Sam who did my nails cut me and I tried to stop him many times and asked him to wash my hands he said wait till he finishes shaping. I said ok. Once I washed my hands I asked for alcohol. Sam gave me some alcohol. I'm trying to not get an infection because the cut is deep. Then I go to pay. My total was $55 and when I was about to make the payment I see that the machine says $56.10. I asked the guy behind the desk why is it $56.10 and he said there is a 2% card fee. I told him you can't surcharge debit card transactions because it is illegal and to take off the fee. He refused. He said there is no way for him to do it. I said you can adjust the $55 to make it $55 with the fee. He said no. I tried to explain to him again that they can be fined for this and that I can file a complaint with visa for refusing to take off the fee and for charging debit card fees. He said to me do you want me to call the cops so you can file a complaint and took the phone pretending to dial 911. I told him you don't file a complaint with the police but visa and Mastercard. I asked for the owners phone number and name and he refused to provide it to me. So he wanted me to call the police to report this. I am in disbelief. I will file a complaint with visa. It may be that the swipe companies are not setting up businesses up correctly but they should know better. Image below from visa clearly stating that you can't surcharge debit cards.

It's no surprise the place is always busy, they've built caring relationships with their customers and it shows. I think they make your feet look super cute, and it's not something every salon does well--or even offers. That's how I ended up finding Party Nails and Spa. I came in less than an hour before closing after a really rough week at work. I just needed a minute to breathe and do something for myself. Not only did they take me in with zero hesitation, but they kept working on me past closing time. That alone says so much about their customer service. The pedicure came out so good--super clean work, I did only put acrylic on my big toes, and just an overall pampered finish. The vibe was relaxed, never rushed, and honestly, it helped turn my whole day around. Sharing some pics so you can see the quality for yourself! If you're thinking about trying acrylic toes, or just need a place that treats you like more than just another appointment.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Party Nails in Waukegan. This was my fifth visit,…read moreand I had always gone there for a simple pedicure. During my most recent visit, the manager talked me into getting a manicure as well. I believed I was receiving a basic manicure and pedicure, so I was shocked when my bill came to $105 before tip. My previous visits had been around $65. I later realized that gel polish had been applied. I never specifically requested gel polish and generally avoid it because it has damaged my nails in the past. About three weeks later, I returned to have the gel removed and get a pedicure with regular polish. At that point, the owner told me they "never use regular nail polish." I found that very difficult to believe, especially since I had never requested gel polish and was never clearly informed that it was being used. As a disabled customer living on a fixed income, I need to know exactly what services I am receiving and what they will cost. Instead, I felt like services were added without being properly explained, resulting in a much higher bill than expected. When I tried to address my concerns, I felt dismissed rather than helped. What upset me most was the lack of transparency and communication. Customers should be clearly told when they are receiving upgraded services that cost significantly more. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will be taking my business elsewhere and cannot recommend Party Nails to others.

I had make an appointment for two pedicures and one gel manicure for my friend. I was told that the appointment would be at 1030. When the day came, my friend and I were running five minutes late so we called to let them know out of respect and if they couldn't take us, understand as well. Well when I called, I spoke to someone who said that our appointment was at 10 and not 1030. They also said they were with their 1030 appt now. I was shocked, I said that that was not my understanding and if we were already 30 mins late to an appointment which should have started at 10, a call would have been nice too. The lady on the other said nothing: no sorry, no "there must have a miscommunication"....nothing. The only thing she did suggest is that I can find another salon. So, with that being said, I told her to cancel the appointment, informed her that my friend and I would not come back to their establishment and rebooked with another nail salon in the area who took us in promptly, did a phenomenal job on our pedicures and my friends manicure and lastly, communicated efficiently and effectively. And while I get it, services like this have their bad days but it doesn't mean that their customer service should lack in the essence of treating their customer like decent human beings. I would say that maybe I could try this place again but nah, I don't think so. Next please.

I was greeted with a hello and asked what my name was. After that the lady doing someone else's nail told me to sit in the second pedicure chair and that someone would be with me. I sat on it and put the arm rest down and turned on the massager, I waited 10 minutes, then Adriana came to do my pedicure. I personally did feel like she was a bit harsh on my feet and as you can see she cut me with the file while she was filling my nail, I just wish that she would have been a bit more careful. Anyways I wanted to mention that when she came out to do my pedicure she did not say hello or good morning, she just looked at me without a smile. I would think that good customer service is saying hello welcome to my nail shop etc or even a good morning. When she was done she told me to sit in another chair so I could get my finger nails done. The lady that took care of that was Rocio and she was nice and even told me to tell her if she was a bit rough or I hurt. I did tell her once since the file was rubbing on the side of my finger and did cut me a bit. Overall I think this place needs a lil more customer service because I noticed that between them there's some kind of difference. I would give them a 5 out of ten, I did love my finger nails and the work that Rocio did, but my nail polish on my feet didn't look too good and my feet look dryer than when I went in. I think this place has potential but customer service needs to be worked on. Greeting the customers as they come in and meeting them as you do the service etc. I have a few autoimmune diseases and I am also disabled so I'm really used to being treated with helping me in the pedicure chair and pulling down the arm rests and asking what massager do I want. Helping me put my shoes back on or at least offer it. Will I come back? I might give them a mother try. This shop is Latina owned from what I was told and I as a Latina want to support my community. Yet I definitely hope they step up their game.

I went in just for an acrylic removal and asked for a nail trim/manicure. I assumed that meant my nails would be cut, buffed, shaped, and that my cuticles would be taken care of. I wasn't looking to get polish since I had a broken nail and just wanted my natural nails cleaned up. The person who worked on my nails had great customer service, which I really appreciated. However, I was disappointed with the actual service. Not all of my nails were clipped, they weren't shaped, and my cuticles weren't done. I did ask for my nails to be cut all the way down, and while I understand limitations with my broken nail, the rest didn't turn out how I expected. I didn't say anything at the moment because I wanted to give it a chance, but I ended up leaving unhappy. I've heard a lot of good things about this place, which is why this experience was surprising. I even had to go to another salon right after to get my nails fixed. I would like to give this place another chance in the future, but as of right now, I don't think I will.
