I came in for an 11am appointment for a polish color change on my toes and originally planned to get a full set too. I'm honestly glad I didn't. I walked in right on time and still had to wait around 10-15 minutes to be taken, which already started things off on the wrong foot. During the polish change on my toes, the technician cut my skin way too deep trying to clean up excess polish (I got gel). My toe was stinging immediately and I'm genuinely worried it might get infected. I left with a lot of excess polish around my toes. Despite everything, I still tipped because I understand everyone has off days, but I definitely won't be returning. Not worth the risk. read more

I have been here three times. The third time, ended with me walking out before she could touch my hands with the dremel. The first time was nice, had a decent experience with a male tech who did a fantastic job with my nails and was accommodating to what I was looking to get done. Not crazy about him being on his phone a lot in between steps but it is what it is. Second time should have been my last. Jenny, the nail tech, was incredibly rude and inappropriate with her judgmental comments about my feet. With the manicure, she kept on yelling at me about how I was positioning my arms (even though she literally had them placed on two little square things). I'm not exactly sure what she had an issue with, but it sounded like she was struggling for sure. In fact, before she did my hands, she took out all of her dirty dremel buffers and sanitized them with alcohol spray. Keep in mind my appointment was her first of the day, so it's disgusting that she didn't even clean her tools first thing let alone the day before. This explains why 2 of my nails had "greenies" on them She also told me on several occasions to tip her Venmo account which was tacky and inappropriate. The third time I chose a new tech and Jenny (from the appointment before), inappropriately hovered over the new tech and started gossiping about me in front of me! Not just once, but she came back to gossip more. In between the yapping, the new tech argued with me about NOT getting acrylics but gel x. Despite me being clear and concise "nah I'll just get acrylics.", she pushed back the whole time until I caved in. It was then I decided to walk out before she could touch my hands. I was always wondering why it was so empty every time I went. Simplicity nails welcomed me with open arms and a fantastic acrylic full set. read more

I went here last month and it was great. Today, however, was awful. The gal who did my nails was in a BAD mood. She jerked my hand around whenever I didn't move it correctly. She scraped my skin with the electric files she argued with me about putting tips on my fingers. Her whole attitude was that I was annoying her! I get home and see polish where it's not supposed to be- on my skin- and globs of glue under my nails. When she did the callous removal on my feet she scraped so far she cut my feet open! I walked into Nail Theory Lounge as a walk-in and was greeted right away. I brought in a few different inspo pictures and wanted to blend them together, and Evelyn absolutely worked her magic. She helped me choose the perfect color, talked through the design with me, and honestly exceeded every expectation I had. I've been to other salons before where I asked for designs and ended up leaving disappointed or even in tears because it wasn't what I wanted. This was the complete opposite experience. Evelyn was so patient and thoughtful--she even tried the original color on one nail, decided it wasn't the right match for my inspiration, took it off, and found something even better. The extra care she took meant so much. My nails came out SO cute and so festive. She never made me feel like I was a bother or an inconvenience. She took her time, paid attention to every detail, and really brought my idea to life. I'm genuinely blown away and so thankful. I have never had a worse experience getting a manicure in my life. Not only was it a horrible manicure, but I got cut over and over again. It isn't supposed to be painful. I expressed my concern to the manager halfway through the process and she told me to let the girl finish. She missed coverage on four of the nails, they are so thick and they're gonna lift off right away. Don't take my word for it see the pictures. When I first moved to town this was my go to spot! The salon is beautiful and clean and the chairs are so comfortable. And, I love that they use fresh citrus for the Pedicures. That being said I feel like quality has gone down every time I've gone in (which is over 6 times now). Over time I just feel like service is being very rushed and quality is being neglected. To be fair I am very anti-confrontational, I find it very hard to advocate for myself multiple times during a single visit so I know I'm partially responsible for the outcome. That being said recently there has been poor shaping or patchy dip jobs with small blank spots. I also tried hard gel and what a disaster not only was one of my nails at a 45 degree angle off but the apex was so far forward my friends joked I had "humpback nails), then was grilled by a tech the next I went in about why I was going back to dip. Also I really disliked that when I would ask for a design my first couple visits I was always pushed towards a sticker which I felt looked tacky. read more

