Beyond excited to have found a nail salon close to home! I used to travel a bit to get my nails done but yesterday while thinking about the traffic and how long my whole trip would be for a pedicure, I decided to look in my area. To my surprise I came across Sucre and I'm so glad I decided to give them a try. I was able to walk there and Daisy took care of me-she took her time with my pedicure. I have a newborn at home so I hadn't had a chance for me-time, needless to say my feet needed work! She was super nice and did an excellent job. I was offered a glass of champagne but had to decline since I'm currently nursing... won't pass it up in the future. Plus: +sanitation- their tools are wrapped for each use and the pedicure water tub is plastic lined - reduces risk of getting fungus from someone else! + massage chairs and nice foot massage with warm towels when you get pedicure Happy to have found somewhere close to home and contributing to our neighborhood businesses! read more

Called in advanced for a full gel x nail set. (I had natural healthy medium length nails) When preparing nails it was aggressive and had cuts and bleed during process. Nails were overfilled with gel. 2 years later and I return! The quality of the nails is spectacular! Faby my technician was very professional and thorough. We got done in 1 hr and 1/2. My nails were bridal nails inspired: chrome with French tip and pearls. The price was pretty hefty for just no chip but i did have a lot of designs (~$85 + tip). I took off one star because the communication is mid. Before I was able to set my appointment through their website and they HONORED that appointment. Now, you have to personal dm the Instagram account. My experience I had an original appointment at 9am and the owner said she would send me a link to confirm. Night before I didn't receive anything so I followed up. Originally they wanted me to come in at noon which I couldn't do. Luckily they fit me in for 10am. So keep that in mind! You NEED verbal confirmation and may need to FOLLOW UP day before/of. Also I inquired about bridal party nails but was left on read so not sure ‍ Other than that, the vibe was very clean. I've been going to Sucre for about 4 months now. I get my nails done my Mari and I absolutely love her! She is patient and incredibly meticulous. My nails easily last over 4 weeks without a single chip. I love the gel overlay vs gel on its own since it lasts longer. This place is a ripoff. I was charged $75 for a simple no chip manicure, not including the tip, which I usually always tip 20% plus a $2.62 credit card service charge that they didn't tell me about before hand, otherwise I would've paid with cash. Also, the entire time I was getting my nails done, I was just distracted by how warm, dark, and dirty the place is (air vent dirty and full of dust, sofa busted, there were fruit flies in the bathroom, etc.) Edit to respond to owner's comment: This is a real & true review (some pics now included), and we spoke on the phone about it, remember? I texted you a picture of the manicure and of the receipt (again not including the tip, but I can pull up my cc statement, screenshot, and include that total amount paid as well if you want.) You said you weren't going to argue with me about your prices when I mentioned to you that $75 is what the 3 other shops that I alternate using in the neighborhood charge for a no-chip manicure and a regular pedicure. The pedicure which I didn't even have time to get at your shop because the tech who did my nails took about an hour 15 minutes just to do a simple manicure, so I was supposed to come back the next day to get the pedicure, but then I called you to cancel because of your ridiculous prices, like your shop is so cute & clean & located downtown or something. Also, both you and the lady at your shop said you overcharged me by $10 (only once I questioned the ridiculous pricing) and you refunded me that, but $65 for a simple no chip manicure and simple heart & dots designs on 2 nails is still over priced. Regarding the darkness, my appointment was at 6:30pm, so the sun was mostly down, but still no excuse for it to have been so dark in there (it was also stuffy/warm in there.) Other salons are still bright and cheery even in my evening appointments after work. And yes, your salon was dirty, it was visible even with such low lighting, start with cleaning your dusty, dirty vents and work your way to everywhere else, and perhaps get a sofa in better shape to wait on to justify your prices. 2nd Edit to respond to owner's comment to my edit: No, my pictures prove just how simple the manicure was and how simple the design is. And I was not refunded right away, but the day after when I spoke to you and canceled, and why did I even have to bring up why I'm being ridiculously over charged?? Also, don't lie (especially because you weren't even there), I didn't get a soak off, I came in with no polish on my nails. I am also not cheap, I will treat myself and usually always tip at least 20%, but will also not let anyone take advantage of me. BIG difference. Lastly, pointing out facts about the lack of cleanliness doesn't make one a hater, but will hopefully make you a better business owner and to better keep up with your business. The other salons I frequent take tools out of packages and out of sanitizers, unlike yours, so please don't further embarrass yourself with untruths. They're also bright, clean, more efficiently run and well kept up. The only reason why I ended up at your place is because it was the only place in the area with availability last minute, and now I know why. I'm now taking off a star for putting up with your rudeness and last word pettiness. Good day. read more

I loved this place! I passed by and walked in to see if they could accommodate a pedicure. Dede, the owner, was able to take me right away. The salon itself is clean and super cute. I loved that they used all the disposable products, even the bowls for the pedicures had disposable liners. Between the awesome pedicure chair massage, jelly pedicure and the glass of wine I was offered, I was super relaxed. I usually go to the same colors, but Dede pulled some colors and helped me picked out a beautiful color that I've gotten a lot of compliments on. I've been searching for a decent nail salon in the OIP/ portage park area for over a year. After being disappointed over and over by terrible service and rude technicians, I discovered Sucré! Skeptical at first, it's a weird location - industrial area ( I drove past 3 times) and plain decor but the service is exceptional. My first visit I did not have an appointment on a Friday afternoon and they got me In right away and made me feel welcome. The technician took her time and did a great job on my mani-pedi. They didn't try to up sell me on no-chip and my manicure lasted about 2 weeks. I went back for the second time and was impressed again, my nails look great and the customer service is unmatched in the area. Fair prices and you can tip on a credit card no questions asked ( who remembers to get cash?!). Sucré is highly recommended from a former spoiled WP/ Bucktown girl! read more

I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism this shop has shown. While they do amazing art work on nails, they can definitely do improving on professionalism. My sister and I scheduled an appointment more than two weeks in advance and were confirmed. I unfortunately was not able to make the appointment however my sister was able to so I texted Dede and explained I couldn't make it however my sister still could and if I could possibly reschedule for a different day. No response. My sister goes to her appointment only to find out her appointment has also been canceled, with no communication that it was, and another woman was told to come in during her appointment time. Not only was Dede over 35 minutes late anyway, she took the client before with an aapintment that was made after my sisters. My sister waited over an hour and a half to be seen, despite having an actual appointment and arriving on time. And she ended up having to leave without any services because she couldn't wait any longer. It's a shame and I won't be coming here. I cannot continue to support a business that treats their clients so inconveniently and unprofessionally. I will be taking my business elsewhere! read more
