Owner was clearly condescending, while his wife was lovely and working hard doing her best; he was attending to his kids, pets running throughout space and spending time on his cell phone. Quality of nail experience was very bad, spent well over regular prices for a very poor incomplete manicure and pedicure. He increased price seeing that I was clearly vulnerable with an elder. Literally, worst I've experienced in our area around Lake County. We spent almost 170$ here last night and we go here all the time , for the first time I felt like I was treated very differently even though I am extremely courteous and I tip them very well each time . I tip Almost more than 20% each time I visit .They was giving out Christmas presents ti everyone who used their services and even though we tipped well we weren't given the same gifts . I had gone to Nail Pro in the past with good results. Even left them a decent review via Google {which I will be amending} Today was extremely unpleasant and I will not be returning. Tom normally does my nails but due to my profile on Google, he had developed a negative attitude towards servicing me. I thought it was just my imagination however today proved I was right. I had a nail that was lifting which was painful. I informed him of it then in few moments later asked if we were going to take it off. He flipped out on me, informing me that he had done my nails before and knew what he was doing, if I didn't like it Kim could do my nails. I was taken aback by his rudeness, especially as there were other customers in the shop. I said that was fine, but he continued for 3 more minutes to berate me to which I repeated that was fine, I was just asking as it was painful. Finally I shut up so he would stop. Mid way through the fill, he asked if I wanted them cut down - I said yes- needless to say they did not get cut down and I wasn't going to remind him. I was never shown colors , when asked what color I said dark red, Kim picked some color and handed it to him. I had scheduled a pedicure as well but that was obviously not going to happen. He completed my manicure and I left, never to return. I understand a business's right to refuse service or if one person is uncomfortable doing my nails, he can say so and send me to another tech. But as a paying customer, rudeness from staff especially the owner is not something I am paying for. Apparently my money isn't good enough. So I will find another shop that isn't so small minded where the owner doesn't have issues with people who are different. I guess the other reviewers who noted this issue were right. I have never in my life experiences such racism. People of color stay away! She made us wait and wait for no reason. Other clients came in and she treated them like royalty. Molly has a bad attitude comes up with reasons to charge you extra (I.e I had to use the grater more so $5 extra). She didn't want to give me a pedicure after I requested for her. She had one of the other girls to give me one. She had no appointments, she was just sitting around on her phone. The last time I went, she had a younger girl work on my feet. I have tried this place several times due to so many people referring them each time I have been disappointed. Had nails taken off which they literally just ripped off which extremely hurt,had white tips with gel put on two of the nails are not put on right which when I said some thing was told it was my fingers. I just moved here and wanted to try a new nail salon. I was first greeted and happy with the fact they could get me in, but disappointed quickly as my nail tech kept telling me how short my nails were. I get my nails done every three weeks and have always had short nails. The person I've gone to for the last two years (in a different city) has never once said anything to me about my nails being short. I've never had someone say so many times how short they were that by the end all I could say was, I'm sorry. My nails don't look good at all. I have paint on the skin and they just look messy. Went here for the first time due to the reviews. There was no one in the shop when I arrived and they continued to make me wait for 20 minutes because the man that was doing my nails was at lunch. So, not understanding why no one else could assist me, I still kindly sat there with a smile and waited. I was about to leave after 20 mins, then he finally greeted me. No eye contact and only provided conversation in response to my questions. Really impersonal. I never felt welcome from the moment I walked in. As soon as regulars came through the door they greeted them loudly and asked them how their day was- never asked me or provided any interest of my presence. The man doing my nails began to get flustered when more people came in and he rushed my nails. He refused to cut my nails to the short length I requested, as he stated it looked better long...even after me requesting several times. He skipped steps in the process and it is obvious by the bubbles and thick gel on my nails. My "shaped nails" were crooked. He said "its fine." Then when he finished with the UV light, he sent me to pay asking me how much I want to tip- uh, guess you are assuming I want to tip you? Hated that I had to tell him the amount instead of signing it myself. He never said "thank you" or "have a nice day" he just gave me my receipt and called the next person up. I will never go back to that place. I paid $51 for a full set of gel and it looks like crap. I had to shape my nails to make them straight and shorter when I arrived home. I was angry that I spent so much money to take care of my nails myself. DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE!!! After having been to another Nail Pro we were not overly excited about the customer service we would receive from this location solely based on a bad experience at a previous Nail Pro location. However, we could not be happier. The level of customer service goes well over and beyond what you would expect from a nail salon. The owner and the family members that work at that nail salon are really friendly and inviting and don't just do the nails. They actually talk to you like they've known you forever. I would definitely recommend this location to family and friends over any other nail salon in the vicinity of where I live. I love that they would allow you to bring your dog in if you wanted and actually bring their own dog there which is comforting because it allows to just be happy for a little while. I've been going to this salon for approximately 5 years. I'll never forget when I was serviced by Molly (one of the owners). She actually spoke to me, and was interested in getting to know who I was. The ultimate test, however, was the French Pedi/French no chip. I can't tell you how many ppl had let me down with a crappy French...Needless to say she was PERFECT. My toes and hands had the perfect French pedicure. I had my daughter with me who was looking at magazine and they where telling her to put the magazines back but she was bring me the magazines to look at. They staff was telling her what to do. My experience was not as great as the reviews. Had to wait forever, seemed like they were catering more to their regulars. I had a pedicure, overall pretty good, nothing spectacular. My biggest complaints were the strange smell, the long wait time, and I didn't understand that she had wanted to wrap my feet in plastic (nice, but I have had 100 pedicures and never had this done) to avoid ruining my nails since I was wearing boots (so I said no thanks because I didn't understand her) However, when my nails were dry and I was ready to leave she made me wait another 10 mins and get the nails wrapped and said this is why I wanted to wrap your nails..I honestly didn't know what she was talking about the first time around. My issue is that she started to talk to her other customer about how I didn't do it and that she had to do it later so I didn't mess up my nails, I just felt that was unprofessional. read more
