Arrived for a Friday afternoon pedicure with Mariho and found the front desk woman to be quite standoffish/unfriendly. However, I had my pedicure done by Mariho and she did an outstanding job! I had it done outside for the open air feel and while it was nice -- the sight of spiders terrified me a bit and made it slightly difficult to relax. Most of the stars for this review go to the woman who did my pedicure and not the establishment itself. Additionally, it was a bit noisy in the back where the outdoor space is and obviously that isn't the fault of the salon. However, I think it makes me reconsider this location as a place I'd frequent as the indoor space is quite crammed. read more

What a nice atmosphere! Was a nice sunny day with a bit of a breeze so the outdoor patio area was a perfect setting. Cute environment and Hailey was super nice. Seemed like all the employees are genuinely nice people. My pedicure turned out great and I can't wait to see how much longer the Dazzle Dry lasts than your standard Opi polish. Will return! Park on Cattaraugus. read more

Common Canvas is SUCH a gem -- probably one of the best nail salons I've ever been to. I was worked on by Mariho & Sandra and they both did a phenomenal job! This was my first time trying Dazle Dry polish & I love it!! It's like having the great benefits of gel polish in a regular polish. Will definitely be back! read more

Totally worth the drive to Common Canvas. I don't live in Culver City but this nail salon has Dazzle Dry Nail Polish! My friend got her nails done there a few weeks ago and when I recently saw her she was telling me about her service and how long her nails lasted! When she told me it Dazzle Dry Polish I immediately booked my appointment. I booked a mani/pedi with Mariho and she did an awesome job! She also does nail art too! The vibe of the nail salon is a wonderful indoor/outdoor space. I love how it's not overcrowded like your typical nail place. Friendly and professional in a boutique setting. If you're not familiar with Dazzle Dry Polish it's non-toxic and quick drying! When I mean quick drying, I seriously mean in 5 minutes. Also, the owner has an great selection of colors. So many to choose from! The largest Dazzle Dry selection I've ever seen. One quick note about parking. It's LA so it's street parking on Venice or around the corner on Cattaraugus but at least it's free (no meters). If you have time just park at Helms Bakery and grab lunch at Father's Office or Pasta Sisters after your appointment. Overall my experience will now be a part of my self care beauty routine. I highly recommend this nail salon. read more

Where do I start.. this is my go-to spot for natural manicures and pedicures. The quality is great and always consistent, the pricing is fair, and it's worth every penny. Paulia and Mariho are not only skilled but also super personable. The vibe and aesthetic of the shop is beautifully curated -- it truly feels like an elevated, relaxing escape. Also, highly recommend joining their membership. 10/10. read more

We purchased a gift certificate for my mom's birthday who's very covid-safe. We had found this place online and we're immediately drawn to their outdoor setting. It turned out to be a great experience with great customer service and quality of service. She was very satisfied with her pedicure and thought Angelica did a great job. Can't wait to try this place out for myself! read more

With this pandemic, it's been extremely difficult to find something fun to do for a special event. When I found Common Canvas, it looked super cute and seemed like a safe space to have my birthday. And I'm so happy to say, it entirely *exceeded* my expectations!! From beginning to end, the owner, Clarissa, was incredibly kind, informative, and clear about what to expect. She even helped me out with finding places to eat and shop afterwards! In addition to our great interaction with Clarissa, the staff was also very kind and grea at what they do! The decor you'll see from pictures is obviously beautiful and Instagram-worthy for sure, but Clarissa's team is also very talented. Everyone in my group was extremely pleased with their manicures and pedicures. So for those of you who think they may compromise quality for the ambiance of the space, that's totally not true. You'll leave with beautiful nails and a lovely experience!! Thank you Clarissa and your team for accommodating my group (my 1-year old son included!) and making my birthday so wonderful! I can't wait to spread the word and I'll be back very soon!!!! ***Last things to consider- 1. The place is on a Main Street, but you'll see street parking in front of the building or behind in the residential area. 2. The space can only hold a specific amount of people. You'll have to check ahead of time for your group size. 3. This place is really close to The Platform for shopping/eats, as well as other yummy restaurants in Culver City like Pasta Sisters! This is a great place to start off a fun day. 4. For safety precautions, you're required to sign a waiver form, get your temperature checked upon arrival, and seating is actually more than 6 feet apart outside! Everyone is required to wear masks and it's very apparent they take sanitizing and cleanliness seriously. We weren't worried at all! read more

I'm so glad I found this place! I'm grateful they have the outdoor option and are very strict with protocols. It let me truly relax knowing every pre auction was being taken. It's located on Venice Blvd, so I got street parking out front. The curb appeal is nothing to speak of, and I wasn't sure I was in the right place. But then I opened the door and entered an oasis! Beautiful peaceful aesthetic with top notch care. There was some glitch in their scheduling program when I came but they rearranged a few things and were able to accommodate me anyway. Impressed! This is my new go-to place for an (almost) post-pandemic world. read more

