Absolutely worst experience ever... Today is my daughter's senior prom and she went to get her hair done and when she got home the look on her face said it all... And photos are worth 1000 words. Her hair was frizzy and it looks like a rats nest. I feel like my daughter was taking advantage of. We left a Google review and instead of the owner apologizing after looking at the photos, she instead shamed my 17-year-old daughter for leaving. She was embarrassed and upset. Her hair was trusted with master stylist Stacy ... what Master stylist looks at this finished product and considers this a job well done and then takes a 17-year-old girls money!!? When my daughter asked for a refund, she got no response and was ignored. I will be pursuing her refund. I do NOT recommend this salon or Master stylist Stacy based on this experience. read more

I went for simple brow wax and somehow lured into getting the lamination and tint. I can't believe I spent +$70 to have the eyebrows looking like angry birds. The "esthetician" had more of the marketer vibes then of someone who knows what she is doing. When I came out of the room there was a client who couldn't stop her giggles looking at my face. Absolutely the worst cut I've ever had. I had to wait 4 months for it to grow out before I could go to another salon to have it fixed. I wore a hat the entire time. And the color! I'm already strawberry blonde. I just wanted a little more red and some platinum blonde lowlights. I came out with Carrot Top's color (and frizz too). But the worst part was the manager. I've never seen such apathy and laziness and utter neglect. And she is just so impressed with herself! She has nothing to be impressed with. She's lazy and stupid and rude and barks orders at the stylists like they're sled dogs rather than professionals. Also, she's continually putting videos on Facebook when her own hair is just plain god awful. How about wearing something that didn't come from Frugal Fannies if you're planning to be on camera! read more

SAGE SALON - Franklin, MA Service: Hairstyling UPDATE: A couple of days after posting this review, I received a phone call from a police officer, advising me that I was no longer welcome at Sage (after 6+ years as a loyal customer), and that if I went there I would be arrested for trespassing. I spoke to my attorney, who assured me that their trespass notice is unlawful and completely unenforceable. You cannot be trespassed from a public accommodation for leaving a negative online review. But, the fact that the owner/manager, Jill Godfrey, would go so far as to actually file a fraudulent police report over a negative internet review just made me more certain that we never wish to go there again. So, I sent a formal "Cease and Desist" letter, warning them not to contact either of us ever again, in any manner, and to immediately and permanently delete any records they may have of our credit/debit card numbers, etc. Jill Godfrey signed for that letter, which I sent via certified mail, on July 18th. Since then, I received a lazy, remedial, super-sweaty form letter saying "Trespass Notice" from Sage, dated the same date! That means she received the cease and desist order and then violated it the very same day!! She expects me to respect her wish for me not to come back there, but then immediately violates a lawful cease and desist letter, the same day, in a juvenile effort to get the "last word"? Ladies and gentlemen, THAT is an unhinged nutjob that you do NOT want to have to deal with! This place is a sinking ship going down for the 3rd time. If you want to get a blowout on the Titanic, be my guest, but I wouldn't advise it!! .......... Despite 6 years of rave reviews for my stylist, Stacy, all of which i fully stand behind, I can no longer in good conscience recommend Sage Salon. Not after the way my wife was just treated. She and I have both been getting our hair done here for several years. My wife went to Taylor D, and I went to Stacy. Both stylists are phenomenal! We have nothing but glowing things to say about both of them. However, we refuse to give any of our hard-earned money to a place where the receptionists and managers are rude to customers, nor a place that is so grotesquely mismanaged! My wife had an appointment tomorrow, at 6:15pm. An appointment that has been on the books for some time. Someone named Melissa called a few hours ago, said that Taylor D. was reorganizing her schedule due to a personal commitment. Melissa asked my wife if she could come in at 5pm instead of 6:15. My wife said that she doesn't get off of work until 5, but that we only live about 5-10 minutes away, depending on traffic. She said that she could leave right at 5, and would try to leave a few minutes early, but that she might not be there until just after 5. Melissa indicated that this would be fine. She would just mark her down as coming in at 5, but could be a few minutes late, due to work. An hour or more later, some other girl called. She didn't give her name, even when asked, but she was extremely rude. I mean, even by 2022 standards, the rudeness was WAY over the top. My wife advised this little girl that such rudeness was not necessary or appreciated, at which point the little dipshit actually laughed at my wife out loud. My wife asked to speak to a manager, and the little snowflake literally told her "No" and hung up on her. I guess she didn't get a participation trophy for eating her Wheaties that morning and lashed out at any available target since that's what her ridiculous generation does. So my wife waited 10 or 15 minutes, called back and asked to speak to the manager. The manager was actually even more rude! It's hard to even comprehend how she could have actually been even more rude, but that is exactly what happened. In fact, after suggesting that my wife see a different stylist, she recommended that she go to a different salon - which is PRECISELY what we're both going to do from now on!! read more

