Kk is good with blending and mixing colors and she has a great personality, which is why I tipped her so well, it wasn't because she did a flawless job, I'm a sucker for a great personality . HOWEVER, I asked her not to go so deep when cutting my cuticles, it's ok to leave a little bit, at least for me. WELL, I see a little blood, and I stopped her. I don't want to get any infections, because I don't see them cleaning the utensils before use at all, so pray for me. The polish doesn't look sharp at all. I'll start with the pro's. These guys are open on Sunday when many salons aren't and they fit me in as a walk in within 10 minutes despite being very busy. Another pro was their gel polish collection, they have a good selection of more alternative colors like darks and muted pastels which made me happy. Cons. The guy who did my manicure gave zero attention to detail. When filing he pretty much scraped off my skin at the base of my nails. He did almost zero shaping, some of my nails were crooked and some had jagged tips. He also seemed very thrown off by my assertion that I wanted them shaped in-between the round and square shape. Meaning more oval. Another con is he did not take any care to clean the gel from around my nails. Nearly half of my fingernails were glued and connected to my skin behind them. I spent 10-15 minutes at home filing them down and separating my nails from my skin. Perhaps if I had a different person my experience would have been better. Or maybe you just get what you pay for and I have to go to a more expensive place. read more

I was in the area and needed my nails done something serious. Mimi was my technician and she really took her time doing my nails. I picked this really cute color called Honey( the whitish color pictured on the right). Unfortunately the polish was really thin, so Mimi had to add multiple coats in order for it to not be so transparent. Unfortunately when I got home I noticed that although the color looked nice, my actual finger nails looked like elephant toenails... They were shaped all crazy because of the polish. Anywho, I called the following day and made an appointment for my nails to be redone! I've never had to get my nails redone, so it was kinda uncomfortable for me to go back in. However, A and Mimi made up for everything. They got my nails back to normal with a smile... And apology. I would definitely recommend On LA Nails and go back. I've been coming to get my nails fixed here for a very long time. Today was my final straw. I was very disappointed in the service. I had made an appointment at 6 pm with Mimi. She was finishing up with another client and as soon as she was done she went to another client and skipped me ( who booked an appointment) I then spoke to the person in charge and all she had to say was "the appointments had gotten mixed up. I haven't been to this location in literally 6 years. I used to come here since I started doing my nails as a teenager. This place is located at the corner of Crenshaw and Washington. Parking is very limited. The actual shop is not that clean or quiet or even that comfortable, lol. The reason I came here today is because the usual places I get my nails done have been disappointing me as far as color and nail service go. Alll the years that I grew up and spent coming to this location I was never dissatisfied with the final product. Yes the location is not the most comfortable or even cleanest. There are zero spa chairs and really nothing about this spot says spa but they do such a good job. After this recent experience I'm even more convinced that I can come here and never leave with a mediocre job. So again, the reason for my 4star rating is because they do a fantastic job but the place is in desperate need of upgrades. But it's never hurt their clientele and they are still up and running the same after 15+ years so I guess it works for them. read more

The worst nail shop in LA hands down. They charge an extra dollar to use O.P.I nail polish (ok? lol) got acrylics and a pedicure about 4 days ago. Pedicure completely done and fckd up by the second day. Nail polish coming off my acrylics and one of them literally broke putting my shoe on. Listen to the reviews and DO NOT go here! It was new years eve and I needed a fill desperately. Many shops around LA had a 2-3 hr wait time, after driving by this place I called and they said they had a 30 minute wait time so I decided on them. (I should have known in comparison to the other shops wait times that this place was a no-go). First thing I noticed was this place was filthy, the cabinet to pick colors was dirty, the glass was smudgey, and the chairs made me uncomfortable just looking at them. During my wait I noticed a girl standing at the fan station to dry her nails (yes you have to stand to dry your hands, and it is right in front of the door), while she's standing her nail tech grabs another customer in line and starts on her nails. The cust is done drying and reminds her nail tech that she also paid for eyebrows, so the nail tech stops on the customer midway and gets up and starts doing this woman's eyebrows while standing AT THE FRONT COUNTER. When she finishes she wipes her hands on her pants and then goes back to the nail customer EW! When I got seated with my tech she sat me at a station that was dirty, still had nail clippings on the towel, and powder and debris all over the table. She shook the towel off and then placed it infront of me, I asked for a fresh towel instead and she was obviously irritated that she had to go get a clean towel. When she started on my fill I already knew I had made a grave mistake. She was more concerned about who in line wanted gel and talking to the other techs. The fill she gave me was lumpy, not smoothed out, thick and uneven, crooked, and the paint job would have been better by a 5 year old. My cuticles were better before I came in. I left with my thumb bleeding, worst cuticles I've ever had, and nails so lumpy it looks like I gave myself a fill with no tools. These nails were so bad that when I went home I removed all the polish and filed and reshaped my own nails. This was the worst nail experience I've ever had and I only logged back on to this yelp acct to warn others. Find another shop!! read more

