Very clean, cute little salon within walking distance of my house. I visited for the first time this morning to get a gel mani and spa pedi for my upcoming vacation to Japan. They started work right on time for my appointment, and it only took 45 minutes total. My nails look and feel great. The ladies were polite and efficient and they did a great job. One star off because the salon changed my 10 am appointment to a 9:30 am appointment two days before without asking me first. I had to rearrange some things to accommodate the 30-minute earlier time change on a Monday, which is typically a busy day for me. Anyway, I showed up at 9:30 and everything went well. I don't get my nails done very often,but I will definitely return. The prices are on par with other salons in the area. read more

Had a beautiful experience from the smiles and warm welcome walking in the door to the plethora of color choices, clean and comfortable seating and pedicure station, and dual service. Many choices on the pedicure from classic all the way to ultra ranging from $45-65. I chose the spa pedicure and it was great, included 10 min foot massage and she even did a lymphatic drain from my ankles. I was in and about in an hour with two high quality services and they both paid attention to details without having to ask or point out anything missed in the service. Before I found 9192 Nails, getting my nails done felt like such a long and unpredictable process. I often wouldn't like how they came out and sometimes it would take, like, 2.5 hours. This place has been a game changer. They make it easy to make an appointment, generally run on time (but also give you grace if you're occasionally running late), work quickly (but with care), and are just friendly, hard-working people that make getting your nails done a nice quick break instead of a whole process. I am typically in and out in about an hour-- sometimes a little more or less depending on what I do. I have never found a place that comes even close to all of these factors-- quality work, easy to book, good vibes, works quickly, reasonably priced, and so much more. LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS!! Definitely avoid this place. I'm convinced all of the good reviews have never been to a reputable nail salon before, because saying this is the best work they've ever received is insane. I read the reviews and decided to give it a chance, but this turned out to be one of the worst salon experiences I've ever had. I booked with Emma, the owner, and the salon being completely empty when I arrived should've been my first warning. From the start, the service was careless. She filed off my previous gel and let the dust collect all over my hands without wiping anything away until she finished every nail. As someone who has had contact dermatitis from gel dust, this was infuriating and completely unprofessional. There was literally stool dust on my nails when she put cuticle oil and lotion onto. After she finished I went to the bathroom immediately to wash everything off. She also worked on my nails on top of all the sample color swatches even after I told her she could move them. The manicure itself was sloppy. She didn't fill the gel to the cuticle, so my nails looked grown out immediately. The shaping was uneven, with visible pieces sticking out. When I asked her to address it, she just clipped off parts of the nail rather than fixing the shape--and still left them uneven, with a noticeable gap from where she never filled the gel properly. Then came the designs. I had asked for a tortoise-shell design with 3D gold accents. She confidently told me she could do it--including the 3D gold twice--but what she delivered was not even close. Each tortoise-shell nail looked completely different from the others, as if she used a different technique on every finger. There was no consistency or resemblance to the photo I showed her. For the gold design, she didn't even attempt the 3D effect. She just painted flat gold circles. I even asked ahead of time whether adding the gold accents would change the price and she explicitly told me no. But later, when I asked for a refund, she tried to claim I "got it for free" because she "didn't charge extra"--as if that somehow excused the fact that she didn't perform the design correctly in the first place. To be fair, I did tell her the nails were fine while she was doing them--but only because I wasn't wearing my glasses and genuinely couldn't see the details. The second I got to my car and saw everything clearly, I realized how bad they were. I went back inside within 10 minutes, not hours or days later. So I genuinely don't understand how she can use me saying they were fine as an excuse when I clearly recognized the issues immediately and returned almost instantly. When I went back in, she had already left. Her employees refused to fix or refund anything and told me to call her directly. When I did, she refused a refund, blamed me for "choosing the colors" (even though I told her to choose what matched the design), and only offered to repaint everything a single color the next day--ignoring the bad shaping, the incomplete fill, and the botched designs entirely. I paid for each design, yet her solution was to offer me a service worth less, a single color on all nails, for the price I paid for designs. I event offered her to refund $20 and call it a day. But she kept saying "she can't offer a refund", which is BS. She's the owner, she can do whatever she wants, she just didn't want to give a refund. I spent over $80 + tip on nails I was genuinely excited for, and she delivered poor work with zero accountability. I will absolutely be reporting this, and I strongly recommend staying far away from this salon. read more

I really like this salon. I've been twice. The second time, I got a gel fill. It was done well and I have received many compliments on the shape and natural finish. There are just a couple things that were hiccups for me, but these things wouldn't keep me from coming back: - I was charged the price for a full structured gel (though mine was a fill). It wasn't too much difference cost wise so not a huge deal, but just something I noted. - I came back after leaving because there was some lifting on my thumb nail. I felt a little invalidated because they said there wasn't actually lifting but that they'd fix it anyway. Generally it's a good to take the customer at their word and not invalidate them. I felt a little slighted, but didn't take it to heart. They fixed the issue in less than 5 minutes, but I felt a little unsure after that interaction. I gave it a few days and decided I'd still come back and would like to keep supporting this small business. We all have tough days and maybe they were under some stress. Within nine days, one of the nails broke off unexpectedly even though I wasn't doing anything that would normally cause that to happen. They use really great quality products for the gel X as well so they should stay on pretty sturdy. I like a very particular shape - kind of like a fat almond/stiletto hybrid. THEY UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT can't say enough good things about 9192 Nails. Only downside is that I had a tricky time finding the salon but as soon as I called they were able to help guide me. I never quite got a chance to see the official menu to see services and pricing but I got everything I needed. A pedicure to start, a full set and an eyebrow wax and clean up. The pedicure was quick, I cannot remember if it came with a massage as they usually do. Because it was so quick! However, as someone coming in during work hours on a lunch break I was ok with it. I couldn't decide on what to do with my manicure so I kept going back and forth and both nail techs let me take my time and helped me bring the vision to life. I ended up doing a mix match of orange and green with yellow airbrush to create this epic Palm Springs, brat summer, Splash House look to match my outfits that is soooo SLAY! The woman doing my nails took her time in letting me pick the length and checking the process after everything. I tried stiletto for the first time and I honestly love it. Would recommend and can't wait to go back for a natural almond on the future. If you are unsure, make the appointment! Quick tip, park in the Marina Marketplace parking structure that is labeled for Gelson's. Take the escalator up and walk towards the AMC, they are in the Phoenix Salons building on the right in their own studio room.
