I really let my hair go, seeing that the last time I did anything for my for my 'do was back in August when I needed a cut/color for Mom's funeral services... I of course went back to Dawna who squeezed me in on a Saturday afternoon as her last client... I point this out, as the salon closes at 4:00, and she was still taking care of me after the doors were locked. Besides 'squeezing me in' on a busy Saturday, I think she actually added me after her last client was already booked. Props for the amazing customer service! Being in the hospitality biz, I tend to notice these things... I went for an overall color (no highlights) of Jet Black. She did an awesome job. The color was perfect, warm, shiny... and I've seen so many attempts on jet Black and it ends up looking grey and ashy, or even purple-ish... Yeah, no thanks! She also gave me some kick-ass swoopy bangs *that's what I call 'em* and hooked me up with a much needed product to control my frizzie pieces. Like my day couldn't get any better, leaving the ATM after my appointment a very cute boi took the time to stop and tell me how he loved the *color* of my hair, he thought it was gorgeous... Thanks, Dawna!! read more

I've been having my hair styled by Rachel for years. She's awesome. I've got kinky corkscrew curls and a lot of it. Somehow she manages to get it to look tame and great each time I get my cut. She's also a whiz with the color. I sometimes go for the full foil highlight and she puts in two tones which makes my hair look fantastic. Rachel is ridiculously talented and a doll to talk with. She can make you smile AND give you a great cut at the same time. Multi talented that girl. read more

I absolutely love, love, love my hairdresser Brenda. After getting the most awful haircut at the Mall, I went to yelp, searched for places near my job and found Studio 109 (all w/5star reviews). After three visits to Brenda, my hair is beautiful. She took a mess of layers and made me look oh so beautiful. Last visit I received a highlight from her which I totally love. She takes the time to make sure the cut is perfect and that you are completely happy when you leave. (PS...my profile picture is from PRE-Brenda days!!!) read more

One of the most disappointing things about moving out of the city is that in a small town they they just don't know how bad it is. I heard nothing but rave reviews about this place. So I went. It wasn't horrible, but, it wasn't great. I had a cut and color. The color was only "ok", kind of a shade darker than I wanted, and the cut was just basically following what the last stylist had done but an inch shorter. I thought it would be cheaper but it was only about $20 dollars cheaper than my former big city expensive stylist. Such a shame because of the good location. read more

I had planned to go to Studio 109 for my wedding hair and makeup. I had a trial done which was pretty pricey. $50 for each hair and makeup. My hair came out nice, however it fell out later in the day which concerned me. My makeup was TERRIBLE! I showed her several photos of what I wanted and I left looking like a 40 year old drag queen. The makeup literally took her less than 10 minutes. She did no base...just swept some Bare Minerals on my face. When I asked her to cover certain things up, or to lighten my eyeshadow she didn't really seem to know what she was doing. I was expecting someone who knew more about makeup than I did. I was thankful in the end that I paid $50 so that I didn't have to deal with that terrible makeup on my wedding day. I ended up doing my own makeup on the day of. I also had an issue because I made an appointment for me and all of my bridesmaids for hair. I did not require them to do it and it was not in my budget to pay for all their hair. Two weeks before my wedding I got a call from Brenda that I would need to give a deposit for the three girls who were with her. I don't know why some hair dressers required deposits and others didn't. I have bridesmaids that were traveling all the way from across the country and I didn't feel great having to ask them to call the salon to figure out a deposit when they were already doing so much. I wasn't in a position where I could pay for it myself. It just made things more complicated for me when I was already so busy. I told her that there were a couple girls who might not be getting their hair done, but I would get back to her about it. I had to wait for some of my girls to try doing their own hair before they decided. I got a message from Brenda two days later saying she cancelled the appointments for any girls that were with her since she didn't get a deposit. I was really surprised. It was very poor customer service. At that point I tried looking around for somewhere else to go...but everywhere was booked since it was so late in the game. I ended up going there just for hair. My hair did not turn out great. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't my favorite. It took the girl 3 hours instead of 1.5 and it did not look like the photo I showed her. It was also falling out before I even got to the ceremony because she used super wide bobby pins and I have really thin hair. Thank god I had a veil to cover it up. After my veil came off for the reception my sister tried to pin what she could. I'm still not happy with how my hair looked, but I was surrounded by everyone I love and had the best day ever so I'm letting it go. My experience here was not a good one at all. I came because they have great reviews, but I should have realized that was for hair cuts not wedding styling. Oh well! At least my makeup looked good since I did it myself! Worst customer service I have ever seen! You could not pay me to return to Studio 109, even the best hairdressers shouldn't be allowed to treat the customer poorly. read more

I went to Studio 109 for the first time just this past Tuesday morning. My hair was long and I just wanted it to be more managable. My appointment was with Tay, who is sweet and easy to talk to. She gave me a wonderful cut and she is the first stylist I EVER had who knew how to cut bangs correctly! I was very happy with the results and will return. read more

Studio 109 in Millis, MA is a secret gem! The salon is inviting, relaxing and neat as a pin. The whole staff seems to really care about their clients, treating them more like family and friends. I switched over to Studio 109 about 2 years ago now after reading a review on Yelp about Rachel and her coloring skills. Let me tell you that while the review was great it didn't do her justice. Miss Rachel ROCKS!!!! Best hair cut I have EVER had hands down and it holds its shape for 7 weeks. Plus this woman knows how to color hair; yet, she is very reasonable in her pricing! So fellow yelp users I wanted to pay it forward and tell you all about her (even tho I would love to keep this gem all to myself!) read more
