My mom used this nail shop all the time. I recall them upsetting her due to unprofessional behavior. My mom past about 5 years ago. We had to go into L.A. for my daughter and to visit dad. I needed a fill BAD! I decided to give them a chance. My mistake! I got my nails done the day before my birthday. I decided on Chrome polish. The nails looked fine for a while, but within 24 hours(if that long), some of my nails began to bubble. There was visible black polish (coat needed to create Chrome look). The bubbles continued to worsen, so i tried to smooth it with my fingers. Today, 4 days later, my polish began to peel off of one finger. I peeled most of it off but noticed the black polish is getting al over my hands. I had to use alcohol to get it off my fingers. Used cuticle nippers to get the rest off, then had the file the remainder off. DON'T RECOMMEND! read more

She deleted my original review. So Ima write it again. Ive never had a major problem with her until last month. Two of my nails started lifting 3 days after my appointment. I sent her a message and she responded quickly. The repair appointment was the following Friday around 430. She sent me the 1st message but I didn't respond because I was at work. The issue started when she sent the 2nd one. Ive been going to Val since 2020/2021. She will say something aggressive/bitchy and when I match her energy she backs off and changes her tone. Making it seem like it's not how she meant to say it. So the message is basically rushing me to come in because she had "prior personal matters to take care of". I felt rushed so I told her to cancel my appointment and we can reschedule. As she had personal matters to tend to. The following appointment was Saturday or Sunday. I misread the time and showed up 30 mins after my appointment. She took me in. Which is why I didnt want to write a review. But during the repair appointment she didn't apologize for her message or addressed the situation. Okay so now my next appointment was for Sunday and 5pm. I was sitting in my car waiting for 5 when I start getting notifications that she canceled ALL my appointments. She has a 15 minute late policy. If you arrive 15 mins you get charged half your appointment. She canceled all my appointments between 451-454. I live in Lancaster thats over an hour drive to Culver City. She could've sent me courtesy text or waited for me to go inside but she didn't... Another situation I had with her...I used to work overnights, I went in after work one time and I had just finished eating hot wings. This was when she was working out of her living rooms *just to so my fucking loyalty* I had some sauce under my nails. So to my face shes like it's okay no worries. Then I went to her salon appointment I had apologized for my hands being dirty *I smoke and had residue on my hands* she goes like girl dont worry. Someone came in with nasty chicken wings on their hands. I stopped and looked up at her and told her girl that was me. Her face when numb and she went dead silent. She tried to change the subject but the damage was already done. From that moment on I knew what kind of a person she was. During our appointment she would also talk about her other clients personal business to me. She also talks about her neighbors businesses failing for not having enough business to pay rent. For future clients BE careful sharing your personal information with her. Cause once you tell her something her entire clientele will know about you with you knowing them. 0 stars if I could! read more

Very kind owner/operator. It wasn't evident this was a home-based business. I personally was concerned about how prepped the space was as far as Covid and overall business cleanliness. She was very attentive to the job. I do wish she would have been honest about me being her first French tip. I would have considered a color and a different style. I can tell she's invested a lot and I had empathy, but it was very overpriced. There are two dogs, so if you aren't comfortable, just let her know in advance. I would consider her again with a few changes. More experience with French non-gel pedicures, more salon feel and soft heels. I'm not accustom to checking behind the job and when I felt my heels they feel the same way they did before I left my home. I'm disappointed that I overpaid. read more

Valerie is an awesome nail tech. You will not regret visiting to her. She is professional and knowledgeable. Her salon is welcoming and clean. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. The products she use are top quality. While getting a mani, pedi, or nail extensions, you will appreciate listening to some relaxing music or watching Netflix, enjoying a snack or two, staying hydrated, wit a nice candle in the background. The experience at Esselle Nails is unique as it is challenging to find a nail shop in a private suite atmosphere with reasonable prices. Valerie is super talented and takes her time.
