I've been a loyal customer for years. I'm celebrating my 50th Birthday and I just knew I was going to get pampered!! I did a walk in and right away they said I had to wait. I waited 30 minutes and I ask for a full set and a spa pedicure. They started my pedicure and said we're not gonna do your nails . I was confused. Like did I do something wrong. He said they are booked and no one wants to do it!!! I should have left because I never felt more uncomfortable. I thought they would have changed their mind but they denied me again and I just paid for the pedicure and left. I'm glad I did because I found a new spot. Luxo Nail Spa!!! They served drinks and made me feel special. And it's closer to my home!!!! I went back and told the Man Lou at the desk how me made me feel and he had no cares in the world!!!! I moved to the neighborhood a bit ago and have been searching for a new nail place but am very particular about who I see because it gives me a lot of anxiety to sit there for an hour or two! I think I found a new nail technician and her name is Nancy! She did such an amazing job on my nails. I got a full acrylic set with no chip polish and she shaped them so beautifully that they look like my natural nails! Perfect coffin shape and length, just what I wanted. She also found the perfect color match from a picture that I pulled up on Pinterest to match my rose gold themed baby shower coming up in a few days. I definitely will be coming back! For those concerned, social distancing was practiced at this salon. Before signing in, the receptionists urges you to sanitize your hands prior to touching the pen. Each nail station has the plexi glass that separates you and the nail tech. Also, every other chair is empty so that you are not next to someone. Masks are enforced. Nail prices are not bad either. For a no chip mani & pedi, the special is $60. Not bad! Conveniently located at the Addison & Elston strip mall and there is plenty of parking. read more

I was so disappointed in the way I was treated here yesterday. I called in for a fill in as one nails had cracked the day before (only the acrylic) and I needed an actual manicure of the cuticles. My friend who referred me to this place months and months ago always says Nancy is the best but she was not in... so I asked for Lucy. Upon my arrival Lucy was quite annoyed, I don't know if she was having a bad day or if my same day appt interrupted her workday... just don't know, she was just irritated and annoyed. I made her aware of the cracked nail, instead of removing the acrylic she filled in over the crack and later realized the nail was still moving. I requested she soak it off she proceeded to clip brand new cured acrylic cutting my nail underneath and then trying to separate the new acrylic from my now sore finger, as I'm calmly saying please soak it off with acetone. She finally soaked and filed it off, my real nail is now a nub and sore, applied a fake nail and acrylic and cut the side of my finger with the nail file. I originally wanted clear and switched to color due to the fake nail looking so different. My nail hurts underneath and my finger is swollen. My overall experience with the salon, particularly Nancy is great. However this rude, dismissive, poor customer service experience with Lucy was definitely off putting. My nails look great aside from the swollen finger but my experience was not. Outside of this experience any other time I've come has been great, very disappointed in this visit. read more

I definitely feel they over price everything. I used to love coming here until I realized there's way better nail techs on instagram that are local and do a way better job for a way lesser price. I payed about 60$+ on acrylics that were very short and a French tip and when I came in a month later for an only a FILL IN I was told the price was 60+ again ... how is a fill in 60$ n more ? They said French tip is 15$ whattt? Definitely crazyy. Anyways never going back. My nails are way cuter now and Longer with very cute gems and all for only 35$. Best of all she's a beast with the cuticle clipper; I grow so much shin over my nails and many can't clear it all away! The salon is usually busy & clean. Nails Alert is close to home, so I always walk there. Today, I forgot my rings in the shop & went back. Another one of the amazing techs, I believe she's the owner/manager of sorts, saw that I was about to walk back out without an umbrella & handed me my rings AND an umbrella to borrow. I went for a dip nail set and the color was fine until I left it started looking patchy (some parts of the nails looked wet and dark still) I went back to get them fixed and the woman told me that's how they look and the color will go back to normal in 2-5 days. I've come here several times but today I had enough. I called ahead and made an appointment for a full set and no chip pedicure. I waited 30 minutes before they started my pedicure and then waited another 20 minutes until they started my full set. I was there for a total of 3 hours. After going back to the salon twice for them to look and the toe affected I was told I would be given a refund and to never return. I am so disappointed in how I was treated as if this was my fault. I did NOT enjoy my time here. Let me start off with telling you this is my first review, and it had to be this one. I came in to get my no chip nails soaked off, and then instantly I knew it would not be a good experience. I've had no chip before, and I know how it works. First off, they used regular nail polish remover to soak my no chip off. Ummmm. Not the right thing. There's a specific liquid you use, and it is not nail polish remover. Secondly, I was sitting with these things on my fingers for literally 20 minutes (12:34-12:52, takes 2 minutes with the right liquid) and they were so tight. The guy that was "helping" me went to another person and never came back. I had to get another person to do it. And then this woman came and "finished" it. (Backstory: i was already upset bc i was sad my nails were coming to their end) She was scraping and scraping and I know it just wasn't good for my nails. Then she told me that removing my nail polish would be $5. "$5 to remove my nail polish?" *no response* Then after she "finished" I showed my mom and she was playing it cool. So she said said should just get a clear layer, so I did, and that cost me $3 EXTRA DOLLARS. So now I'm out $8, and I'm also out this salon. read more

