In 2011, my job lost me so I had to take a "balling on a budget break" for a few years and do my own feet. In 2016, I went back to school. In 2017 my identity was used to steal $8600 in student loans. In 2018, two of my In 2020 coronavirus showed the world what it felt like to be black. In 2023, everything that I owned was trashed via an unlawful eviction, taking me from a 1br apt to the spare br at a friend's house and freeing up funds for a mani/pedi and bridging me with Mimi. I came to Mimi (Jasmine) to get my nails done. She came into my life to remind me of how the world should be. She is personable, attentive, funny, honest, and can do some nails. Not just a business owner for profit, Mimi makes you feel valued as a person. At the end of my first visit, she asked me did I feel good and I knew that I had found my nail tech for life. Good neighborhood nail salon with reasonable pricing. I got a regular mani pedi and enjoyed the experience and the results. Both massages were really good! Very relaxing and thoughtful. THEY DON'T EVEN DO NAILS. Don't waste your time... I went to get a full set and pedicure. The guy asked me how long I want my nails, I told him short. He suggested dip powder (SNS) instead of acrylic. I agreed. Half way through my pedicure, he said he can't do my nails. The person who does nails wasn't there. I told him don't worry about finishing my pedicure. I gave the lady who did my pedicure $20. He took it from her. I left. He called the police. I didn't stay so I don't know what happened. But who wants to get their nails and toes done at two different places!? Why were they open?? What if the nail salon I went to didn't have the same color as my toes?? What an inconvenience. I shouldn't have given them the $20. SMH. Run. They don't even do nails. read more

I was in the area for an hour while my son was at a class so I stopped in for a quick manicure. I thought it was odd that I was the only person in the place but was happy to be taken quickly. I had a manicure and SNS and it was done well -- I was shocked (as in the good shocked) at the price, it was way below what I've ever paid before! I don't know if I just got lucky and got a great manicurist (she did tell me it was her first day) but this place is a gem. Got my nails done here on a whim and it was a great decision. Got shellac. Really took care of the nails and cleaned them off before putting the polish on. There was a point where another employee came up to the guy working on my nails to correct some of his technique and I kept wondering, if she had not come up, would my nails have looked botched? I thought it was odd that when I arrived on a Saturday that there was only one customer in the salon but that didn't deter me (it should have). I told the owner I wanted an acrylic fill-in, repair one nail and pedicure. The service was nice and neat. I'm waiting to pay and was told my balance was $75!!! I asked her how was my total so high for an acrylic fill-in? She said my length (my nails are not long) was an extra $10, my polish was $25 and my repair was $4 with a $20 fill-in. She said she gave me a discount....HA!! I told her I have never in my life paid that much for an acrylic full-in and I never will again! RUN!! DO NOT GO TO THIS NAIL SALON!! I only ended up here because Q Nails randomly decided to close on Sundays until February. Great. Well, it just so happened that another patron had pulled up at about the same time and I asked her if she knew of another good shop to to go. She told me about one located in the Grant Park area. Now I can admit that that alone kindof of sold me. She said I could follow her there, so I did. Yes, I followed a stranger to an unknown location. Don't judge me; I like to live on the edge! Anyway, like the previous reviews stated (and I had not read them prior to sitting down in the chair), this place looks a little "sterile" for a nail shop located in such an artsy type of area. However, that's where that image ends. The "massage" chairs aren't all operational, and the vinyl coating is peeling on most of them. They could also use a good sweeping, if you want to let the truth be known. A couple things they do have going in their favor are 1) a "chore chart" of when the tubs are cleaned and by whom and 2) a bottle of bleach cleaner spray at every station. At least that's what it said on the bottle. I didn't smell bleach at all when I sat down but whatever... The pedicure was ok. I thought my pedicurist was a little wimpy with the pumice stone. Sometimes you really just need to get to WORK on people's feet and she left a little to be desired. Now, she did acknowledge that I have soft skin on my feet (I don't let my tootsies get crunchy... believe that!) but I still would have liked to actually feel something. The only thing they have over Q nails is this scrub that they massage into your feet and calves. It's a nice touch! However, she didn't do the design the way I wanted and I was just over it. This experience certainly wasn't worth the $27 price tag ($23 for the basic pedi, $4 for the design)! I was appalled, honestly. I feel like, minus the scrub, they did a half-assed job and charged more than their worth. Whatever. Something that concerns me: I pointed out that she missed applying the top coat on one of my toes. She'd been working on the guy next to me, and instead of taking off or changing her gloves, she just rinsed them off and came back to me *side eye*. Thank God she didn't actually have to touch me, but still. That man could've had Ebola or something on his feet! Lesson of the Day: Stick to what you know, and wait a measly 24 hours for it! Don't go here unless you're okay with getting a foot infection. I wanted to like Nail World since it's close to my house, but I won't be going back.* I have no idea how this place stays in business. I cringed as I watched the woman "clean" the tools in the tub of water and then put them back in the drawer. 1. That's not even close to being an effective sterilization method, and 2. Putting wet tools into a drawer is really gross. I can get past the place being totally sleepy and not having any new magazines. Heck, I can even get past a mediocre paint job, but there's no excuse for poor sanitation practices. *I checked the state's licensing page and from what I can see, Nail World has not been licensed as a nail salon since 2007. read more

