I've been coming here for years and they used to have really good nail techs. It didn't matter who you had, they were all good at their job. Not sure what's happened here recently and if they're just hiring anyone who applies but my nails the last few times have been horrible. The last time I went, my no chip started chipping in a week. The same thing happened with my dip manicure that I got done last Friday. All my nails are chipping and I even had to go back the day after because my thumb nail began to chip. It was the same girl who did my nails and she's more concerned with cleaning her supplies than focusing on not doing a crappy job. When I went to get my nail fixed and she was like 'did you open something?' I was thinking to myself I should be able to open anything after getting my nails done without them breaking. She tried to make me feel like it was my fault they broke as opposed to her just doing a bad job, twice. Anybody who knows me knows how much I love to get my nails done -- it's my sacred biweekly ritual. I've been seeing my regular nail tech, Lina, for years and she is a nail design expert. Not only that, but she works fast (like a flawless acrylic fill-in w/ no chip french tip in 30min fast) with great attention to detail. I always get the best compliments on my nails!! I am a petite person and used to feel self-conscious about my tiny hands and nails, now I am confident showing them off :) I've also received fantastic services from Guitar, Tatiana, and Jenny so I recommend booking them if Lina is not available. Beware of their pricing. It fluctuates even if you get the same thing. The first time I came for a no chip mani and a regular pedi, it cost $75. I just went yesterday for the same exact thing and they charged me $83. The person who did my nails verbally said $80 but Jenny said "no no $83". My nails look great however I'll never know the price since it depends on the person. Btw I DIDNT get any designs. I'm doing this review as a PSA for those that may be considering going here for a service. I received a gift certificate specifically for this salon as it claimed to be accessible. However upon arrival I saw that it is NOT accessible and the employee who I spoke to neither apologized nor tried to accommodate me in any way. I suggested a ramp to enter the business or asked if they could do at-home service. They refused to discuss any options for use of my certificate, and also refused to refund my money. The employee actually said "SUE ME". SHAME ON LEE NAILS. This is 2024. If you have any disability DO NOT USE THIS SALON. The first picture is what I asked for and then the right what I got. The nails were all clumpy. The hearts were ugly and not how I wanted them. The tip wasn't even brown, it was purple. I had even mentioned before she started that I wanted it black actually instead of the color shown on the reference picture. Just everything went wrong and I was not happy with the results. Came in bc I had a gift certificate and went around 2p on a Friday and it was pretty slow. I only planned on getting a pedicure but figured I'd get a mani to give them some business. Their color selection is ok so I picked two colors which came out nicely although she didn't paint all the way to the cuticle on a couple nails. The place is a bit cluttered so there isn't really a spa like feeling, which I'm fine with and they are taking covid precautions so I appreciated that. As ppl came in, they seated them in every other chair and put up plastic shields btwn themselves and us. Their prices are pretty standard, $40 for a regular mani and pedicure; not sure about other services but they looked reasonable when I looked at the menu. Overall its a fine place and if it was closer to me, I'd try them again. read more

When I came in the place was dead, and it was about 3pm on a Tuesday. I asked when I entered if they had the chrome nails, and was told yes. I sat down with Charlie and he began to glue the tips onto 3 of my nails before telling me that they do not have the chrome.... If they would have said that from the get go I would have tried somewhere else because that was what I was specifically looking for, but with 3 tips already glued on I was stuck! Anyways.... Charlie offered me the hologram nails, but told me it would be $10 more. I told him I wanted just one nail on each hand as an accent nail, and he still charged me $5 extra. Why will I never go back? Everyone including the nail tech had the worst demeanor. They all looked like someone had spit in their cereal that morning, they were so sour faced! Also, even though I told him I had thin natural nails, he still cut me while working. He acted like it didn't happen, even though there was blood, and continued. That is SOOOO unsanitary! The drill they use is not sterilized after each use, so if he cuts me, then goes and uses that same drill on the next person, then you could easily be spreading blood borne pathogens from one person to the next! Also, the shape of the nails were bulky around the cuticle, the filing was not straight, there are noticeable lumps, and it hasn't even been a week and they are already coming up on the sides. Save your money, and go somewhere else! Chicago has too many talented nail techs to subject your digits to this mediocrity! read more