Agree with another reviewer that the place has a bit of a snobby vibe where the other employees gossip to each other in front of customers. I asked specifically before my first session if they have PPD-free dye and was told yes. They did a patch test on me and I seemed ok so I went 2 times but got mild reactions. My stylist did the best job she could and was nice. When I reached out to the dye manufacturer they told me that it DOES have PPD. Consider yourself warned. If it didn't have PPD I probably would've continued to go there. 2 stars only for the good work my stylist did. 3 off for the catty vibe and the important misinformation. (Side note I don't think I was intentionally misinformed but that was so uncool) read more

Stacy and Vicki were both so awesome and gave me amazingly pleasant service. I booked a really last minute haircut and color and I have EXTREMELY stubborn Asian hair, but I walked out feeling like a new person. Everything from the initial consultation, to the shampoo/massage and cut and color and blowdry was absolutely fantastic. I got a tea tree hair mask while shampooing that felt super great, and although they didn't have the exact shade of red I had wanted to dye my hair, Stacy (the hairstylist) combined some colors to give me just what I wanted. Stacy makes sure that you walk out feeling happy and good about yourself and took the time to ask and make sure my hair ended up the exact way I wanted it to be. I was worried because not a lot of hairstylists have experience with ethnic hair, but she did perfect! When I walked in, I had a terrible discolored mop of a mess of hair on my head, but I walked out with shiny, beautifully deep auburn red hair and I couldn't be happier. The price is much more reasonable than other by-appointment salons as well, and I was really happy about that too. Definitely would come back! read more

the place was nice enough, and natalie did a good job on my hair, so i didn't leave unhappy because of that. i actually loved my hair, but the whole vibe of the place really threw me off. the girls there all just seemed very snobby, and not very welcoming, especially the front desk woman, who definitely turned her nose up at me and implied that the products i was buying after my services were too expensive for me and so i should use it extra sparingly. i literally was just going to buy the shampoo but after that i ended up buying everything just to spite her. the girls were talking poorly about what i assume is their coworker. saying how she's mentally ill and sick and the head, just all this really mean stuff that you don't want to hear, especially when you're on medication for anxiety yourself. it's really too bad because my hair turned out beautiful, i desperately want to come back to natalie but beautiful hair is not worth being made to feel inadequate. also, just a personal thing that really isn't much of a reflection of the place at all, but the girls were all squealing about "chickie nuggies" which made me want to scratch my eyeballs out lol. read more

This is my new salon! I've gone to different hair stylists every time for the last year or so before finding Sage from my neighbor's recommendation. I've seen Steph twice and she has done my hair exactly how I would want it to come out. Steph is funny, easy to talk to and even when the salon was busy I was seen right on time. The salon itself is beautiful inside and everyone is friendly. Would definitely recommend Sage and Steph! read more

Pretty disappointed in not only the actual haircut I received (the stylist seemed fairly new, cut off at least 5-6 inches when I asked for just a trim, maybe 2-3inches tops, also didnt seem like she was comfortable doing her job) but more importantly their lack of consideration about the pandemic. Given the small size of the salon, one would think they'd have their patrons wait outside until the stylist was ready, which was not the case. There also didn't seem to be any extra precautions for social distancing other than a quick temp check at the beginning (stylists and manicurist sitting face to face loudly chatting) and I didn't see a single person wiping down or sanitizing anything after use. When I was brought over to the hair washing station, some of the staff was sitting in the chairs gossiping and when they slowly got up so I could have a chair, noone wiped any of the seats down. This review is not based on Sage Salon itself but written for a employee. I feel as a customer employees are a big part of why someone would choose to try a business. This morning while waiting to get into the Starbucks drive thru line which was long as it was 830am, a much older women driving a blue Jeep with dark hair wearing cheetah pants was behind me yelling and waving her hands. She continued to talk aloud and make gestures as she got out of her car and walked towards the building while looking at me threw my window and being unnecessarily confrontational. As this area gets quite congested this time of the day I'd imagine as an employee in this plaza she would know it may take a minute to park. As I was patiently waiting my turn to get into line like other people while having my small children in the car and just trying to get my morning coffee as a mid week treat to myself this woman's behavior was ridiculous and rude. I felt it was even worse when I realized after she parked and walked into the plaza that she was on her way to work. Based off of this women's complete ignorance and aggression towards someone who was obeying any traffic laws and had children in the car I would not go into this salon at all considering she is an employee here. I have never written a negative review in my life and I felt compelled to because of this women. I am glad my children were in the car today because things may have gone differently this morning if they were not. Hopefully this employee is spoken to about her disgraceful behavior. read more