I'll start this off by saying I don't write reviews. I love this place. They pull out all the stops for a $30 mani/pedi : I'm talking hot towels, foot / leg massage, scrub, this is the real deal. I've been to other places that charge more for way less. The pedicure experience for me is really about the experience: the massage fair, the foot rubs, the removal of that dead skin (sorry, gross but true!!). I can honestly say I am 100% satisfied with the work done, and it's a really reasonable price to boot!!! Nail World does a fantastic, thorough job on my calluses, I leave with completely smooth heels and toes. A few people mention issues with hygiene, I've been going to Nail World for years now, never had a problem with hygiene or broken chairs! read more

This is super close to me, so I went for an acrylic fill. I don't mind waiting and everyone was polite. However, I asked for my nails to be cut down and they were not. I asked for them to keep the same (almond) shape, and instead my nails were shaped super pointy-- but unevenly! There were no towels to dry your hands after washing. Polish was sloppily applied and a smudge was not corrected (at that point I just wanted to leave as I knew I'd have to get my nails fixed elsewhere). Finally, there was no nail drier and I just had to use the tiny fan at the tech station. But to top everything off $25 for a fill! Definitely won't be going back. I went in not knowing much about SNS or the upkeep/process/experience and my technician was very nice and engaging and I walked out with some awesome nails! read more

I went here a couple weeks ago after my nail tech at my usual place went home and canceled our appt. I typically get SNS ombré pink and white. I needed a pedi too. 1) my total was $85 ???? 2) the lady kept telling me I was "scary bc [I was] too picky" when in reality, she just kept refusing to do what I was asking for! Insult to injury is that she actually did acrylic when i asked for (and paid for) SNS. Although I thought what she was doing felt weird at the time (my nails were burning), I was too frustrated from going back and forth with her to even notice that she was applying acrylic powder and not SNS. My regular nail tech was appalled and i was embarrassed that I went to this place. Save your money and go somewhere else! They're scam artists. read more