The prices that are advertised through their Facebook page and Google page are not honored upon getting the services on location. I got the basic pedicure that online was advertised for $25.00 but after my services were rendered I was charged $35?! According to them it's because they haven't updated anything online, it's also due to the current weather storm and they will eventually correct it!? This is not fair to customers to be mislead like this. This is also not the proper way to do business overall. To top it off, I was rushed through the service, I didn't get the top coat placed at the end and had to request it from a different employee (which she was very nice about her approach). I won't be coming here again despite the convenience in distance around the area, they take advantage of their customers. Jenny did my nails and she did a fabulous job! I'm so in love with the holographic glitter!! I wish I was born with these nails. The total was $50- $15 extra for the holographic top coat. The base coat I picked was a lavender purple color. I don't know the young girl's name, but when I called in I asked if they had a bathroom and she replied "No! Are you crazy?!" But in a funny way. I should have listened to the reviews, the first 2 times I went everything went well, Tuesday afternoon I went to get a powder dip and a no chip pedi, they did my pedicure and soaked of my previous and she proceeded to do my nails, omfg it was the worse experience ever it was clumpy and super thick, not smooth at all, didn't use the UV light, didn't attempt to file or smooth it out. Cut off my real nails when she asked if I wasn't to clip them or file, I said file, then she had the nerve to say trust me I've done my job a long time, like what my cat could have done a better job with his eyes closed!!! Then when I asked her if she was really done she said "oh you don't like it" girlllll Halloween is overrr, I asked the technician sitting next if she would allow a client to leave with her hand looking like this and she said 'no it's ugly, she doesn't know how to do dip' okay well why wasn't I told, when I walked In and was asked what I needed? Why waste over 2 hours of my time, then I asked if I can just get an overlay and no chip, and 5 people there working and I'm told no one know how to do an overlay, like seriously? Then why not say that in the beginning I could have went somewhere else! I wish I would have taken a picture I wanted to cry real tears!! Then I kept being told come back tomorrow come back tomorrow, I'm sorry I have a job I can't just come back every single day until someone knows what they are doing!!! Then I called the own Jenny and she was absolutely no help whatsoever, when I asked her why no one told me they couldn't provide the services requested and she said she doesn't know, this is your shop, you should have someone qualified, that knows what they are doing, waste over 2 hrs and didn't even get a discount for my wasted time. pathetic, they better be happy I'm a good person and even paid for the pedicure, I wanted to walk out and say some really awful things, but I refrained!!! Changing my review. In my opinion, the service has drastically changed since Jenny's daughters grew up & started working at the salon. The one that answers the phone is very snotty and lies. She'll tell you the salon closes at 7 even though it's open until 8. If you ask to make an appointment with your favorite technician, she'll tell you the person is booked for the rest of the night...so you reluctantly come in to see a different tech only to find out the one you wanted was NOT booked all night & asks how come you didn't ask for her. This has happened more than a few times so it's not just a coincidence. Lastly, I change up the services I go in for...always a pedicure & no chip manicure but sometimes I need a nail repair, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I'll have my eyebrows & lip waxed, sometimes just my eyebrows. Sometimes French tips, sometimes one color. But no matter what I do, it always ends up costing me the same...even when I've had less work done. After many many years frequenting this salon, I got sick of the bs. Sorry to Tina...wish I could still have you do my nails, but unfortunately I now take my money elsewhere. And I'm paying less and getting beautiful manicures and FRIENDLY HONEST service. read more

I just came from a HORRIBLE experience with a male staff member (maybe Charlie) who cut my sisters toe with a razor blade that they use in the callous removal tool. Not only did he NOT apologize for making her bleed everywhere but she was required to PAY FULL PRICE even though the manicure was ruined by the staff trying to stop the bleeding. I wish I had thought to create a scene and yell out to other customers over this terrible experience. The man ( maybe Charlie) neither apologized nor did he do anything to stop the bleeding. I've been going to Lee Nails for about two months now. I always get clear acrylics and then paint them myself because I like having half-moon nails. The first time I had gone my previous acrylics were driving me insane, the salon beforehand put the acrylic nail completely over my cuticle and I was going into Lee Nails with the intention of completely removing the trash on my fingers. But the two employees at the front convinced me to get a fill, and I'm so glad they did! The employee looked at my nails and started to file away the bottom portion of my nail in a smooth curved edge. She warned me about the health risks of not getting a fill and continued to work quietly (Which I really appreciated because I'm not much of a talkative person myself). And the technician Lilo (From what I heard later, I'm not certain if this was the proper spelling) was fantastic. Although yes, the process could have been cleaner, the job was done with precision and diligence. My nails have never looked better. She was so quick I couldn't believe she fixed all I needed in such a short amount of time! As for the salon itself, was I expecting it to be the cleanest place ever? No. And it wasn't. But as far as I'm concerned, my nails look fantastic and it didn't drain my wallet. Overall: ASK FOR LILO She knows what she's doing, especially if it's for Acrylics. I can only speak on my experience with her, but with her talent, there's no need to spend hours anywhere else. Also, bring cash for tips! read more
