I've been coming here for over a year! I WILL NOT go anywhere else! The staff is so welcoming and sweet! From my nails, toes and eyebrows they never disappoint and always on point! If your looking for an awesome and relaxing nail spa this is the place to go! read more

Came here 2 times and wasn't that impressed. The first time the young lady acted like she was in a rush so the pedicure was a little bit of filing and buffing & that was about it. The 2nd time the lady was better but she didn't seem very friendly. I'm done coming here, will have to find another salon. read more

Not the best place to get your nails done. I went in schedule an appointment, and they weren't welcoming for it being my first time. I asked for a full set with gel but they gave me regular polish instead. Two days later the polish is chipping on my fingers and toes. Not worth spending $70 for something that's not going to last for a little bit longer. read more

I had a good experience the first time, but when I went the second time it was horrible. The woman clipped my cuticles too much on my toes and made them raw. When I mentioned that I had sensitive skin she used an ample amount of oil and said that I would be fine ( turns out I was not find and noticed a rash when I returned home). She then rushed through my manicure messing up my nails (painting my skin and then chipping one of my nails). When I went to ask her to re-do it she was sitting in one of the spa chairs getting her own pedicure. I was very displeased and do not plan on returning. read more

I have been going to Escape Day Spa for several years because it was close to my home. I love the "Pink and White" gel nails. I needed to get my nails done so I called for my usual "girl". She was not available, but the girl said, I can do them for you! I was a little afraid, because I wasn't sure she would do a good job. Wow!!! I was surprised!!! She did a fantastic job. I loved her patience and my nails looked great! Even better they lasted a full month before I needed a "fill"! I found out they were under NEW ownership, and it is evident when you go in. They have real towels to dry your hands. They offer complimentary bottled water and sodas. The manicurist now wear black logo shirts which are more tasteful than some of the other attire previously! The place plays a great mix of music and not the "closed caption TV as before. I am so happy to have this place as MY FAVORITE NAIL SALON!!! read more

Emily is GREAT! My husband and I went in for basic pedicures and i had a shellac manicure. This was a first time visit and i will be back again. The bonus is Starbucks and Panera in the same location. Very pleased. Emily did such a great job and was very thorough. Can't wait to go back! read more

I am new to the area and I have only been to this nail salon 3 times and I'll never go back. The first time was awesome although the gel polish was put on to thick and looked lumpy but she was nice enough to fix it as best she can. Second time she (different girl) cut my one toe with the clippers and it bled. She cleaned it with alcohol and moved on but by that night it was hurting me and throbbing, next morning it was swollen and red so I treated it with peroxide and antibacterial cream and it took a week to heal with me treating it and taking care of it and it was very painful (thank god it healed and I didn't ignore it). Now this past Saturday I decided to try again because I believed it was just an error with the clippers and I was going to be diligent and I told her "no clippers just file and I also told her that my feet are very sensitive so no hard scrubbing". Well, I see her take a stop clock timer and set it and then she gets to work rushing through it because it's timed which I never saw before. She scrubbed my feet to hard that I had to take my foot away from her several times and the polish was sloppy and all over the skin. Then we move on to mani with gel, she took her tools that she used on my feet to the table and I gave her a look as she goes to use the same tool she picked my toes with. I stopped her and told her no mani just paint them. Well it took her over an hour to do a gel and its lumpy and on my skin. I decided at that moment never to go back. Well it's been 4 days since my last visit and yesterday I started to feel pain on the side of my foot (where she scrubbed to hard) but I didn't see anything. This morning I wake up to a pimple with a black head in the area where the pain was (on the side of my foot where she scrubbed to hard) it's red and swollen so now I am off to the Doctor because I am concerned that it's an infection. I will update you if my concerns are warranted. Also, I watched her clean the foot bath after my use (while my feet are in the foot rest) with just a sponge, no soap or spray. I usually see them spray. My gut tells me I made a big mistake trusting them for a third time . Update 9/2/2016 I had my foot checked out by my Dr and there was a scrape/cut that was getting infected. So now On topical prescription antibiotics and just watch it to make sure it doesn't get worse. read more

I've never been this satisfied with my nails as I am now. Diana is really meticulous and makes sure the nails are 100% right, thank you for the artistic work you do, and the beautiful smile on your face!!! read more