We decided to come here for a girl's date for our friend's baby sprinkle. Clarissa was so accommodating & the nail technicians were so sweet and talented. Since my friend and I are pregnant, they made sure we were comfortable. All nail polishes are non-toxic and the fact that the set up outside is so beautiful and clean makes the experience so wonderful. I highly recommend for a great experience with girlfriends or as a mommy and me date, they have the cutest wicker peacock chairs for little kids too! It's adorable. read more

I had a great first experience at Common Canvas. The boutique is beautiful and the vibe is very calming. I was lucky to get a weekend appointment! I received a Dazzle Dry mani. It was my first time with the product and the staff told me about why it lasts longer and the process they do (only because I was asking about it). 12 days later, still no chips! Amazing. I love supporting Asian owned women owned businesses. Can't wait to book my next pamper sesh. read more

I just want to start off by saying everyone at Common Canvas was genuinely nice, the place is beautiful and relaxing. I came across Common Canvas when I was looking for a redo on my gel overlay that was done elsewhere and didn't last week. I made an appointment and Clarissa called me to confirm and to go over the condition of my nails to make sure I booked the right services. That was reassuring and made me feel pretty comfortable about my upcoming appointment. Nancy, the nail artist did a great job on my natural nails and gave me an amazing gel manicure. The service was EXCELLENT!!! Definitely going back. read more

Came in to pamper myself for a late bday present. This was my 2nd visit, really enjoyed my 1st visit that is why I decided to come back & was considering becoming a member since this place has everything I have been looking for. But unfortunately this 2nd visit, wasn't how I expected it to be. Let me just say my nail tech was awesome. He did an amazing job on my pedi but once it was time for my gel x, I left mid way through the process he was rushing to finish asap for his next appointment since I was left so much harden glue. :( I don't think the end results were worth for how much I paid. Truly wish the outcome was better on my nails. Overall was left unhappy for my 2nd visit. read more

I had been wanting to schedule an appt to get my nails done for the longest time, but never got the chance. Seeing the photos online, I saw how cute it was and even had an outdoor area, as its the perfect spot on a sunny day. I booked a mani and pedi with dazzle dry with Paulina. For being my first time here, it was a great experience! Paulina did such an amazing job with my nails and I loved our convos. I decided to sit outside, as it was such a nice day. I did the dazzle dry, as I've tried it before and its truly amazing. It's a cute little spot and would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The prices are very reasonable, the service is great, and definitely a cute spot. I've had my mani for about a week and still look great! read more

I hate leaving bad reviews... I've been here twice and it was a great experience and had been really excited thinking I had found my new nail place. I went in today and it was not great. I had made an appointment for a gel mani and pedi a month ago in person when I finished my last appointment. Today they did my pedicure and for some reason only booked me for gel removal on my nails which makes no sense, especially because I booked a gel manicure. I'm so upset I'm walking out of the salon with nothing on my nails as they will surely break and it's taken me forever to grow them out. Not to mention I drove 45 mins here and took the afternoon off work just to have this appointment. Now I'm leaving worse than I came in and will have to desperately try to find another salon to fix this mess. Huge time waste. read more

Really happy with this place! I chose it because they have an outside area. I booked a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. I called the day before to confirm that my appointment would be outside, and was told that they don't do gel manicures outside. I'm glad I called because I was able to switch my manicure to a Dazzle Dry manicure, which would be outside. Mariho did my both my mani and pedi and she was wonderful! I was really happy with how it came out. My appointment was at 1:15 for my mani and it was nice and sunny/hot, but by 2:15, it was super cold and I wish I would have brought a sweater. Mariho was kind enough to offer me a blanket, but I declined. Bring a sweater or jacket if you are outside to prepare for this crazy LA weather we are having. The only thing I was wondering about/concerned about was that I thought it was mandatory for nail salons in Los Angeles to ask for vaccination proof now, and no one asked me for this when I checked in. Maybe because I sat outside? I didn't see anything about that on their website either. read more

I just had such a relaxing and awesome first-time experience at Common Canvas! I had a pedicure with the callous removal with hydrating cream. I usually go to nail salons and expect to cringe at something that doesn't look clean or the smell or the ambience. But I'm over the moon after my experience at Common Canvas. Great vibe. Sandra did my mani-pedi and we had a great conversation but ALSO she did a great job! And the owner (sorry didn't catch her name) was very thoughtful in bringing to my attention a cruelty free nail paint that I might like. She clearly cares deeply about her business and the customer experience. I've never said this about a nail salon - but I look forward to being back. I hope their schedule will be open when I need an appointment. Give yourself a treat and go here. They also have an outdoor space. I can't say enough good things about this place.
