I have to preface my review by saying that it truly pains me to write such negative reviews, but I really had a hard time finding any redeeming qualities during my experience at Nail Studio Services. I cam here based on the recommendation of the 6 yelpers who had given Nail Studio Services positive reviews. Right from the beginning, I was pretty disappointed. In fact, the only reason this place is getting one star (other than the fact that that you can't rate them lower than 1 star!!), would possibly be b/c they have ample parking and the fact that I didn't have to wait very long. When I walked in, I was directed to pick a polish color, but the nail polish selection was pretty depleted and limited. I have been to my share of nail salons, and this was by far, the poorest as far as polish selection. Next, I was brought to my "spa" chair, which was BROKEN. Sadly, most of the other chairs had other people in them, and the only other available chair looked like it was in worse condition than the one that I was sitting in. Then, I put my feet in the water which was SCALDING HOT. I am usually the girl that is asking the people to warm up the water, so this was quite a shock and caused my feet to be quite tender when it came to the pumis stone portion of the pedicure. But before this, I was appauled to find that the lady working on my pedicure, was removing the old nail polish from my toes with a NAIL FILE!!!! The last straw was when the lady working on my manicure managed to cut my middle finger while trimming my cuticles and keps making it worse and bleed by picking at it more!! I had this experience on a week ago and still have a scar on my finger where the lady cut me. I do not know the names of the ladies that worked on my mani and pedi, and maybe my mistake was that I didn't ask for the girls that were indicated in the other reviews, but based on my experience, I will NOT be going back. It is so unfortunate that upon arriving to the nail salon the owner immediately very aburptly asked what it was I was looking for as I glanced through their nail color collection. Wjile waiting for my nail tech. After explaining I was simply picking my color, she just shrugged me off. When the nail tech informed her that the chair I was sitting in was broken ,she instantly looked me and said you are only having a polish change so you dont get to use an operative chair which has a massage function. This is the WORST nail salon I've ever came to. My husband and I went for pedicures and all she did was cut my nails and paint. I told her 3 times I have an ingrown toenail that hurts and she brushed me off all 3 times after I asked her to remove it. They do put bags in the pedicure spa which I like but this was such a horrible job. I had to go elsewhere to get my ingrown toenail taken care of. I first came to this place over a month ago because I got a certificate as a gift. I went the first time to get my eyebrows waxed, Jessica did a decent job. So I decided to come back for a gel/acrylic mani and a regular pedicure. First off I'm 8 and a half months pregnant. And they had me twisted while doing my toes and hands at the same time when I kept telling them I was on no rush. AND THEY WERE NOT BUSY. Second I told the manicurist I wanted natural oval square nails.... but she ended up making my fingers look like gum drops. I had to have her file 4 nails because they were ridiculously lopsided. THIRD, I told the woman doing my feet I didn't want anything extra and just a simple pedicure. she ended up doing a callus removal. Which all was scrubbing the bottom of my foot and I got charged 7 bucks just for that ? I mean don't they scrub callus at every pedicure ??? I definitely will not be going back. I had been here many times in the past and the last time I came (back in 2019) I got clipped really badly on my finger. No exaggeration, it was bleeding so badly that she couldn't finish that nail and I had to stay longer for her to stop the bleeding and clean it up enough to try to put a color on. Despite that, I decided to give them another try and I brought my 12 year old with me to receive her first Pedi during our Mommy & daughter quality time. We arrived and the lady in front asked what I wanted. I let her know we had an appointment for pedicures. She asked if we wanted anything else, I let her know we did not. We only wanted Pedicures. We begin to pick our colors and they seat us 1 chair apart. I understood since COVID, we have to be distanced so I didn't say anything. During our pedicure a woman walks in to get a pedi, and her husband comes 10 mins later and gets seated in the chair right next to her! What gives? We didn't even get asked if we wanted to sit together. Meanwhile, the lady doing my pedi tells me since she has to open brand new packets of the scrubs to do my pedi, it's all going to be $50! She didn't give an option saying would you like this, she told me because of COVID that they had to open new packets and use them and was that okay? I thought that was pretty high, but since she gave me no other option, I said ok. For my daughter, I told the lady doing hers that she didn't