I have been to this salon maybe 6-7 times in the last 3 years. It's close to my house so hoping it would work. I've been there a couple times for pedicures, which are overpriced and seem to chip very quickly...which is odd for a pedicure. I have found another place for my nails at a fraction of the cost and the pedi lasts. I've been in there twice for a cut and color but the color is always too dark and when I asked the second time to adjust it she says she can't and that it will fade within 3-4 washes. So I continue to drive to my salon in Lorton for a cut and color and my hair is amazing when I walk out the door. Plus...it's a little bit less costly. My biggest concern is the gentleman who sits behind the counter. Not sure if he is the owner or the manager but he's rude. Today was the first time I've had an encounter with him. I did not ever plan on returning to this salon but had a gift cert for a massage. My gift was for an $80 massage but I opted to add on the cost for the aromatherapy massage another $10. The therapist was lovely and did a fine job. Very sweet and pleasant. However; there was NO aromatherapy during the massage. I've had aromatherapy massages before and normally the entire room smells with the oils they are using. This time...the room had no order; just a regular stale smelling room. Either she did not use massage oils with essential oils or they use such a low grade oil it could not even be detected. The point of an aromatherapy massage is that you can smell the oils hence the name - "aroma"therapy. Again. the massage was fine, but when I tried to ask they man at the counter he became rude and short. One of the other times I've been in there I have seen him treat another customer the same way when I was paying my bill. She was trying to kindly dispute a service and he wanted nothing to do with it. He only cares about making money. I am a small business owner myself, but I still believe in customer service and not nickel and diming people. I paid the $10 because it's not worth arguing with him. Plus, he won't even carry on a gentlemanly, courteous conversation - he just cuts you short. I wish this salon were better as I do believe I would frequent it. I like the ambiance, the staff seems pleasant, but their service, kindness and quality of what you receive does not match the price point. Very disappointed...I do hope the man behind the counter truly changes to genuinely care about his customers and not just how much he is putting in his pocket. It was very disappointing and as much as I would like to blame it on him having a bad day...I can't, as I have seen him treat other customers this way too. Very sad! read more

I got a manicure and pedicure for $40. The price wasn't bad and the atmosphere was OK. But holy hell, the technique and attention to detail was lacking. They used a cheese grater on my feet. A CHEESE GRATER! My pigs ended up looking OK, but I'm 5-feet, 9-inches tall, so I'm probably too far away from them to notice if they look bad. My manicure was the worst I've ever had. The woman (with tattooed eyebrows) filed my nails extremely unevenly with the rough side of a nail file and never smoothed out the edges. She did one swipe across each nail with the cuticle-pusher tool before cutting the dry skin off, so my finished manicure featured leftover cuticle underneath the polish and hangnails that weren't there when I walked into the "spa," if you can even call it that. When she was massaging my hands with lotion, she got lotion all up in my engagement and wedding rings; she never even tried to avoid them. Never again will I got to this place. read more

I appreciate the managers comment to my review, in response, my card was charged without my knowledge, that's the biggest issue I had, along with his lack of customer service skills. The incident he is speaking of was an accident, I did not break the bottle. If that was his suspicion, a conversation regarding the matter should have been had. It is irresponsible, not to mention illegal to charge a credit card without the customers knowledge. Zero resolution was attempted to mitigate the situation. A lot of accusations and my credit card was charged. I stand by rating. read more

I wen't in this past weekend for a prenatal massage and was dissapointed! She walked me to a back room, told me to undress, without providing me with a robe or towel. She placed a round large pillow on the table, which I guess is used for prenatal massages, so I asked her where I should place it and she said where ever I see fit. HMMM well that did not help me very much, so since I'm only 14 weeks and not very big, I decided to lay on my stomach without the pillow. As she started to massage me, her cell rang and she said she needed to answer it because it was a client. HMM well arent I a client as well? The room was right off of the common area where nails and pedicures are given, therefore I heard everything - people laughing and talking, the staff speaking Asian very loudly! While massaging me, she was having a full conversation with me. I don't know how everyone else likes their massages, but I like it peaceful and relaxing. She then asked me if I want my nails and eyebrows done. Excuse me lady but I'm here for a damn massage...if I wan't any other service I will let you know AFTER the massage! The padded area where you place your face was borken on the left side, therefore metal was digging into my face everytime she massaged my neck. It was not a comfortable experience! Today I'm sitting here at my desk with a tense neck so the kinks were not removed! I am used to spas where you're given robes, slippers, complementary bottled water and fruit, brought into a quiet area to receive your massage with serene music playing very low and aroma therapy in the air. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR THAT!! read more

Tried this place once and was very disappointed. Figured I would try again a year later, and even more disappointed!!! Had a manicure and my fingers actually peeled. My Dr, said I had contact dermatitis, i.e., UNCLEAN TOOLS. Now that I think of it, not once did I see her pull out a utensil newly out of the blue antiseptic solution. They spoke a foreign language the whole time. When I would not opt for the deluxe options, the manicurist actually got mad at me. I have never, ever written a review on yelp before, but cannot let an innocent victim go here for a mani pedi only to have very visible peeling the next day. read more

Terrible job with French pedi and gel mani. Very unimpressed for the price paid.

