Before writing this review, I want to clearly state that this is not my first visit to this location. I have provided more than enough chances, and despite multiple disappointments in the past, I continued to give them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, this last experience confirmed that I should have trusted my instincts. I scheduled an appointment for a full set and a no-chip pedicure. Upon arrival, I was asked for my name, then requested to use the restroom. When I returned, I was immediately instructed to sit at the pedicure station. The water was cold, and I had to ask several times for it to be made warmer. During the pedicure, the technician began shaving my feet so aggressively that he nearly shaved down an entire nail. I repeatedly reacted in pain and said "ouch," yet he continued, causing me real discomfort and distress. Instead of feeling relaxed, I was tense, anxious, and unable to even use my phone. It was an extremely unpleasant and stressful experience. To make matters worse, when I asked the manager for a specific color, she told me they didn't have it and tried to redirect me to the limited nail polish display they provide. When I asked for a similar shade, I was again told they didn't have it. She then incorrectly described it as ombre, when in reality it was not. I have had this style done many times and know the difference. I felt pressured into accepting what they wanted to offer instead of what I requested while still being overcharged. This is now my third horrible experience at this shop. I was told the business had changed, which is the only reason I returned. I regret believing that. Despite everything, I still left a tip and specifically requested that most of it go to the older gentleman who did my nails. Even though the nails were longer than I wanted, I was so emotionally overwhelmed that I didn't have the energy to correct it. This will absolutely be my final visit. Never again!!!!!!! read more

This is my second time coming here but my 1st time taking the time to review them. I was talking to my very good friend about needing to get my feet and nails done since I wasn't happy with my previous nail tech... the work that my previous tech was doing wasn't lasting and thats horrible. So my friend told me about American Nails and her nail tech, Jenny, and how happy she is with her work. She made an appointment for me - they require appointments now - and off I went today. And I have to say, I was very impressed with the service I received there. When I walked in, they required for both me and my daughter (she wasn't getting anything done) to wash our hands. They got the chair for the pedicure ready for me and I sat for my first service. Jenny asked me what color I wanted from the wheels of color that she brought over to me and I showed her the color I wanted for my toe nails. After a relaxing time on the chair, she took my items over to her station and asked me what I wanted done for my hands... I showed her a picture of what I wanted and told her that I wanted to change the color to match my toes. She worked her magic and did it exactly how I wanted it - and I am so happy with her work! When I first walked in it took a while for someone to greet me. The receptionist said it was appointments only but she was able to get me in with a little wait time and I was assigned to a female tech. I ended up getting a no chip pedicure and a no chip manicure. My pedicure was okay but the technician didn't even bother to clean up under my nails. Just cut, barely file and she didn't scrub the bottom of my heels very well. Most of my toe nails had sharp edges so I had to file them myself when I got home. For my manicure she was a little aggressive cutting my cuticles where she nicked me a few times. Her nail filing was horrible. I asked for coffin nails and she gave me almond nails on one hand and square on the other. I needed a fake nail so another technician took me. When he saw my nails he seemed confused about my nail shape. But he was able to fix it and they came out way better than the ladies shaping. I'd recommend going with a male tech they seem to know what they're doing. Overall, I liked the color and the painting was ok... I just wished there wasn't such a gap near my cuticles. Best place ever! I went to get a pedicure and no chip acrylics. The pedicure was wonderful and absolutely sanitary. I love that they follow all sanitary codes and make sure that you as the client can see that. So after that relaxing experience, Boi did my no chip acrylics. Boi is incredibly gentle and sweet - I love that he offered that customer service experience we all need after a long day at work. He listened to what I wanted which was matte baby pink coffin nails. He is extremely detailed and efficient! I was so happy when I left!! I broke a nail today - it was purely my fault because I pulled a lever wrong ‍ - but I called and Boi was quick to fix my nail! So I've been to this nail shop of about 4 separate occasions. I was really trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. The times I went was because I did not have time to go to my regular nail shop and this one is really close to my house. In my opinion these are the things wrong with this shop. Reason #1 - Sanitation. Just like a previous reviewer I noticed their poor sanitation. The same tools that were used on me were used on someone else. Who knows how many more people they used those tools on before me. Just a day or two after my no chip I noticed my were cuticles burning, peeling and looked really bad. I couldn't think of why until I spoke with my doctor about it and the first thing she said was "sanitation. they didn't sanitize their tools when they did your nails." Mind you I didn't even tell her I went to get my nails done. So I completely agree with Diana on this one. Reason #2 - Inexperienced They have working there what looks like kids. Who when asked for a specific thing have a look on their face like "I don't know how to do that." The application of the nail polish is poor. They only have 2 techs who do specific designs and acrylic application. Reason #3 - Too Fast There's such a thing to be fast but be fast and thorough. Every time I went they rushed to get me in and out. What drove me nuts was they didn't allow my no chip to soak all the way off and trying to use the electric nail file to remove it and didn't even take off all of the polish!! I would have some spots of nail polish still on my nails and they would polish over it! They don't take the time they should to clean up sloppy work. I have pretty long natural nails and instead of the tech taking her time to clean up cuticles. She half assed cleaned them, told me to