The generally positive reviews about cleanliness and quality led me here. Seems like every nail salon has a scathing review in/around the area, but I was desperate for a pedicure and this place accepts walk-ins. The nail salon looks pristine. Everything looks brand new and the interior is decorated with glass chandeliers plus tile and beautiful decorative elements. Thankfully another reviewer shared how check-in works. There's a little sign, but the tablet doesn't say "check in." There's a list of all the clients on the screen and I selected "new" where I was then asked to type in basic personal contact information. Someone seated at a nail station asked me what I wanted, and I said pedicure. Then, being used to the idiosyncrasies of nail salons without any front desk staff, I just went to look at polish (great selection) and waited. The wait wasn't long (this was about 3:30pm on a Friday). Everything was going fine until the tech pulled out a tattered, well-worn menu with pedicure options that was completely different than their online menu. I asked for a basic pedicure but that didn't seem to exist. -1 star for misrepresenting services offered. I wouldn't have even walked in the door for a basic pedicure at $37. The pedicure was OK - barely touched cuticles or cleaned under nail. The massage portion lasted about 7 mins but was concentrated on the legs not feet. I'm not sure if/how tools are sanitized between clients. The tech got them from a drawer at her station and returned them there. Polish application was great. Basic standard pedicure. Nothing knocking my socks off enticing me to return though, especially at that price point. No wine (or any refreshment offered) as a previous review mentioned. Good to know: they want cash tips. Someone checking out before me didn't have cash, so they did a separate charge just for tip. read more

did not have a great experience. My nails were long and pretty prior to this. i did want them cut pretty short but they were cut very wonky and hardly shaped at all. she asked me if i wanted square and i said no i want squoval, they ended up super square. every one is a different shape and crooked. the gel polish is gluing the nails to the skin around. i asked for one tip on a nail that broke and she kind of just ignored me. the dip is so thick and uneven. i won't be back but i did have a great pedicure. I got a gel manicure for $40. I made an appointment ahead of time and they saw me, despite them being busy and understaffed. My nail tech was going back and forth between my gel manicure and finishing up another customer's pedicure. He did offer me water or wine, which was nice. This location is a bit understaffed. My gel manicure came out okay. There was a bit of flooding on the side of my nail beds. Also, it did seem a bit rushed. For instance, he did not really take the time to massage my hand afterwards. It was not a bad experience, but I have had better at other nail salons. They do have a parking lot out front as well. read more

not great French tip is like the most basic nail style. They couldn't even do that. Well... my nails look good overall, and the service was fast, but it was too fast. The nail tech was going as quick as she could and was barely paying any attention. She was filing the side of my nail right after she glued them on and somehow cut me with the file. The cut is super deep and I could use my other nails to open it up. She gave me a half you know what apology, meanwhile my finger is bleeding. Then she proceeds to put the liquid on it that you use before the acrylic is applied to the nail. OMG my finger felt like it was on fire!! And the bleeding stopped but it turned the wound a blackish color. I was squirming in my chair, and I have a high pain tolerance mind you. (I have many large and small tattoos). I couldn't take the pain. Then she tries to still file that nail and it starts bleeding again. Hello! Stop reinjuring me! I told her I'll file it myself when the cut heals. So now she squeezes my bleeding finger. And now my blood is on her. I was so angry and kinda grossed out. You don't know if people have blood born pathogens, and she's just grabbing my bleeding finger with no gloves. I have many nurse friends and I've worked in places where I need to take a course in pathogens. All that for $52 dollar nails. And I still tipped because I've worked in the service industry for many years. If you don't have time to do nails, don't just rush and injure people. Tell them not today. Because it still hurts today. It's red and inflamed, and hot to the touch. I can't write or grab anything today with that hand if it touches my red, hot, painful finger. If its still like this tomorrow I'm going to have to go to patient first to get it looked at. read more