need anything fancy just a regular pedicure. The husband I spoke about earlier was getting his pedicure by a different lady who ASKED him if he wanted those packets or not. He had an option, while I did not. Next, after the scrub and rinse of my feet, the lady asked if I wanted an eyebrow service. I planned on getting one anyway, so I said yes. She took me back in the room and when I came back, the lady that was doing my daughters toes, is now massaging her arms. She says "Your daughter is getting a manicure too. I asked her and she said she wanted one." I'm shocked. When a child is coming with a parent, you DO NOT ask the child what services they want you ask THE PARENT! Especially when they are out of the room! At this point my blood is boiling but I stay polite and nicely tell her not to give her any color. "Oh, just do the cuticle?" She asked. "Yes, thank you" I said. A couple minutes later, she walks by my daughter and points to her toes and says "She got a pretty design too!" I was speechless. At that point, I had enough of them hustling services out of my kid. My child has no clue how much this costs and she is also one of those children who doesn't like to hurt people's feelings by saying no. I'm so ready for all of this to be over. They didn't have the initial color I picked so I had to pick the next color closest to it. as she's doing the paint she says "When you give my tip, please give it in cash." Wow. One of the rudest things I have ever heard. Assuming some one will give you a tip is extremely rude but even if I was going to give one, it basically got taken by all the extra services I didn't consent to. To add insult to injury, there is a bank right in the same shopping mall that I always go to since they usually have a fee for using your card. I let them know I was going to the bank and the lady in the front says, "You don't have card?". I let her know I wanted to pay cash. "Oh. Ok." She says with an attitude. That was the last straw for me. I have never not tipped for services (even when I didn't get the best service) but this was just too much. I ended up paying WAY more than I planned and while my daughters experience was what was important to me, I found this to be the worst and most expensive nail experience I have ever had. I will NOT EVER be coming here again. I only gave 2 stars because our toes do look pretty so I appreciated the work, but not the customer service. read more

Small mom and pop shop- the number one thing I like about the salon is that they wrap plastic bags on the spa tubs. I'm a bit of a germaphobe so I like that I'm putting my feet in a sanitized baggy instead of a tub full of leftover cuticles. Lol. The number two thing I like is my girl Bea. She's sweet and is very thorough. Takes her time even when she's in a rush. I don't do gel but my polish seems to last long when she does it. Con- The selection of polish is vast BUT they need a better organization/sorting. It's a little hard to find the perfect color when you have so many to choose from. read more

Oh boy here we go.... Well, it all started with a frantic call from my aunt who insisted her nails were awful and she had to get a manicure ASAP and asked me where she could go. This would all be fine except it was 4:00PM on a SUNDAY. Now, I don't get my nails done too often on a Sunday, but seeing I'm a female I instinctively know that most nail salons (or salons in general) are either closed or close early on this day. I scavenged my yelp app to find nail salons that were either: a) closed b) 1,2,3 stars (bad news) or c) too busy to take us (yeah, I gave in and decided to treat my sad looking nails along with my aunt). Alas, after a good hour of driving from salon to salon, calling, and yelp - scouring, we arrived at The Nail Salon (not sure about this yelp name?). Mind you I had made no appointment (I know, bad, bad, bad!) but once we walked in we noticed the door said they closed at 7:00PM. My aunt an dI proceeded to walk into the doors and immediately were flocked by the sound of 4 women talking and staring at us. After telling them that we wanted 2 gel manicures and 2 normal pedicures we were told that one of us could start and when there was a free manicurist the other could start. Once I was seated I was appalled at the dirtiness of the salon (GROSS), and whats worse was the dirtiness of the gel manicure heating lamp device thingy (not sure what it's called). At this point I wanted the experience to end but not without little jabs from my manicurist ("why didn't you come earlier" "tisk, tisk, tisk" and the best one "do you want flower, eyebrow wax, glitter for $$$$$ more?"). First it doesn't smell like they painted the walls with acetone which deserves 5 stars in of itself. Second the lady didn't shy away from my calloused, cracked dry feet and did an excellent job. I walked in on a Sunday and was pleased to be taken immediately. I think Julie was my manicurist. She did a spa pedicure and manicure on me and I was VERY happy. I did not feel rushed or that I was putting her out (which I have felt at other walk in nail salons). My mani / pedi is still looking pretty darn good and it will be a week tomorrow. I have come here multiple times and seen a couple of girls for gel manicure. I was happy when I found out Jessica was doing my nails when I walked in the other day. This gel manicure however was one of the worst I have ever received. I usually love coming here, but Jessica seemed distracted, was not really paying attention to doing my nails and made excuses when I pointed out certain things (like still leaving spots my old nail polish on nails while putting the base coat of the gel polish, ugh!) I don't know if I will come back now, I loved it here because it was very close and again I've come before for a great manicure, just not sure if its worth it anymore :( read more