Been going here for a year as a loyal customer. First time ever, I had a no-chip that wasn't good last time. It oddly turned yellow and chipped in multiple places in under a week. I showed it to them when I returned from vacation and all they would do is a three (!) dollar discount on the service I received that visit which cost 30 dollars. They blamed me for not showing it to them faster even though I explained it didn't turn yellow right away but once I was out of the country on vacation. Sorry to say I won't be back. This is a great salon with a ton of colors to choose from and friendly staff. They also have some specials- if you pay in cash you'll get a discount. Bring cash, it's a great way to save! They also have some weekday specials- so be sure to ask! I loved that they had a ton of OPI colors that looked really new and fresh- not nasty old bottles that you see at some salons. Ive been here a few times.usually good experience. Today wasnt 100% I Got full set and pedi. My pedi was great nice lady tech( didn't get her name) great massage and polish. The full set was done by a different person ( I think David) it wasn't good. One coat of thin acrylic that when he used drill my nail stung, because it wasn't enough acrylic on top of my natural nail.Only 2 coats of gel polish when I ask for another coat he said no, I won't look right. Came here on a Friday to do a full set of gel nails .. I came back because there was a lady there that was really nice and did a great job last time I was here .. BUT this time it was the worst experience ever .. I suggest not to do your nails with the guy that sits up front by the entrance.. so I was there on a Friday and he did a full set .. later that same day two I've them fell .. they cracked .. in half so then I go back on a Saturday and I ask to speak to a manager and explained to her what happened .. she said I will fix it .. haves the worst idea to put me with the same guy that did my nails the day before I was like ok I'll give him another chance .. UM this guy fixed it but then used a different shade of nude for two nails that had been fixed ... lady's .. don't get your nails done with the guy in front please !!!!! read more

I had to wait over an hour for an appt I booked in advance due to an emergency, but they never took my number and couldn't inform me before I took an Uber there. The person in the front kept asking me if I want to reschedule but I was like "I mean I'm already here" Then the nail tech told me because I was waiting they would give me a design even though I said no because I don't want to spend extra money and she insisted she was not going to charge me so I said okay fine. Still charged me two dollars which is whatever but it was just gems on my nail bed I didn't even want and didn't ask for and was told I wasn't going to be charged at all for? Make it make sense. She also said there's now a long nail fill in fee which again was not there before and my nails aren't super long either just regular coffin nails that grew out The last time I was also charged for a design the tech did without asking me and I said it was fine because it looked nice and I didn't want to say anything. I have given them the benefit of the doubt before but I feel like I was taken advantage of which is a bummer because I really liked how they usually do my nails. read more

Wow! I walked in on a beautiful Friday afternoon and was seated within 5-7 minutes. I'm wearing a dress to a wedding tomorrow that has an intricate design, so I asked my technician, Lisa, if she could come up with a design for the nails on my ring fingers. After we agreed on a color, she went to work. Lisa was very kind and did an excellent job on my nails. My cuticles are always a disaster and she tamed the hell out of them! She also shaped my nails beautifully. As you can see from the picture, the design she came up with on the spot and meticulously painted came out amazing!! Salon was spacious and pretty, there was a constant steady flow of customers, and each tech uses separately packaged and sterilized tools. Free parking! The only downside is the price. I like this place a lot. They have little customer cards for when you pay cash; after 9 stamps, you get 50% off a mani or pedi, which is nice. Parking is easy to find because they share a lot with Jewel, Chipotle, etc. As far as their work, Lisa does my nails, and she does a great job every time. She knows I like my nails super short and painted all the way to my cuticle area, and she gives me exactly what I like, even though she doesn't normally paint the nail that way. The only reason I didn't give Nails Alert 5 stars is because the baseboards by the pedicure station are incredibly dirty, and it takes away from the salon's overall glamor. read more
