I've been going here for a couple of years and finally found my nail girl. They are usually good with their appointments (late but, whatever), but yesterday they called me and asked if they could reschedule my appointment to a later time because they had double booked my Nail Tech. I told them no because I have work at three in Culver City and I cannot do a later time. They told me we would start at 1:30 and have me out at 2:30. I called this morning to confirm my appointment time to which they even said it was 1 PM not 1:30 which was even better as that was my original time. I get to my appointment at 1pm and 15 minutes into the appointment start time they told me that she's not going to be here until 230 and asked if that would be OK for me. I said no and that we had had a conversation about it yesterday and this morning that my appointment time would be 1 o'clock today. Then he tried to tell me that she had an emergency and I said I know that she doesn't because yesterday they told me she was double booked. We were scheduled for Sunday at 2 PM which they confirmed would work for me and then at 11:45 on Sunday They asked me if I could come in right now because of an emergency with her grandmother. If that was really the situation and it was that serious, they never should have booked me on Sunday at all. If someone is on their deathbed, you don't book clients for their caretaker. I am in this industry, I do lashes and so I understand what the booking system is like. It's very disappointing to not only confirm my tech and my appointment time but then to be lied to. read more

Needed a last minute full set to be done and came here based on the reviews. I booked online for a mani pedi and builder gel medium length. Not sure why they ask for detailed booking when they just ask you again in person. They printed out a receipt with the services listed too, but when the nail tech came she asked me and I told her builder gel but in the end, she did gel x on me. Not what I ordered? I also did not get a mani at all (it's ok I wasn't charged for it at least). I asked for a cat eye French tip and showed some examples. In the end she wasn't able to do it because the polish I chose was more sheer/jelly but I felt that they should have advised that and/or suggest another option? In the end I thought the end result looked fine from far away but up close there's a lot of glue under the nails and you can see the messy work through the sheerness of the polish. Pedi was fine although I got the royal pedi and the massage wasn't that satisfying. read more

I've been here twice so far and plan to keep coming back. First time I got a basic mani pedi and that was fine. Second time I asked for a gelx set. Tom did my nails. I gave him an inspo pic and he did such a good job! I'm really happy with them. Rose did my pedi and also did a great job. Their booking system could be improved because they don't show you which techs are actually available at the time, and if you pick one that isn't available they simply cancel the reservation. Offering to reschedule would have been nice. read more

Calista is the sweetest person and makes every visit feel special from the moment I walk in. She's just a cutie! And Eric is incredible. He does the best Gel-X manicures I've ever had. He's amazingly fast and efficient, but every set still comes out beautiful. Have gone to MOI a lot and never had an issue until today. Went to get a new gel x set and my nail tech Ben decided to go the lazy route and pull off my lifting gel x instead of soaking them or even filing them down. In doing so, he pulled a part of my actual nail off and now my skin under is exposed. I had to cut the appointment short because any acetone on there was burning and the idea of adding gel x on top of my skin sounded extremely painful. I told the lady at the front to just have him finish taking them off so I could leave. She still decided to charge me the full $20 price of the removal even though this was her employee's fault. Also- there were a bunch of mosquitoes in there so my legs got all bit in the process. Overall a really disappointing experience and I don't plan to go back. read more