I used to always come here to get my brows waxed. I decided to come today for a much needed clean up and left with a horrible mess. The brows I had that took years to correct after a former mishap are now completely ruined. The shape is completely ruined. I had an appt with a friend for pedicures. We were promptly greeted, but were idle for a minute afterward. We then noticed the iPad on the front desk and followed prompts to enter our info for the rewards program. Once finished, someone quickly came up to us telling us where to go next. The polish selection was extensive! I finally found the army green color I've been looking for! We were offered wine or water once seated for our pedicures. The chairs were very comfortable with nice massage settings. The box wine was surprisingly tasty and the man who did my pedicure was thorough and friendly. I didn't catch his name. I have been to this shop on 5 separate occasions. The first time the guy missed my nail and filled my cuticle down, put pain killer on it, and continued to file my skin! Shame on me, gave them a second thru 5th try. Today was it. Won't ever go back. I walked in, 2 people were making worked on and 1 woman was ahead of me. No biggie, I was willing to wait. After an hour ( the person before me had her pedicure done and they were working on her nails) someone brought me polish remover to soak in. 2 more people came in the door. The lady that bright my polish remober, told the lady working on nails next to me to do mine too. And polish remover lady began working on the lady that just walked in. And yes, she was a walk in. I was greeted warmly upon arriving. Without an appointment I was able to get my nails done immediately. Lynn was wonderful, and did an excellent job. The salon is decorated beautifully and played relaxing music. I ended up getting my nails done with dip powder and a pedicure. The products were great and the pedicure chair was very comfortable. I came in on Thursday to get a fill in. The young lady that was doing my nails was not doing them properly. She made all of my nails thin on the left side. I kept telling her that it didn't look right it was a big bump on the right side and almost no acrylic on the left side. She felt like she was finished, we were done I left two days later while on vacation I broke two nails because it was so thin. I come back today to have them fix it and they want to charge me! They want to charge me to fix their mistake. I would have tipped who ever fixed them because I am a good tipper. But I will not recommend this place to anyone based on customer service and the way that they treated me and demanded that I pay for it if I want it fixed! read more

I look forward to my pedicures. Its a luxury that i allow myself every couple months. Sad to say this place was very disappointing. First they give me someone who is just learning. Then they tell me i have to pay extra to have my old polish removed because it was gel and i wasn't replacing it with gel. A 50 minute pedi went on for an 1 1/2 hours because she was needing instruction. Management rude beyond belief. Do yourself a favor and go to Beauty Nails in Elkridge. Stopped in for a pedicure today and it was wonderful! The workers are very nice and speak good English. The place felt very welcoming. It's nicely decorated and smelled so clean and fresh. The pedicure was amazing!! They have great chairs and lots of options to chose from. While I was there, in the middle of the day, there were 3 other customers there and multiple employees. I wanted to love this nail salon after my experience, but my gel manicure literally lasted a few hours... Pros: They're giving 25% off Services now through February. The salon is beautiful, it's very clean, the instruments are properly sterilized, my manicurist took her time and she was very friendly. This is why I'm giving my review 2 stars instead of 1. Cons: As soon as I left the salon and looked closely at my gel manicure in the car, I noticed so many little pieces of lint and fibers (from the little towel on the table) painted into the nail polish - it looked awful closeup! That evening one of my nails chipped, another one chipped the next day, another the next and it got to the point that I had to pay to get a new manicure because my nails looked awful. This is just 4 DAYS after having them done. They also didn't tell me that I had to tip in cash (I didn't have cash on me and there was no ATM) so they had to run my card twice. If you're looking for a nice nail salon experience, this is the place for you. If you're looking to pay $35 for a gel manicure to last more than a few hours, this is not the place for you. The posted hours ON THE FRONT DOOR say Nail Trix is open until 6pm on Sunday. I went in at 5:15 and was told they were closing, "sorry". I get not taking a customer 5 minutes before close, but 45 minutes? Yikes. Hope they can afford to lose business in that location. read more

I have tried several places in Arbutus and this is my favorite. Very impressed with the cleanliness. One of the reasons I stopped going to one of the shops was a toe infection. Here they have a liner for every station. It is more spacious quiet and spa like The chairs are a little further apart. The staff is very pleasant. Pedicure is $6 more than I paid at the other two but it's worth it for a clean and quieter place read more

I went today for a pedicure. Having come here several times before for a full set, several fills, and gel manicures I assumed I was good to go. I initially nearly burned my foot from the temperature of the water. Then, with the first clip of a tool, the girl cut a chunk out of my foot and was no where near my nail. Blood immediately started coming out of my foot. I looked down as she was putting an unknown green substance on my toe (which I later found out was aloe). I stopped her from going any further as she attempted to continue to other toes (blood still coming out of my toe). It took three requests for a bandaid and two more refusals of more aloe on my toe. I bandaged my toe and immediately left. Never, ever will I go back. I have come home to throughly clean and tend to my toe and hope that I do not end of with an infection. read more

Started off okay...then when it came to doing nailpolish, I chose the very pretty glitter polish and was told she can't do it because it was too much clear nail polish and too much to get the glitter to come out one by one.... she didnt even try to do more layers, told her thats what i wanted and she just shook her head no..so picked a different color, okay. then later on, i realized she charged me for long nails when my nails aren't even long then when i went back to ask her why she charged me for long nails she said short nails are basically a little bit shorter than what i had... before she did anything on my nails she would always tell me if it was extra, and when i said to her ''you didnt even tell me it was extra for long nails'' she shrugged it off and said oh welll.. the store is pretty though......... read more

there prices are severely misleading. the prices on the website are all over $10 less than what they charge you at the salon. misrepresentation is not okay and you don't see the actual prices until you're already sitting down in the chair. they're priced higher than other places in the area for the same quality. would not go back nor would i recommend. read more