I was looking for areas that does nails good and not too pricy. Most places I have looked at didn't even do acrylic or is so expensive. My best friend goes to the beauty supply store in the area and I had to go the beauty supply store. I'm the type of person if I'm going somewhere, I look to see what's around the area to explore. I googled what's around the beauty supply store and saw this nail salon. figured this place would be cheaper because it's on Crenshaw. I called asking how much it would be for acrylic fill in. They told me $15. I said wow that's super cheap. I came in and the gentlemen did my nails. I'm the type of person I judge a place according to how many people are there. There were about 2 people waiting so I figured it wasn't bad. The gentleman did my nails. He told me total would be $33. I asked how come he said it's $15 for acrylic fill but they charge extra $2 for longer nails(my nails weren't even that long as you can see in the picture), then they charge another $3 to get the gel polish off which I thought that's part of fill in. I have never got charged for taking polish no matter what it is if I'm doing a refill. Then they charge another $3 for one of my nail that was broken which was expected, then another $10 for gel polish which is normal everywhere. I was just thrown off when they said they charge for the length and taking gel polish off. At that point I was already there and needed my nails done so I didn't care. The first two times I came in as a walk in, I had two very sweet girls who did a great job on my gel polish change. Sad that I didn't get their names or else I'd possibly come back. The third and fourth (last time) I went in, I got two people who absolutely did not care about what they were doing at all. They were rough and very sloppy. They got gel all over my skin and did barely anything to fix it after I pointed it out. I think there was gel or something underneath my nail too because something kept poking and hurting me! Another time they cut my skin with the nail file, I was bleeding and sore for days. Not only is the service and quality of work inconsistent, this place is a filthy mess! I thought about getting a full manicure a few times but I was afraid I might catch something, so I just stuck with my polish changes. This is a no frills, no thrills kind of place. It took me in as a walk-in & got the job done (on the cheap)... hence the 2stars. However, they seem to lack detail (for both the client & the work being done). Pros: *Despite all 12 stations being occupied & with people waiting, I waited at most 15 minutes to be seen as a walk-in for a gel mani. Got to give them props for that. *They definitely have a clientele, which says a lot. All stations remained occupied with a steady flow of clients coming in the entire hour I was there. *My gel mani set me back $21. Not too shabby. These are some of my gripes: *Parking is tight. Literally. The parking lot only accommodates compact cars & many of the spaces are reserved for the other shops in this strip mall. The nail shop only has 1-2 spaces reserved. *Its a cash only spot. *Their idea of sanitizing tools is adding a bit of alcohol to it after use. BIG turn off. *My girl seemed to be distracted as she was doing my nails & nicked me. It wasn't until I winced that she gave me her full attention. *They don't have a wide selection of good polish. Don't expect Essie and O.P.I. to line their shelves, which is pretty standard polish even at the sh*tiest of nail shops. *The mani wasn't done with the highest quality. I can see bubbles and streaks. *Side note: I only got a gel mani, but was observing the lady waxing. She went from station to station waxing people's faces & not once did she throw out the stick for the wax. They're not that expensive, I'd suggest using a new one for each client. *They don't use hand coverings for their UV machine. So, use sunscreen prior! *This is the first nail shop that I've been to in all my years that doesn't do a little hand massage/rub down after a mani. She unenthusiastically added cuticle oil (Cuticle oil? Seriously?! How about a little lotion!) to my hands and barely rubbed it in. I was left with oily hands after. Thanks! The nail tech was about to use the cuticle nipper on my hands with someone elses skin all over it! She didnt look too happy when I asked for another one! The next one was also nasty!!!!! I have an issue where the big toe on one of my feet grows weird so I get acrylic on that 1 toe and if you've ever had to get acrylic on your toe then you know that getting it to look natural is not easy but when I tell u that MiMi comes thru she COMES THRU! She not only has me looking natural she takes care of my real nail underneath! She takes pride in her work and doesn't rush. Loud customers and even louder mariachi music from the mexican restaurant next door...don't come here looking for too much relaxation lol. The walk-in wait was pretty lengthy...about 30-40 min on a tuesday afternoon. Overall they did a good job for the price...$20 for a mani-pedi AND they also offer eyelash extensions for $15-20. There were lots of women coming in for eyelashes and the woman doing them was doing a great job so I decided to try them out...definitely worth the price. My only reason for trying this salon: They are one of the few salons that was open on Sunday that could accommodate a walk-in. My nails were in bad shape, so I came in for basic mani-pedi service. The wait time ended up being over an hour and another hour to get my mani-pedi done. I was at the salon around 2.5 hours total. (Note: I asked the owner if making an appointment would help me get serviced right away and he said not on the weekends.) The salon itself is pretty raw (aka ghetto) and if you're particular about sanitation, cleanliness, and etc., go somewhere else. This place is far from those things. But their prices are dirt cheap: Mani-Pedi combo: $20. Gel Nails: $25 (I think?) Full Acrylic Set: $15 or $18. Eyebrow: $7 Eyelashes (Extensions): $20+ Lastly, they don't have OPI, Essie, Orly, and other well known/high quality salon brands. Judging by how my polish already chipped off from my toes after one day, I'm guessing their polishes are poor quality (generic no name brand of polishes). Went to On LA Nails the day of a big event. This was my first time there. I went for a mani-pedi. Explained I did NOT want my nails shaped as I have a natural curve to my nails. However, I did agree to have my toe nails clipped but I did not want square or round. My request were overlooked. I kept telling the girl not to clip my nails all she could do was grin, smile and hum (they don't speak English). So I notice she's clipping my nails, I again tell her to stop. Then another semi-English speaking lady comes over and I again explain, no clipping. I'm so focused on my hands, I take focus off my toes. I look down and now I got square toes. All she could tell me was "I'm sorry." You done already ruined my nails. Sorry, can't fix it. I will not be going back to this establishment. read more

Kim is the best for eyebrows, she's the only one that has ever done my eyebrows without screwing up. Meme is amazing too, has so much patience and does amazing manicures without hurting you.