I was recommended this salon by a friend who books exclusively with Spring (the owner). While her work is solid, I don't think she upholds that same standard across the salon or with the employees she hires. Before booking, I sent in the design I wanted and was recommended to book Layla. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with both her work and her attitude during the appointment. I left with long-term damage to my nails from over-drilling (the worst part), along with very unclean line work, polish on my cuticles and skin, thick and uneven coats, and splotchy airbrush work (I was charged $100 + tip for this). She spent 30 minutes trying to find the right colors and ultimately could only get "close enough." I ended up having to compromise on every single color, and the set was starting to look very incohesive. They continued trying to force colors on me for the rest of the design that weren't a good match instead of acknowledging they didn't have the proper ones. At that point, it was clear the design I wanted wasn't happening. I asked if we could remove it and pick something simpler. Her attitude noticeably shifted as she aggressively filed off the previous work and caused SO MUCH damage to my nail beds. My nails are now tender to the touch in some spots and it will take many months to grow out the damage. The simpler design (which they also said was "easy" and they could do) required airbrushing. The machine wasn't working properly and kept coming out splotchy. She repeatedly asked if it was "okay" before finally attempting to fix and clean the machine. When it came to line work, it was also messy and not crisp. I had to point out multiple areas that needed fixing, which is concerning since those are things a nail tech should be able to catch on their own. There was also areas that were bulky from uneven application of polish which she didn't fix and said was "ok after top coat" . Overall, it felt like she was trying to get away with the lowest level of work that a customer will accept. After the appointment I reached out 3 times over the course of a week to the business phone number and received no response. I eventually contacted Spring directly and heard back a few days later. I was offered $20 "as a gesture," which honestly felt insulting given the damage and overall low quality experience. It seems like they knew I wasn't coming back anyway so there was no point in doing the right thing. Only after I declined (as I would prefer to warn people with an honest review) did she offer $50 which is still below even half my total bill. It doesn't feel fair to charge customers for services when the mark was not met for ALL of them (gel manicure, airbrush, and design) let alone additional nail damage. This experience made it clear where Layla and MOI Nail's quality bar is and how little care is put into making things right. read more

Extremely disappointing experience and some of the worst customer service I've received from a nail salon. My nails were not done well the first time, and unsurprisingly, one of them broke shortly afterward. I contacted the salon to have it fixed, only to deal with terrible appointment management and a complete lack of respect for my time. I came in expecting them to simply correct the work I had already paid for. Instead, I waited 30 minutes and they still could not see me to fix ONE nail. At that point, I left. What makes this especially frustrating is that I wouldn't have needed to come back in the first place if my nails had been done properly. If a customer has to return because of the quality of your work, the bare minimum is to make fixing it a priority -- not make them sit around because you've poorly managed your appointment schedule and then fail to accommodate them at all. Mistakes happen. Nails break. What separates a good business from a bad one is how they handle those situations. This salon managed to combine poor-quality work with poor scheduling and even worse customer service. I paid for a service that didn't hold up, wasted additional time coming back to have it corrected, waited 30 minutes, and ultimately left without them even fixing the problem. I would not recommend this salon and will absolutely not be returning. There are far too many nail salons that value their customers' time and stand behind their work to justify spending money somewhere that does neither. read more

So I'm running another review I was gonna go over there, but what's the reasoning of going back over there when my kids are not gonna come back down to go to this place again so again I'm very disappointed on the way that the technician treated my granddaughter and the way that she did her nails. This is my first time here - I was referred by the Lomita shop "T Nails" where I had a great experience with my pedicure. This place is closer to my home, so I gave it a try. Billy did a great job on my Gel X. It looks really natural and I'm happy with the work overall. My pedicure was...okay. Not too great but just meh. I have thick cuticles so I was expecting to get the same result as I did in Lomita - my toes just felt way relaxed and my big toes didn't hurt at the edge...so like I said..it was meh, my toes look ok but I don't think worth the price. Now LAST & DEFINITELY NOT GETTING EVRR AGAIN - WAX. I prefer if they just say they don't have a room for this. Obviously getting your eyebrows waxed laying down is hella different from getting them done on a chair AND IM NOT HAPPY AT ALL, especially because the wax came at a price of $25 AND WAS 1. Not waxed correctly 2. Messed up my eyebrow (over waxed my arch!) I said I wanted a clean up and she went HAM on my arch...AND at the same time, (as you can see on the photo close up, which I did when I got into my car with my sun-visor mirror, where you can see EVERYThing) THERE ARE STILL HAIRS HERE! FOR $25 dollars!!!! Obviously LESSON LEARNED HERE . Although closer to home, I best stay away. I'm not happy with the wax at all (had to get home and pluck my eyebrows ANWAY!) and I know I should've said something there, but the mirror the lady used to "check" was the size of a compact mirror, so it's not like 1.
