I came in for my eyelashes. The place was pretty clean and cute inside. The reason for two stars is while my lashes LOOK good they are full of glue, thick and hurt my eyes. I've have had a lash artist out lashes from underneath my eye. Closing my eyes is difficult and she poked me a couple times. I might have to get them removed. She was really nice but for $100 I wanted better. The corner of my eye where I was poked the most is still hurting me a day later. Also this was done on a couch not a lash room or table. I used to come here pre pandemic to get my lashes done, but havent been in a few years. I came in last minute to get my lashes done today because Im going on vacay. I really think they are under mew management because there was no one working that I recognized . I sit in the chair and the tech proceeds to douse my eye over and over with liquid. Literally just pooring and pooring liquid directly on my eye with no warning. It got into my eye and started buring and I kept saying calmly that it was burning and asking for a wet towel. The lash tech doesnt understand English, literally. But what I cant understand is why the man who answered the phone and DOES speak English is sitting there doing nothing. Finally I had to ask someone tell her its burning my eye. I need a wet towel. I asked what she had used and asked that we not use any more of it. She then tells me she doesnt want to do my lashes anymore. Frankly I probably dodged a bullet. I dont get my lashes done all the time, but I dont recall having my eyeballs water boarded in any previous lash appointments. I frankly question her skills and someone in the shop needs to help her communicate and get off their phones when someone is saying over and over their eye is burning. WTF?! Like lets teach sis some important English words like burning and stop. So on the way out I tell the man, "I didnt mean to offend her, but my eye was burning and I said it over and over. ( dip powder way to thick, uneven nails, powder dried and left on multiple fingers and the list continues. Love my nails!!! I hardly get my nails done but when I do I'm very specific about how I like them done. I got a full set ombré acrylic coffin set and a basic pedi which ended up $80 total. The price is reasonable and I'm in love with the mani! There are a couple of things off which I look off one star for. There's tiny specks in one nail and my thumb is slightly crooked. The appointment time was about 1.5 hours. The salon is very pretty and the employees are nice although they don't really talk much! Overall I will definitely be visiting again! read more

Go there at your own risk, cheap acrylic cheap everything my nails barely lasted a week and Were breaking and lifting from the bottom. Don't go there fake customer service and lack of empathy... When I came back to get my nails fixed I let them know that three nails broke in less than a week and they all gather together in spoke in their language and didn't say anything to me I sat there for a minute and then I asked when was I going to be assisted and then the lady who did my nails says she would do it when she's finished I guess but didn't give me a timeframe. I sat there for 2 1/2 hours before she even got to do my nails, she was so insensitive and impatient when it was time to remove the nail that was hurting me. I hate this shop Fr she only deserves one star, she lucky I don't remember her name but hope whoever reads this has a better experience read more

This nail shop specializes in pedicures only! Please do not go for acrylics! You will be disappointed! I went in yesterday for a full set. The nail tech at the time, asked me to show her a picture of how I wanted my nails. I showed her a picture. She had difficulty finding the right size to put over my natural nail (she was rushing). When I told her the nails didn't fit and were to wide she said she can fix them as she shape them. I literally had on at least 4 different nail shapes; Not one nail, was the same. The first couple of nail techs I tried were okay, but I was honestly considering trying a new salon. so i went one morning when an older man was there i think he maybe the owner or overall supervisor but that morning was the best morning, I loved my acrylics just one correction i made to the young girl doing my nails was that I wanted my powder to be thin not so thick on my cuticles she couldn't understand bc she didnt speak english but he overheard and translated whatever i was saying and she did it no issue, i came last night when he wasn't there .. Big mistake, i got the same people as last time the the guy cut me and snapped at me when i told him the shape i wanted for my toes i said square rounded narrow my sides he yelled " SQUARE OR ROUNDED" he ended up shaping them in literal circles yall ..he started getting rough after that i wanted to get up mid pedicure he cut the side of my toe w the cuticul cutter and didn't apologize i didnt dare let him paint them. BUT i needed my hands done so waited i think what bothers me the most is that if the nail tech cant do a design they wont say it, my ombre looks gross my blue is down way to far not even blending into the pink, i gave the same correction about not wanting so powder spread thickly on my nails and it was like i was speaking jibberish she said ill do one and show you and ended up starting to put the blue on all my nails. im done. good potential but best to go in the morning when the boss is there. they seem to do a better job read more