go wash my hand and then started painting. Once she started painting she attempted to "clean up" her sloppy line but did a terrible job and my cuticles still looked bad. Reason #4 - Durability As a working and busy mom. I pay a lot on my nails and expect them to last between 2-3 weeks.This falls hand in hand with application. Every time I got my nails done by them my no chip was rather thin and would end up chipping pretty quickly. I never had this problem at my other shop and when I did it was addressed pretty quickly. In short after giving them the benefit of the doubt I tried them about a handful of times and will not be returning even though it is close to home. I would much prefer to drive out of my way where I know I will get amazing service and my nails will look amazing when I leave. The pros of this place is that it is a beautifully designed nail salon. They do have a pretty large nail polish selection. These were my observations. I'm not saying they are the worst because that is a bit harsh considering they are new. I really think they need some experienced techs, work on their sanitation and techniques. I have been a customer for years, like since 2016, that being said I was disappointed the last few times I've visited. Prices are always fluctuating and customer service is more like, charge more and the customer is never right. I've seen people denied changes because they book different or they didn't feel satisfied and all the employees talk in a different language to get their stories straight before denying the customers remarks and point simply making it seems like the customer is wrong and they are right. What got me to say "no more, thanks" was getting a simple manicure. If they can't do the basics right then they are in it only for the money, money, and money...and not quality or customer satisfaction. The price for a manicure went up to 20$ and no chip for $30. If you look at the menu the price for nail art is additional $10 dollars. But if the design is extensive, meaning not basic to their standards, it can be more. Like my partner who got no chip and different art for each nail that made it reach a whooping $60 dollars. Anyways, I wanted clear manicure with a little red heart. Please view pics attached. When I sat down I asked if it would be more for a heart and the guy said no. Because of language barriers, I thought he said no, turns out he said yes. But anyway, he trimmed my nails and cuticle, then proceeded to add the hearts without a base coat. I knew this was wrong but I wanted to see he's idea of a manicure, thinking maybe he got a twist to it I'll like, NOPE he just missed that step. He then added a top clear coat to it and moved me to the drying station and suddenly took on another customer. Can you guess what else he forgot??? Yes that's right, he forgot the cuticle oils and hand massage as well. This is necessary for you nails to be healthy after the chemicals of a soak off. Right? I ain't no expert but I'm pretty sure that's a thing. So basically this simple manicure ended up costing me $30 dollars. I told the front desk lady that price isn't right for what I got and requested just a price of $20 since I had no color except the heart and the tech didnt do a full job requiring that price. He legit took 15 minutes for my nails. Well you can guess what happened next, they all started telling me the prices were as reflected on the menu, after they all talked in their little circle, eyeballing me like I just insulted their pride. So then I said, why was my partners' more when no chip was 30$ and nail art is $10. They said cause it was more designs. So in conclusion, my nails were not less even though I had less on them and less was done and my partner's was more because thats what they freaking felt like charging! End of story, basically petter griffin staying 'sh@t up Meg.' I was pissed because I felt taken advantage and not heard. The visit was $90 dollars total. I'm never going back, because even if they knew me after years of customer visits, my satisfaction meant sh!t to them. A business remains great if customers quality is met. Just try it, go in for a basic manicure, see what happens. Did they do it too fast, did they reach all the steps? How much were you charged? and were you satisfied? If you weren't how did they react? Absolutely LOVE this spot. I've been coming to this location for about 6 months, and this is the first nail salon I've been able to trust in a while. They fixed my nails a couple months back when I got them done by an Instagram "work from home" tech. They were so ruined and ugly, and when I came here they made me feel so much better and I left very happy. They always take good care of their clients. Yesterday I went with my mom to get a full set. It came out AMAZING. I'm not sure the name of my tech, but she sits at station #2. She was very patient with herself and took her time to make sure everything was perfect. I showed her a picture I found off Pinterest of what I wanted, and she took it to a whole other level. I'm absolutely in love with my nails. Now, I only gave this review 4 stars because they have very long wait times when you come as a walk-in, and don't take appointments unless they know you on a first name basis. Luckily my mom goes to Jenni a lot, so she was able to get an appointment on a Saturday morning. But overall, GREAT service and amazing work! I'm giving a 5 star because both times I have gone my no chip acrylic nails have looked AMAZING after. First time I had a lovely experience. This past time the guy was super rough. He fought for a while to get my old nails wedged off with another fake nail instead of just soaking them. In fact my thumb still hurts from him trying to wedge it off and roughly handling my thumb. I had a healing sore on another finger I told him many times he was hurting me. He didn't seem to care a bit he was hurting me and continued to be rough even when I pulled away many times and asked him to "be gentle". The best part after paying $65 is no lotion offered, none. I had to ask for it at the counter when I paid and he rushed me to pay while I rubbed the lotion on my hands. I've literally never been to get my nails done and had no lotion offered ever!! This place is the closest to my house, and provides dip powder as a service, so I thought "why not?" I called and made an appointment for 45 min later since it's so close. She (didn't catch her name) cleaned up my nails a bit and then Boi sat down to do the dip powder on my nails, and ohhhh, my god, what an amazing job he did! It's one of those nail places that books twice as many appts as they can handle, expecting nice people to be patient long past their appointment times.
