Nail Zone? More like NO-GO-ZONE!! This place used to be my go-to nail spot, but it's under new management and their workers gave me the worst experience of my life.
Mind you, I am not one to complain. I hate confrontation and will avoid it at all costs, but this needs to be put out there so that others can avoid going through what I did.
The experience was awful from the moment I walked through the door. I was barely greeted and despite my efforts to start conversation, the workers had a major attitude for no reason. I went in for a mani-pedi. Not only were they pressuring me to pay more for acrylic, once I said "no thank you, I'll just stick with just gel manicure", they completely started to ignore me and I was no longer a customer or person of importance.
The male nail technician hurried to finish my pedicure, which for the record- wasn't even enjoyable like a pedicure should be- and then asked me to move to a chair where he would do my gel manicure. He was completely ROUGH throughout this whole process, but I didn't say a word. He burned every single one of fingers with the drill, but again, I stayed silent. He didn't ask what shape or length I wanted, which has never happened before. He did the most sloppy paint job I have ever seen. Think that's bad? That's just the beginning.
After my below-average manicure was done, he proceeds to take the cuticle-cutter and dig underneath my nails (???) after the polish is completed. I said kindly "that's alright, they look good, thank you though", but he persisted. He continued to dig under my nails anyways.
Moments later, I feel a sharp pain in my finger, and I look over to see my finger dripping with blood. HE HAD CUT TOO DEEP AND INTO MY REAL NAIL. This man really sat there and acted like it was no big deal. I was in awe and didn't know how to respond. The way he acted about it actually made me feel as if this was inconveniencing him! He calmly told me to rinse my nail under the sink...so I did. For 10 minutes. The bleeding would not stop.
When I sat back in the chair, he picked up my bloody finger and without warning, put a cotton swab immersed in an alcohol-based cleaner into the cut. I literally screeched from the pain, and he continued to try and force the swab into the open wound. I told him very firmly that I will be going to my house to clean it properly myself. He rolled his eyes. (I never received an apology from him, for the record).
*** I uploaded a photo that showed my finger as the bleeding went down and I left the salon***
When it was time to leave, he sent his female manager over to the front to handle the transaction since he didn't want to deal with it himself. She softly said "sorry about that, I can offer 10% off your next visit. That'll be $60."
L O L.
I replied by saying that I will gladly pay for my pedicure but I am not paying for the manicure.
She told me I had no choice, and that I was expected to pay for "at least some of it", or they would have to call the cops! (I was really hoping they would have).
I said that I would gladly wait to speak to the owner of the place if that's what it took, but she told me the owner was "overseas and wouldn't be back for 3 months". What a joke.
The whole thing was an absolute nightmare. The story ends with me paying for ONLY my pedicure, and walking out with a subpar nail job, a bloody finger, and my personal favorite part of the story......
the sound of the nail-tech shouting as I walked out the door, calling me a "cheap bitch." Stay classy, Nail Zone.
If you love overpaying for ugly nails and being treated with disrespect, then this is the place for you.
However; if you want high-quality nails that come with the decency of being treated like an actual human being, then save yourself the time, money, and embarrassment by taking your service elsewhere. read more