Overpriced, Unprofessional, and Blatantly Discriminatory I am officially "firing" this shop. I've given them two chances, and both times the service was technical failure mixed with blatant disrespect. Visit 1: The $149 Disappointment - My first visit was $149 for a full set and a pedicure. They talked me into Gel X, which started lifting by day 3. I didn't scrutinize the pedicure at the time which I now regret because once I got home, I realized the French tips were terrible; they weren't deep and weren't even symmetrical. I called the day before Valentine's Day for a repair on the lifting nails, but they claimed they were "too busy" and made me come in at 5:30 PM the day after I was treated like a total bother just for wanting them to fix their own mistake. Kim did a decent job, even though she wasn't the tech who initially did my full set but days later I noticed chips in the polish on my toes and as far as the new set the thumb nail completely popped off. Visit 2: The $113 Polish Change & Fill Nightmare - I went back 10 days after the initial "repair" for a fill with the repair and a polish change on my toes because the polish was chipping and changing colors. I prefer a less invasive approach to avoid nicks and cuts, so I just wanted the polish redone. This is where it got nasty. The tech was incredibly rude, repeatedly asking me "what do you want to do?" because she couldn't execute a simple deep French. She then started lying to my face, telling me my "toe is crooked" as an excuse for why she couldn't paint a straight line. I've had deep French on these same toes many times the issue wasn't my toe, it was her lack of skill. The receptionist literally ignored me when I asked a question. It eventually took three different techs just to do a polish change because none of them could do the job correctly. The Profiling & The "Lace" Situation - During this visit, I was wearing a brand new $300 lace frontal wig for the first time. As any "wig girlie" knows, sometimes the lace becomes visible and you aren't aware it's a common hair emergency. Instead of being professional, they used my appearance to pre-judge me. They asked invasive questions about "why I wasn't at work," clearly questioning my ability to pay. When I moved to the fill, the tech didn't even ask what I had on my nails. She was about to put acrylic over my Gel X and use pointy tips on my square shape. She then nicked me with the drill; I yelled out in pain, and she was completely unapologetic. After charging me $113, they called me back for "pictures," but it was clearly evidence gathering because they profiled me as someone who would do a chargeback. The Final Straw I realized I forgot to tip and went back in. The receptionist "disappeared" as soon as I pulled up. I stood there for 4 minutes being ignored while dealing with my hair emergency, until I mentioned I was there to leave a tip. Suddenly, Kim "popped up" immediately. It is disgusting that I was invisible until money was involved. They can't do the styles they post on Instagram, they are nasty to their clients, and they are discriminatory. I'll happily take my $400 monthly nail allowance to a shop that actually values my business. read more

I'm new to Chandler and my first visit to NTL was around March for a gel manicure. I didn't get the Nail tech's name, but he was awesome and the mani turned out great! I just had my second appointment and I will definitely be a returning customer! This time I had Kim as a nail tech and she was fantastic! I originally planned on an acrylic set but Kim was very knowledgeable and she suggested a gel x manicure. She was very attentive and made me feel really comfortable. I always dread the filing portion of manicures, but Kim was so gentle. Truly it was the best manicure experience I've ever had. I'm so obsessed with how this set turned out and cannot wait to go back! The atmosphere of the nail salon is so relaxing, it's pretty, clean, and it smells so good in there! Every single nail tech in that salon including the receptionists are incredibly nice. I realized this visit that they even have complimentary snacks and drinks for their clients. Love this place for a pedicure! If you're going to do it, go all in! Very comfortable chairs, it's a large setting! They do both pedicures and manicures but I always opt in for the Spa pedicure. It's about an hour and includes exfoliation salt scrub, lotion, paraffin wax and hot rocks! Finish off with gel. It's fantastic and it will last you a long time! read more

I'm going to start this review off by saying the number of nail salons I've been to in the valley is inconceivable. A majority of them I would never step foot in again. However, Nail Theory Lounge exceeded my expectations. It was clean, cute, and although a bit pricey- the pedicure service was amazing. The service I selected was 'the royal treatment,' which included a paraffin wax, leg scrub with fresh oranges, callous remover, and the works. I throughly enjoyed my pedicure and was pleased with how my toes turned out. I did opt to pay more for gel because I wear doc martens to work and my toes chip easily without, so my service ended up being $70 ($55 pedi + $15 gel). I did not get my fingers done, but I did notice they offer gel-x as a service which I LOVE. I will for sure be back next time I need my toes done and I recommend others to as well! Update: less than a week late my gel pedi chipped on both my big toes... I've never had that happen before so I'm knocking my review down to 4 stars. For the cost and for my gel pedi chipping which is weird, I don't know if I want to return. read more

Last few times I started experiencing my nails breaking just after a couple days. Today I went in for a fill and can't even begin to explain how bad they are. When I told Tony "they're horrible", I was told to take a deep breath. I wasn't getting loud, I wasn't making a scene, but was basically told to be quiet while explaining what a mess my nails were. Would not come here. I got my toes done 3 days ago with gel and the quality is poor, it looks like she did one quick, sad coat of the color, it's not to the edge of the nails and is already chipping. My mom and daughter went today and the quality was ridiculous, it looked like a 3 year old painted them. I went back to have them fix it, it was so bad. Nail polish all over her skin, 75 percent of the nails didn't have polish to the edges of the nail, looked again like they did one sloppy, uneven coat. Would absolutely not recommend, we basically threw 220 dollars in the trash between the 3 of us. read more