I get my nails done often, so Im familiar with the process. The lady rushed through my mani & pedi, skipping some of the steps. I had to tell her and she kept trying to say it's okay it'll still turn out nice. Had to repeatedly tell her no & to do it correctly (felt like a btch) and deal with her speaking in her native language to coworkers about me (& no I don't understand/speak their native language, but one can tell by the tone in their dialogue & cackling followed). After telling her how to do a basic mani/pedi (wasn't changing color, acrylics, or anything) I was really satisfied with the results. However, while getting my mani/pedi, they were extremely rude to another customer. The young lady asked if they take walk-ins for a basic acrylic fill. They said yes and had her wait 30 minutes until someone was available. Once they had her at a chair, they said they can't do it anymore and she'd need a whole new set. The young lady told them no, she just wants a fill & they proceeded to make things difficult by saying they don't have the powder for acrylics . . you're a nail salon! like what?? The young lady left frustrated, and returned a couple minutes later to ask if they can just remove it. They refused. I've been coming here twice a month if not once a month since the beginning of 2021. I usually tip $10 when getting a pedicure that's about 40% tip. If I ever only tip five dollars it's only because I felt they rushed through the job. Nothing to write a review over. But today I came in for a gel manicure and a pedicure and I had an unpleasant experience. The last time I came was two weeks ago and I got a white pedicure and the same lady did my pedicure this time. I asked for a French manicure and she told me it would be five dollars more for French tip which is understandable. After she was done with my pedicure she took a lady and did her pedicure right next to me and she got the same thing but she only charged her 25. She also didn't do the callus removal on my feet she only scrub my feet in the water while she was rinsing off the lotion from the massage. The lady next to me got callus removal. It's so disappointing because I love coming here they always do a good job but it's kind of unfair not to be treated like everyone else especially when I tip well. This nail salon is nicely located just off la Brea and Slauson, so I decided to give it a shot as they had an opening for my Mother in law and I to get mani-pedis scheduled just a couple hours after my call on a Saturday evening when everywhere else I called was booked up. It had 4 star reviews so I was excited to try it out. The pedicure was nice- the guy took his time with the massage and the scrubs (I got the Pamper Pedi), but he also cut my nails and created a hangnail basically and then proceeded to pull it while looking at me to see if I would react. When I did because it hurt, he stopped and cut it and kept going with the other toes. When it came to painting I asked for black and silver and showed him a simple pic- it took him a while to find the colors (they ended up being out of the subtle silver I asked for, and I settled for a more glittery silver), and then instead of painting two toes just silver, he painted them all black and then seemed to remember I wanted silver so he painted silver on top of the black, so those two toes have a black border that I know could have been avoided. He did do a good job on the calluses however, my feet are soft and smooth now. Hands- this is where the horror begins. They started the manicure after my feet were done and the old lady that came over was impatient looking- and ridiculously aggressive with my nails. Everything she did hurt- she started by filing my nails down way shorter than they needed to be- and she kept filing my finger skin under the nails like she was trying to make my fingers shorter too. She cleaned under the nails with a really sharp tool and was not gentle about it. Then she trimmed the dead skin around my nails and managed to cut deep twice, on two different fingers! The first time I said Ow, that hurt... and she ignored me. The second time I recoiled a little and again she didn't even notice. Thankfully another poor customer needed something complicated with her toe so she left me to go take care of that, and a third person came to work on my other hand. What was super scary, is that she didn't bother to get new tools or even wash them. Just tossed them on her cart and went to the other lady. The guy who came to me did take his tools over to a sink, but I didn't see any particular soap or sanitizing being done. I showed him the cuts and told him to be extra gentle with my other hand. He was much more gentle, and found the colors much easier, but for some reason kept filing on both fingers even though they were already too short. After painting the nails as requested, he then used the file AGAIN to detach the gel polish from my skin where he hadn't bothered to clean around them with anything but his fingernail and the polish had dried fused to my skin. The result was messy, too short looking nails, with weird edges. I can't wait til they grow out so I can go to my usual place that is a million times better and actually uses new sanitary tools every single time. Avoid this place if you like your nails! I should have gotten up and left when I saw they don't even use clean sterile tools but I am way too nice and my mother in law was still mid-massage on the pedicure at that point. Overall, the experience took 2 hours total for two subpar mani-pedis. read more

I'm so pissed and disappointed with TK Nails today. I have been going there for years. Well, today I needed a broken nail fixed. The set was actually done in Vegas and it was gel on top of a tip. The tech at TK proceeds to put on a new tip. I explained that the tip needs to face downward because my nail beds stick up. He didn't listen and puts it on regular anyway. Then he proceeds to use acrylic when the other nails have gel, so the appearance is also different now. My nail color was a see-through pink, so now the nails are going to match. I'm annoyed, but I let him proceed. Then, I get a phone so I'm not paying attention. When I look up he has changed the shape of all the nails on my right hand. Why tf would he change the shape if I obviously liked the current shape? He should have asked before that. I get off the phone and I'm so upset. I tell him stop because I'm not happy. He gets annoyed, walks away, starts talking to his coworkers, sits in front of me again but is silent. No one tells me that I'll be assisted by someone else. Instead, I just sat there until I realized that no one was going to help. So, I asked how much the broken nail work costs and the another technician, who barely wanted to make eye contact with me, said "don't worry about it." I felt so hurt and insulted in that moment. My toenails were done great! However my nails were AWFUL! i asked for clear tips and my actual nails were not cut down leaving the white tip of my actual nail showing beneath the clear tip and translucent polish. I was asked what length I wanted my nails, but my thumbs were cut uneven leaving them shorter that all the rest of my nails upon completion. One of my thumb nails were filed to the skin because the tip that was placed on said nail wasn't wide enough. The acrylic was slathered on my nail and then filed leaving markation under the clear tip and polish. I will not be returning to this nail salon. read more