I love this place. Everyone is very friendly and they give great service. I, especially, love Phuong! She does a great job with my nails very time. She is kind, sweet, clean, and always make sure that I am satisfied before I leave. She is very talented. She can draw beautiful pictures on our nails such as Pumpkins, American flags, snowman, anything that goes with the holiday and any day. I bet that if you have something in mind you can give her an idea and she can do it for you. A talented woman, good hearted, great service.. You just can't ask for more. Worth my hard earned money! !!!BEWARE!!! My first and last time I am going to this horrible place! First off it took 10 minutes for the nail tech to set up the spa chair for my pedicure... So I pick out my color for my hands n toes... Finally she starts cleaning my feet n every is ok but she is extremely slow. Until she cuts my cuticle so deep that I began to bleed. I'm staring at her to see if she apologizes but she just continues n puts a paper towel to stop the bleeding. Then her phone rings and she answers n has a full blown conversation well working on my toes... Then another tech comes n gives her $40 bucks. So she is on the phone, with money in her left hand (it's touching my foot) and filing with the right hand. Wtf I COULD NOT TAKE IT ANYMORE!!! Love this place! The ladies here are super nice. I love that they put plastic on the foot spa tub on every use, so u know your feet are sanitary every time u get a pedicure. From all the nail salons in the San Fernando Valley, this is probably one of the worst. I needed my nails done for a special event and was at my parents' house for a visit. I decided to give this salon a try since it's fairly close by. When I first walked in, I was barely greeted by the receptionist. She didn't even dare to look up at me! She just asked me what I needed to be done and points me in the direction of my manicurist. When I sat down, the manicurist was in the middle of eating her snack. As she was doing my nails, she started to give me the weakest massage with oil. No lotion. Just plain cuticle oil. She barely even put her muscles into the massage. So disappointing! My pedicure was just as bad. Pretty much the same process. Sat down. Was asked what I needed done. Weak massage with oil. Done. The quality of the nails were mediocre. I literally could have done my own nails. I definitely will not be returning. read more

I've had a facial at some of the best spa resorts. Amy's facial ranks right up there with the best at about 1/2 to1/3 of the price. Recently, I had an European facial (1 hour) that included the upper 1/2 my body being massaged and pampered. The music that was played was very relaxing as well. The facial is performed in a separate room at Mason Nail Salon. This fact probably accounts for the extremely reasonable price. The day after I had my first facial with Amy several people remarked about how terrific and glowing my skin looked. Amy offers two different prices and facial treatments. The one I had was the European for $50 for the hour. When I am feeling a bit more flush I think I'll pop for the $80 one. If you are into facials, I would definitely try this one. The other day I went here to get my nails done. This is the place that I always go to and I've had lots of good memories from here. But this time was really bad. When I got my nails done, the lady that was doing it for me was very aggressive with my nails. Almost as if she was trying to rush that whole process. NAILS CANNOT BE RUSHED!!!!!! She was buffing my nails very aggressively. It hurt really bad. But then, the rubbing alcohol came. It stung so unbelievably bad. I just thought the whole time that it would be worth it at the end. WRONG!!! I got my nails done at about 10:00, and after about 5 hours of really just sitting on my couch doing nothing, my thumbnail had already chipped!! The chip was really bad. These were gel nails, too. This salon claims that their gel nails will last about two weeks before even beginning to chip! False Advertising. The next day while at school, I noticed that the polish on my right ring finger was totally cracked! Now there is just one long line in the center of my nail. Lots of the sides have been chipping as well. I was not happy this time around at all. I do not recommend this place at all for gel nails at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
