I will never go anywhere else! I have had about 15 massages here, usually an hour long, and every one of them has been excellent. I feel relaxed from the moment that I open their door, and I leave feeling as if I were melting into a happy puddle. I have had a few different therapists, but my absolute favorite is Binnie. She's outstanding at finding and smoothing out my knots, spasms, and "crunchy" places, always using the most therapeutic pressure that I can tolerate. She uses her hands, elbows, and body weight to get into every tight place, and with joint issues, arthritis, and sciatica, I have a LOT of tight, painful places. Understand, however, that Tough Love is not for "just a relaxing massage"...they mean business. Sometimes it hurts (a good pain), but they constantly check in with you about the level of pressure, and are immediately responsive to your needs in a completely non-judgmental way. When I called she was going to be closing up shop for the weekend but took my request for an hour-long deep tissue massage. In fact, she said that a 90 minute massage would be a better option for someone who had never had a treatment before. I later found out that she had lots to do so the sacrifice to fit me in was appreciated. The storefront business is neat, clean, not fancy but nice and modern. The treatment was painful but she explained what she was doing along the way and let me know how many strokes were left so gritting through was easier. If you are looking to get relief from injury, stress or any other ailment that has kept you from being able to move freely, Hahn is the one for you. I have been seeing Hahn for several months and the improvement in my ability to move has increased dramatically. I suffered a back injury thirty years ago and I have had two back surgeries for herniated discs to try to "fix" me, but to no avail. I have seen my mobility decrease drastically over the years, while my pain increased. I had tried everything that I could think of over the years to help maintain my mobility and flexibility, but nothing has helped as well as getting the knots out of my muscles. Hahn has worked diligently and patiently with me to get me over the initial "pain" of the deep tissue work and now I look forward to my 90 minute sessions. She has worked out the knots (big, nasty, painful knots) and for the first time in a long time, I can move with reduced pain and even greater mobility. Continuing to work with Hahn has allowed me a new sense of hope of being able to continue to get better and to be able to continue getting out of bed in the morning without being bent over in pain for the first 5 minutes of my day. She was very good and also a very nice person. I've had several massages in the past but not one like this before. It did hurt and wasn't as relaxing as my other massages. There are a few things that were a distraction. She talked the entire time during the one and a half hour massage. I just wanted to relax and listen to the music. And she left the room at one point right in the middle of the massage to talk to another customer. Normally, there should be a sign on the door saying she is with a client. She charges quite a bit and her practice may be geared more for athletes. I most likely will not return to this place as it wasn't a right fit for me. read more

I've had muscle and nerve pain in my neck and back since I was a teenager from sports and years of ICU nursing. PT and chiropractics never provided much relief for me. I was going to Hanh 1-2 times a week for about 7 months and the pain was SO much better after just a few sessions! She's very knowledgable about massage techniques and anatomy. Her deep tissue massages are DEEP! She kills me while working out the knots (in the way that those who like very firm pressure love!) but afterwards the pain is so much better. My stiff and sore neck was feeling the best it ever had. I'm currently pregnant so I haven't seen her in a few months because she doesn't do prenatal massages. Therapeutic massage that really works. I went to Hahn with a pain like a knife between my shoulders that had persisted for more than 6 months. And if I'm honest with myself, has been a recurring problem for years as stress, computers, and sports always seems to show up in my neck and shoulders. I probably would have gone on suffering except that tennis elbow was now in the picture, too. Hahn explained how I've been compensating for years and that reversing the impact would require full body treatment. She was so right. I love deep massage but have found it more and more difficult to get a therapist that can really deliver the pressure that works for me.
