As a side note, I had gone to another salon who will remain nameless only a week earlier for the initial full set of extensions. I had a Groupon - and I regretted that. The lashes were put on with too much adhesive and were sticking together in clumps. Jackie had to pull them apart and even remove & replace some. While I was fortunate not to completely loose my hair, it has thinned considerably in comparison to the thick head of hair that I was born with. It is a devastating experience and I spend so much time trying to cover up the thinning spots where my scalp shows through with teary eyes every morning. I recently purchased a "wig topper". Not a full wig, but it skims the top of my head (covering up the scalp areas) and blends in with my own hair. However, I wasn't wearing it because the bangs made it look too wig like, and needed them cut...professionally. Since my hairstylist is in Providence, I did some research and decided that this was the best salon in Franklin. The receptionist or manager was INCREDIBLY gracious and sensitive to my needs and set me up with the owner, Stephen! What a guy!!! Not only did he give me EXACTLY what I wanted, but he made me good about myself. He caught on that I wasn't feeling too good about myself... Truth be told, when I first walked into the salon, I had tears in my eyes because of my appearance. After leaving Stephen's chair, I had a big smile on my face and still do! Shimmer is ALWAYS clean and ready to accommodate all of the clients that are in the salon. Second, the ambiance in the business - I have to say, I love the comfortable yet stylish decor in Shimmer. Brand new chairs (super comfortable for the longer appointments) - and new chairs at the washing and dryer stations. I love to see places that maintain their furniture and decor; no one wasn't to sit in old and dirty salons. I have to say, the best part about the place is Nichole! She has always made sure that I was in the best hands! I began having her do my hair from when she worked at another salon. I had to follow her to her own salon!
