I was looking for a nail salon that was affordable in the area. Looking at the pictures on yelp, I thought that NAILD was a cute & hip shop super close to my place. It's a small shop located in the same complex as Marshals and CVS so there is lots of parking. The shop is appointment only so make sure to make one in advance! I was able to text them and got a reply really quickly. When I walked in, there were already three customers getting their nails done, so they seemed confused as to why I was there. I was a little sad because in past reviews it said they offer you mimosas, champagne, or tea, and I wasn't asked for a drink. Not a deal breaker, but I had expectations from previous reviews. They offer tons of different services, but I opted for the Treat Yo Self mani pedi which is $53, $64 with tip. The salon itself is clean, and the decor is cute and minimal. They have pictures on the wall with cute quotes, and the chairs are wooden seats. They bring water basins to your seat if you're getting a pedicure which was very cute! Taylor did my feet, while Maile joined later to do my nails. The Treat Yo Self Mani comes with a homemade lemon scrub and massage. My feet were really dry, so I hoped they would get off all the dead skin. I love the shape of my nails, and they did spend a lot of time massaging and cleaning. However, I think that it wasn't worth the $53. I'd rather opt for the regular mani pedi for $40 instead. They have a $3 credit card/debit card charge, but they waived the fee for me since it was my first time! Overall a good experience, I'd be back for the basic services. They also have a stamp card, once you fill it up you can get a free manicure or half off gel nails. read more

I absolutely love this nail spa! It's quite different from anything I've ever experienced and far from the standard. It's very spacious with an industrial style flooring. They have large individual chairs with plenty of space from other customers so you can enjoy a real personal experience. Had a lovely experience, but I'm sad they're closing their physical location! Went in today for an appointment with Sunny and was greeted warmly at the door. Picked my color and waited for my time slot with nice music playing and a quiet environment. Sunny is a great manicurist and loves people so talking to her made the time fly. Very cute space with complimentary tea and water (no more champagne) and very comfortable chairs. Lots of parking but, again, they are closing this location. I also purchased an oil for my cuticles that's made in house - it has a nice light smell, it's easy to throw in my purse and use on the go while I'm out and about! Ask for Sunny! She has over 25 years of experience and knows exactly what she's doing. Not only is she super sweet but she knows how to make you feel at ease. My pink gel manicure came out looking both professional and flawless. I cannot recommend Sunny enough as she loves the work that she does and she loves to share her trade with those that pop in to see her. Shes not only a lovely human being but a passionate and skilled technician. My friend got the unicorn chrome dusting on top and I was mega jealous, will be going in for it soon! Be sure to give yourself ample time as Sunny and her colleagues like to take their time to meticulously give you the best quality manicures. The interior design is cute - rustic chic furniture arranged in the center of the room. I was offered a drink when I sat down - was told they had mimosas but was given champagne (not really complaining about that!). They have a good selection of colors and high-quality polishes including a lot of gel. I was there during the day on a weekday and was the only customer there. Strangely, there was no music playing so it was super quiet. There was a dog in a crate in the corner but I didn't notice until it barked just once. My technician, Miley, was very nice and worked quickly. I had a gel manicure that was okay. Some sides weren't covered completely and they were shorter than I prefer. I was nipped on one of my cuticles which is a tiny scab a few days later. I've had some great hand and foot massages with basic services at other salons but here, it was pretty minimal. And definitely becoming a regular :) I had such a great experience with Kiersten (owner and manicurist) she did such a great job from shaping, removing cuticles to applying my gel polish. She was very patient and allowed me to come in right before she was closing her shop! (This is an appointment only nail salon, however, she mentioned she sometimes takes walk ins) I got lucky ! The vibe and atmosphere in this salon is very relaxing and has great calm vibes. She plays great music and her decor is just amazing. I make a joke about the condition of my nails to the chick who knew the entire situation. The owner looks at the CUSTOMER (ME) who just paid YOU and your techs very well. What a hidden gem! If you're looking to get your nails done, this place is located right next to the Chinese restaurant and behind the liquor store. I happened to find this place on Yelp and it's only a 3 minute walk from work. They've been open for 9 months and have been doing fairly well from what I've heard through my nail tech. Pros: Parking is convenient and plentiful. Decor is modern and inviting (rustic feel). Tons of options for your nail color needs. All the nail techs are sweet and approachable. Loyalty cards granted. COMPLIMENTARY MIMOSAS. Cons: More pricey than the other nails shops I go to. Still reasonable. No other cons for now. I decided to try a different black owned nail salon since my nail tech is on maternity leave. This location has been open for 2 years which is a huge accomplishment. I was impressed by the ambiance; cute spa chairs (not massage accessible), a variety of colors (regular and gel), and I think they offer drinks as well. However, I wasn't offered any. I loved my manicurist Zanna, she did a beautiful job, 20+ experience, very talented and detailed. When I first walked in I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is so relaxing and inviting. I was greeted by the friendly owner who offered me a mimosa or free water while I waited for my appointment. Fast forward 25 minutes later, and I was still patiently waiting for my mani/pedi appointment. The staff as extremely attentive and apologized multiple times for the back up. They offered me 50% off my pedi and a complimentary neck and shoulder massage (which was AMAZING)! That kind of customer service is extremely hard to come by. Decent spot. Cool interior with wide armed chairs (they don't recline) but was expecting a much warmer welcome based on previous reviews. I had to ask for water. The whole pedicure felt rushed and even hit a few tender spots cutting cuticles which made me cringe but my gal barely paused - just powered through. From a sanitary perspective I didn't like that at the end of my manicure she had me sitting bare feet on the woven Matt things they use - should have been covered with a towel. Toes look good though. It's two reasons I'm not giving Nail'd 5 stars. 1. I got a regular pedicure and a gel manicure and it took 2 hours. 2. There was a dog in there The two reasons I mentioned will not keep me from going back. I booked my next appointment prior to me leaving. The service I received was excellent and the dog didn't bark, jump on me or run around the shop. I'm just not a fan of dogs in malls, salons and even grocery stores unless it's a seeing eye dog. It wasn't crowded and I like that it is appointment only. I was greeted and offered a variety beverages including a mimosa. The music playing was at a good selection and at a nice volume and I was able to relax. My sole reason for going was because it was black owned. I was actually looking for a place that had competitive prices with Asians and although this wasn't the place, they are very detailed in the care of your hands and feet. The money is well spent. Quality of nail care is more important than cheapest price to me. I like that they have compartments on the side of the chairs so your purse or shoes just aren't on the floor or hanging on the back of the chair. They also sent a text confirming my appointment and the services I wanted and when I got there and said my name she knew exactly what I wanted. This isn't a place to go get a mani/pedi if you have to be in and out in 45m-1hr but it is definitely worth your time and money. read more

