We had great, light conversation as she gave me a gel manicure. The manicure itself took about 45 minutes. My nails were trimmed, buffed, and filed before being painted. She was extremely gentle which I greatly appreciated; some nail techs can be so rough so this was a wonderful change of pace. My only comments are on the size of the salon itself and the prices. When I first walked in I was thrown off. Upon entering there's immediately a couple stairs down. There's a small "waiting area", I guess would be the best name for it, on the right that consisted of a love seat and that's all. There's no main desk and it took a minute of awkwardly standing there, clearly confused, before someone said something to me. As for the pricing, I think they are slightly high. A gel manicure is $36. I've never been somewhere with pricing that high before. I came in during the afternoon and was greeted with "What do you want?" After reading previous reviews I expected this and told them I made an appointment; she again asked me what did I want so I simply said "dip". There was a slight aroma of hot pockets wafting in from the staff room but I didn't mind. There weren't a lot of dip options but beggars can't be choosers. I sat down and the man who did my nails was lovely. I could overhear two woman saying they had to come back here which was a great sign! As he drilled off my previous gel he cut my skin to which I yelped but proceeded to laugh it off. It burned for a while but I said nothing as, once again, beggars can't be choosers. He proceeded to do my nails one hand at a time while texting on his phone. Multitasking skills were quite impressive here. While I felt it was a little unprofessional, my nails were looking fine so I brushed it off. The woman next to me, however, asked to leave mid-appointment. She stated it felt like her cuticles were being ripped off. As I looked down at the cut on my finger (which was now filled with nail polish and glue) I couldn't help but understand her need to leave. As the appointment was nearing an end the nail tech came up behind me to give me a massage. I noticed that a massage came with the pedicures but I kind of thought they asked consent before touching you. I quickly said no thank you as I do not like being touched. I also asked for a receipt when I was checking out which was followed by panic as no one seemed to know how to give me a receipt. Thankfully, someone from the back came and printed one for me. The experience started badly when I was shown to a foot spa that was still full of dirt and nail clippings from the previous customer. I had to wait while it was cleaned before my appointment could even begin. The salon itself appeared unclean. There were cotton buds, cotton wool, and other debris visible on the floor and in the corners. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, and throughout our visit none of the staff were welcoming or friendly. We were barely spoken to, and unlike many salons, there wasn't even a simple offer of a bottle of water. Another thing that stood out was the lack of proper equipment. Instead of using standard foam toe separators before applying the nail polish, the staff simply stuffed pieces of tissue paper between our toes. I've had many pedicures over the years and have never seen a salon do this. My granddaughter's pedicure was also smudged and had to be redone on one of her toes. The most upsetting part happened after we paid. The total came to $125 for two adult pedicures and one child's pedicure. As we were leaving, an older staff member came running outside shouting, "No tips? No tips?" in front of everyone in the salon. My daughter politely explained that we were unhappy with the service. Instead of listening, he became angry, shouted at us, and even used the F-word in front of our 9-year-old granddaughter. No customer should ever be treated that way. One more thing we noticed was a sign in the salon offering customers a $10 voucher in exchange for leaving a five-star Google review. That made us question how many of the glowing reviews genuinely reflect customers' experiences. We cannot recommend this salon. Between the lack of cleanliness, poor customer service, unprofessional practices, rude treatment, and the aggressive confrontation over tipping, this was one of the worst salon experiences we've ever had.
