautiful. As I was sitting with my nails drying, I reached into my purse to get my wallet so i could pay, I came to the realization that my wallet was sitting on my bed at home! I was horrified that this wonderful woman might think that I was trying to skip out on her great work. I explained to them that I live down the street, I don't drive but I would have to run home and come back to pay. This was my first time ever stepping foot in there and they trusted me, without asking to hold anything for collateral to guarantee my return. I hurried home and back, as fast as the bus would allow. I came back to pay with my card when I found out then that I could not add the tip on my card. Bummer, but I ran to Jewel to grab dinner and get the money for the tip. I was also withdrawing money for something else that left me with 1 100 dollar bill and a 10 for Nancy for her tip. I was rushing to catch my bus back home when I ran into the salon, gave Nancy her tip, and ran to the bus stop. Crisis averted...or so I thought. Monday morning, I went into my wallet for the 100 dollars, but it wasn't there. It was then I realized that I must have given Nancy that instead of the ten. I called when they opened but Nancy was out sick. The day that Nancy came back, she called me and said she did indeed have it and they were hoping I'd call since they had no way to reach me. I went to pick it up after work that day. It was cash and she could have claimed I didn't give it to her but the honesty and trust this salon showed me garnered a client for as long as I remain living in the city read more

Small and quaint - I LOVE it here. Came here for a quick (and I do mean quick) pedicure during my lunch break and she (Ruby) was able to get me in and out. Superb customer service from the time I entered to the time I left. I just wish I had more time to relax and partake in other services. I came in for a no chip manicure. I had no chip on and the women was so impatient to remove the polish. I could see her digging my nail off with the polish. Instead of waiting maybe 5 more minutes she keep scrapping and digging into my nail. It was very uncomfortable. It got to the point that I wanted to just keep the no chip off so I didn't have to ever experience that again. So much so that now with the polish she put on I can see where I am missing layers of my nail. She also talked across the room NON STOP the entire time getting my nails done. She told her to wait but she still pulled the strip and took skin off her top lip. My cousin started to bleed and after telling the manager she yelled at her and said she was just complaining because she didn't want to pay! My cousin showed her her bloody lip and bloody tissue and she just demanded the money. We walked right out and I promise we will never go back. I have been a customer for roughly 7 months. I started coming here out of convenience because my old nail salon was in the Gold Coast area. I can honestly say that coming here has been a life changer. They do a quality job and are reasonably priced. They offer a frequent customer reward card where you get a discount after so many visits. They have a clean facility and use sanitized tools for each customer. The customer service is great. I usually get pedicures and No Chip manicures, which lasts longer than 3 weeks. I walked in and told the lady (assuming she is the owner) that I wanted a no chip removal as well as a new manicure and sat me down with a nail tech. When the nail tech started to examine my nails she realized that it was a no chip removal and not a refill as the owner had told her. The nail tech went on and told me that I had said I wanted a refill not a no chip removal. They made me move seats to another nail tech and as the owner guided me towards the other chair she kept insisting that I had said that I wanted a "refill". The third time I picked a dip color that was not labeled appropriately. I don't know what dip powders are supposed to look like. She took the color Away, so I couldn't compare the powder to the nail example. Powder looked like a grey color. So I guess it my fault because I don't know what powders look like and I didn't stop her while she was working. I couldn't remember exactly what I picked out. So from now on I guess I am only going to make an appointment with Ruby because she was the first person I had there that did an amazing job and she actually talks to you! I recently went in and Tenni had taken the day off, I wanted a pedicure and my acrylic nails taken off for a new set and waxing. All was good until they pawned me off to this new guy in front who charged me more than ususal and did a shity job. I always have long nails and made them short and was very unfriendly and unprofessional. I left him a tip in spite of everything and he did not even thank me. I have come here a few times before to get a no chip color on my natural nails and it has turned out pretty good. A few days ago I went in to get a full set with white tips. I paid $45 and was pretty disappointed. First, I like my nails relatively short. I do a lot of typing and writing at work and I need them short so I can work quickly. When the guy asked how long I wanted my nails I said "Very short, even with my fingertips." He clipped the tips and they were still laughably long so I asked that he go over them again, making them SHORT this time." He clipped the tips only the teensiest bit. They were still way too long (see picture) I gave up and made a mental note to file them when I got home. Then, when doing the white tips, he only put a thin line of white on the very edges of my already too-long nails. You can literally see where the fake tip was stuck onto my nails and not covered with the white gel polish (see photo). It looks very unnatural and it resulted in me not being able to trim my nails to an acceptable length because there would be no white tips at all! I have been getting my nails done since high school and this is probably the worst I've ever had. As soon as I left the shop, I couldn't wait to soak them off. read more

If I could rate this place 0 I would, I called for an appointment the day before. I walked in 10 mins before I was suppose to be taken and ended up waiting 50 minutes for someone to take me. When being taken I asked for full set, my nails were buffered but not clipped, she slapped on the acrylic nail and didn't shape to the shape I asked for. She fixed them once I pointed them out but still not the shape I asked. I could have been okay if the design I asked for wasn't completely sloppy and I was just very unhappy with them. Especially knowing I had to pay more for the horrible job. I left and went to another salon to get them fixed. In the past they've done a really good job, but the minute they get busy they just throw on anything and try and get you out ASAP.
