Rose has been doing my hair since I was just a little girl and I love that she is at MG Salon now. The salon is clean and sophisticated and all the staff are very friendly! I cannot recommend Rose enough, she knows what she's doing! She is a well trained color specialist and knows what will work and what will not when it comes to both color and styling. She is not afraid to give you her educated opinion and enjoys being creative with anything from updo's and color to just a simple cut. I just moved to the area and have been searching for a new stylist. I called MG Salon & spa and was surprised to get an appointment that day with Charl. After bouncing around stylists and salons for the past few years, I think I finally found my "place." The wash, cut and blow dry was exceptional and I ended up with a really great cut and lots of ideas of how to style it in the future. The whole process took a little more than a half hour (only 5 minutes was spent waiting). A blissful, relaxing hour. How much does this wonderful, upscale, spa-service haircut cost? $35 plus tip (maybe depending on the stylist?) about 20 dollars less than I was previously paying.. I'm never getting my hair cut by anyone else again, if I can help it. I will be back to see Charl in a few days and cannot wait to see how my hair looks again. read more

I'm pretty low maintenance when it comes to hair cuts. I just go in for a cut with layers. I really enjoy getting my hair washed with fancy salon products and the blow dry after the hair cut is always a treat because I can't blow dry my hair the way they can! I wanted to give a shout out to Heather. I only get my hair cut once every 9 months or so, but she remembers me and I appreciate that. She always does a great job and I feel like she gives every strand of hair attention. She's very friendly and asks about my family. She also gives me tips about taking care of my hair. I have been going to MG salon in spa for about 6 years, and have since only gotten my hair done by Sarah, seriously, I don't trust anyone else for a haircut. Sarah is awesome at what she does and knew exactly what to do when I messed up and decided to dye my own hair at home (big mistake..it ended up being tangerine) and her fix came out amazing! This is the second time she's had to fix my mistake (the first time was when I was a high school freshman) and I couldn't be happier with the way it came out. I have also gotten prom hair and dance recital hair done by her, and she always knows what to do, no matter how vague my description of what I am looking for is! Sarah is extremely friendly, as is the rest of the staff. Besides Sarah, I have heard that every hairdresser does an amazing job there! I also get my eyebrows waxed by kelly and she does a phenomenal job, nobody does eyebrows like she does! Sarah has been doing my hair for 5 years now. In fact, I followed her to MG Salon- she is that great! She is always so friendly and professional. She is brilliant when it comes to hair. Even with a vague description, my hair always comes out exactly how I envision it to be. I have never met a hairdresser more deserving of my business. I have also hired Sarah to do the hair for my wedding next month. Her personality, which is cool and collected, is going to be perfect for my big day. Knowing that she is in control of my appearance as I walk down the aisle gives me peace of mind. I can't rave enough about Sarah! The Salon in general is very comfortable. I've been in salon's before where people are pretentious and judge me for wearing yoga pants on a Saturday morning (as if every woman in America doesn't do this). Needless to say I always felt way out of my comfort zone at other businesses. At MG Salon, I am greeted with smiles and free coffee from a Keurig! The shop is clean, modern, and business always moves quickly (I have never waited for my appointment). MG Salon and Sarah are so great that I currently drive 30 minutes to get there. I have toyed with the idea of moving 2 hours away and, if that happens, I will STILL make my hair appointments through MG Salon and Sarah. I hope that speaks volumes. What kind of a business is this? First, I called at 3 PM on a Wednesday and no one picked up. They directed me to leave a message and they would call me back. Um. no. I have too much in my life to be waiting around for a return call. Then... I put something in via yelp for an appointment, no response. Fine. So I called early. This is their response, everyone maintains their own "books" and I would need to call back later because they weren't in. I am in at my workplace? I believe your hours state that you are open? All I want to do is make an appointment. It shouldn't be this hard. The receptionist wanted me to leave my name and number and someone would call me back. Nope. I went to MG salon and spa yesterday to get my hair fixed from my horrible home hair dye job. Cherie did an amazing job! she gave me a ton of suggestions and spent 2 and a half hours of her time on me. i could not be happier with the outcome. I went there a few times and while I was initially happy with the place, I became less satisfied with each cut. You get what you pay for. My haircut usually took about 20 minutes and cost $40. Mediocre cut - though I did have one real butcher job. I now pay $60 for a cut by a great stylist (Marisa) at Fulham Salon in Newton which usually takes an hour. Much more precise and professional looking cut. Worth the time and extra money. read more

This is a beautiful salon and I had a really great experience with Charl. When I tell you I never liked to do the whole salon thing I mean it had been a long long long time. Recently, however, I decided to go all out and cut about 12 inches off and figured I needed a real professional to make sure it was done right. Charl made me feel super comfortable and did an awesome low maintenance cut that is exactly what I wanted. I've since returned with my mom who, even though she has moved to Savannah, GA., will only go to him here in Massachusetts when she comes to visit me. She is super picky and couldn't have been happier with her cut and color. Thanks to Charl and MG Salon & Spa! We'll definitely be back. read more

MG Salon & Spa is wonderful! The location is super convenient since I live in town. The space itself is great--always clean, very updated and serene. The services they offer are wonderful as well (nails, waxing and there's a massage person!). Sarah does my hair and is so great! She is always so nice, chatty, personable. She does a great job with my hair as well--the color she does matches my natural color perfectly, and I never have left there unhappy. I always get great compliments on the great job Sarah does.