We have been here several times. Today was exceptionally busy. The manager put us in the back room and forgot to tell anyone we were there. An assistant prepped the water for us, but by the time I was tended to, the water was already cold. I had the spa pedicure my daughter's pedicure had not even started by the time I was finished. The pedicurist apologized and explained that the manager did not tell anyone we were there. The pedicures themselves were excellent but my daughter's pedicure was very rushed and we would've expected some sort of compensation or discount and the manager would not give it to us. read more

This place is great! The service and the staff are very friendly and know what they are doing. This has been the best place that I have found for pedicure, manicure, and facial.. Facials are so good! If you have acne problems, well let me tell you this is the place to get a really good deep cleaning facial. In addition, their prices are not bad at all so go and try them. read more

Always drove by this place and decided to give it a try. I walk in at 3:45 and ask for a mani/pedi. I have a massage at 5:15 in the same shopping area, so this leaves plenty of time...or so I thought. There isn't a wait so I go straight into a pedi chair. I wasn't done with my pedicure until 4:40!! This girl rubbed my legs for at least 10 mins each, to the point I felt they were getting raw. I even tried to put my foot back in the tub to give her the hint that I was okay with it. So after she is FINALLY done, she asked me if I wanted a manicure too. I said if you can get it done in 20 mins then okay. I was done in 20 mins...although she made 3 cuticles bleed and the nail job was very poor. The fact that I paid $50 for the service is a total ripoff. I will not be going back there again. I should have realized this place was bad when I walked in and it was empty. read more

Stopped in Saturday for a manicure. Didn't want any color, just clear polish. Tech was not pleased with that, in addition asked if I wanted a wax also, what does that have to do with a manicure? Since I was getting just a basic manicure she rushed through it (less than 10 minutes) and pinched a few cuticles and made my thumb bleed. All I got was a 'sorry lady'. Now I remember why I stopped going there. Unless you buy into what they are trying to sell you, they rush and are rude. Will not go back. read more

I agree with Gretchen J. I actually had a wonderful experience at the Escape Spa Fortuna and was confused by all the bad reviews. The staff was very friendly. The deluxe pedicure I received was fantastic with a massage that lasted about 10 minutes. The place was clean and the massage chairs were new and had great features. I don't get it with the negative "campaign." It's possible after reading the bad reviews of 2012 that this location may have since improve their work practices as a fresh beginning in 2013, but, I doubt that's the case. It was clear from my visit that this was a professionally run place that offers a very relaxing experience, period. Keep up the good work! read more

I've been going to Escape for the past few years. The nail technicians weren't always the friendliest and seemed to often make my toes bleed while digging for ingrowns, but it was one of the better salons in the area. I did meet a tech who was my favorite until this last appointment. I went there recently for my usual eye brow wax and pedicure. The Tech did my eyebrows first. After she finished there was such a burning feeling on my face. I even told the Tech that they were burning and she ignored my concern. She did my pedicure. Whie waiting for my friend's polish to dry, I checked my eyebrows because they were still burning almost an hour later. By now it was much more noticable that I had suffered quite a few burns from the wax to the point that I had open skin. This will be the last time that I go there to get my eyebrows done! Even though I had devleoped a bond with the Nail Technician, these scars on my face are a painful reminder! read more

I use to like this salon until tonight. Let me say the lady Doing my nails did a great job and was apologetic for her coworkers. I walked in and was taken back with only a 2 minute wait. I like to know how long the wait is because if it is 30mins or longer I will go somewhere else or come back. So she sat me down started everything, picked my color, wrapped my nails. And another girl comes to Tell me that some appointments came in (they were late) and that she would have to stop doing my nails. Okay so how long am I looking at then? Quite a while. She tried to tell me they make you sit anyway with foils, which I know. She said she would be with me after her pedicure and gave me major attitude that made my stomach turn, I don't like being treated that way when I'm away from my baby for 1 hour for something relaxing!! Long story short the original lady kept doing my nails and was all done before the other rude technician was even done with her last customer!! So I would have still been sitting there uncomfortable with foils!? Yeah, no thanks. Guess I will go to a new salon now, super disappointed in the way I was treated, looked at, and talked about. The whole situation could have went well if they were nice and gave me good customer service in the situation! read more

The service is great. I have been coming here for about a year and have had a few techs but one tech Anna does a really good job and gets you in and out quickly. BUT her customer service sucks. She is constantly on her phone, looking around at others or talking to employees. She has never once had anything nice to say to me and I am beginning to take it personal. I have never had someone leave the scene as quickly as she does. She just finished my nails and no thank you, come back soon, nothing. She is now laughing with other customers, I make appointments, am on time and tip. Is the amount not enough, I don't know but I tried talking to her and she shakes her head. Normally when you get a pedicure after a manicure the tech gets your purse so you don't mess up your nails not Anna, she grabbed my color and started running the water. I think I am done with Escape Nails & Day Salon. She may go a nice mani/pedi but there is no reason for rudeness especially with 10+ other places around. read more