While the prices for service are comparable to other shops I've been to, in and around the city, the quality is not. The nail tech lady kept telling me that "I'm picky" when in reality I was asking her to correct the errors she made on my nails. I'm paying for a service so I pay for the shape, length and yes ultimately the final result. So if my nails are not the shape I want them and a bubble is in my polish, best believe I will speak up. Sadly even after asking, very politely btw, for the corrections my nails are still bumpy (not all but 4 out of 10); my ring finger is not matching in shape to the others and my nails just don't simply look fresh. I only came here, despite the mixed reviews mind because my main girl downtown was on vacation. I won't be back to this shop unless for only a pedicure. My pedicure tech was GREAT! He did a fantastic job and my toes are lovely...nails, eh not impressed. See photos for evidence. UPDATED 1 DAY LATER:: My thumb nail is lifting so bad while I was washing dishes it cracked! If I could give NO STARS I WOULD. This place is quit ridiculous. Let me just start with the whole story. I called before coming in and the lady did NOT inform me that they didn't take American Express cards. So I get there. No one is speaking to me because I guess I'm not a regular which is cool. It's my turn and the lady is just grabbing my fingers and doing whatever she pleases. (Just a little rude. And was rushing. It might've been because it was close to closing time though.) But when it gets time to pay, I give her my card and she runs it twice and said it's not working. (I know I forsure had the money in there) and THAN tells me that they don't take American Express and that I SHOUKD LEAVE, GO TO THE ATM AND COME BACK WITH THE CASH. her words. I have a sister and bf who could've brought the money. As soon I step out. She starts following me, saying I need to come back, harassing me. I told her she was welcomed to follow me to the gas station. She didn't. So I went to the one across the street from the salon, a marathon, and a couple other. (Mind you this place is in the hood and I'm a young girl). And literally NONE were working. So I went on the site listed on there google page and PAID THE SAME AMOUNT with one of there e gifts so it can cancel out. This lady blows my phone up, refuses to listen, is constantly threatening me and didn't let me speak. ANF THAN HANGS UP THE PHONE AS IF I'M THE RUDE ONE. I call back. No answer. Than some minuets later she and now the police is blowing me up. I talk to him and get everything sorted out and everything is good with me and the law. But trust me when I saw I have never been so disrespected, terrified, and picked on by a nail salon. I jut wanted a place open on Sunday to get my nails done. And that's the treatment I got. Over the past 20 years, I've probably had hundred's of manicures at 20+ salons; I have never left one feeling traumatized. I wanted to go home and soak my feet in bleach for fear of the infection, I'm afraid is coming. Nail World *looks* like a nice, walk-in, salon but lacks the basic hygienics needed. After they pulled out the "cheese grater", you know that thing that cut/sloughs dead skin from your feet, I watched in horror as the technician "sterilized" the instrument by dipping it in the soapy water my feet had been soaking in. No barbicide. No rinsing. Right back into the tool kit. Need I say more to discourage you? read more

Ugh. I went here for a long time because it is so close to my house, but every visit ended in disappointment. Not only does it feel like a factory with a million chairs lined up and very sterile (in appearance, only) setting, but it felt like my feet were being butchered. They seem to be hurrying to finish everyone so they can move on to the next customer. There are a million polishes in no particular order, but there don't seem to be very many "normal" colors. The people who work there are not very friendly and rarely speak any English. I usually don't care about this, but you definitely get the feeling that they're talking about you in Vietnamese. I never really feel relaxed in there, and I'm always rather disappointed I didn't take a drive further down the road to Inman Park. read more

The pedicure was great. I agree that the name and decor are somewhat sterile for an such an artsy area of the city. I was bored on Saturday and decided to treat myself to the $30 deluxe pedicure at NW, which includes a soak, sugar scrub exfoliation, and hot mud treatment (for lack of knowing what the heck it's called). I cant complain, but I'm not going to say that they have my allegiance, if a new salon came into the East Atlanta/Grant Park area, then I would give 'em a shot. read more

I have been to numerous nail salons since moving to Atlanta. And this is the first and only one that I have been 100% happy with. The customer service is awesome! I had a deluxe pedicure and mani. They take their time, which is great because I was fully able to enjoy my pedicure and mani. I felt as if I were in a spa. They are under new management and from the earlier reviews I will say that this place has made a full 360. The best part is its down the street from my house. Great place to go for a relaxing pedicure! They have given me the best pedicure I have ever had. The nail tech took her time and I didn't feel rushed or ignored. The massage was A1 and really got me to relax and distress. I have been there 5 times now and the Wait time can average 5 to 30 mins. Jasmine the manager is a sweetheart who makes you feel very welcomed! Definitely recommend this place for pedicures. read more