The woman painting my nails took her time to make sure each nail were done perfectly. She did light shaping and cleaning my cuticles (which again I didn't expect since I wasn't going in for a regular manicure), she also rubbed my hands with oil. If this was just a color change treatment, I will definitely go back for a full mani/pedi! No rush, super clean and hot tea with honey too. $20 and a got the best "gel color change" ever. read more

Everyone that knows me knows I'm huge on pedicures/manicures and I'm usually not very harsh with reviews but this business just did it for me. It is a very nice nail salon with good quality nail polishes and alcoholic beverages while you are getting your manicure/pedicure. Which is awesome for a tired mommy. My review is based only on technician who did my pedicure. She cut my nails too short, she shaped them to her liking, and she barely touched my feet. I can still see the dead cuticle she could have clipped on my toes. When I asked her if she could fix it she ignored me. I would love to return to this establishment but unfortunately I will not. I had a few really nice mani/pedis here before but last week I came in at an odd hour so there was only 1 tech. I would have loved to do the mani and pedi at the same time with 2 techs but this wasn't an option. The woman I had was super aggressive pushing and cutting the cuticles and I ended up with very uneven cuticles and a TON of hangnails. I mentioned that it was painful while she was working but she just brushed it off and said it was what she needed to do. The space is beautiful and bright but very quiet. No music or anything so it was pretty awkward. There was no noise at all except the owners dog barking the entire time :( Definitely not the most relaxing or enjoyable experience. The only reason I went here was b/c of positive reviews, however once was enough. I had a gel manicure and a spa pedicure. Just 5 days after the gel manicure my nails began tearing and the polish began chipping and after 6 days it began lifting in large chunks. My pedicure experience was horrible. The pedicurist kept pulling my small toe in a painful way so I kept adjusting my foot to an angle so it wouldn't hurt and she continued to pull it in the other direction. She finally said "I'll move it" and I explained she was hurting me and all she said was "oh." Next she decided without asking me that she would cut a vertical strip of my nail and when she couldn't get the root she kept tugging at it even after I told her she was hurting me. I have been getting pedicures my entire adult life and do not understand why this teenager decided to do this! I have never had an ingrown nail. As a result, it is one week later and the area still hurts and is red. I believe it is infected. I will now have to go to a doctor. I will be sure to notify the Board of Cosmetology my medical results. read more

When I got there at the appointment time, the girl who helped me before saw me but was talking to another customer, but still didn't acknowledge me. It was already 10 minutes passed my appointment time, but I try to be patient and understanding. I waited in total for about 20 minutes. Which just wasn't what I expected after reading the reviews. It was a little frustrating, annoying. I was just kind of left in my seat. Then the girls were chatting and laughing, which I don't mind, but not when I've been waiting over 20 minutes for my service. I decided to just leave. I came here twice, both for gel manicures. The process of being able to book an appointment for me and friends to the general customer service I received was smooth and great. One main perk is that they offer you a free mimosa, tea, or water. Some other great things about this place is that the mood is very relaxing, smells and looks clean, and the staff is patient with you deciding what you want. However, from the two times that I came, something ended up going wrong with my nails within a matter of 2-3 weeks. I've gotten a gel manicure from other places before, but the quality of how my nails came out here weren't the same. One thing about my first trip was that the girl seemed like she was fumbling around with my nails and not too confident about working on them. They ended up looking okay, but that was after quite a few suggestions of where I wanted it fixed.
