It was pretty warm outside today - about 80 degrees and the AC was clearly turned off which made it rather uncomfortable. I also walked in and asked if there was time to do a shellac polish change and the receptionist said yes have a seat. 10 minutes went by and I made myself more noticeable and saw the receptionist finally ask someone if they could take me. Other than these few cons I had a hilarious girl named Dawn paint my nails. They look great considering how short my nails were! I will definitely call ahead and schedule with dawn. My shellac was more expensive than other salons I've been to -- $35 for French shellac. read more

California Nails & Spa - Nail Salons Near Me - Medway, Massachusetts

hit or miss. employees are very nice and helpful. and salon is very clean. but I find at least with the guy I always seem to get he rushes and I can't ask for a design or even french tips they always are very thick and messy and the nail shape tends to be uneven.Even if you say something he tends to give a little attitude doesn't matter how polite you are. awhile ago the one time I didn't get the guy they looked great and she was not rushing but they were just plain color and I did like them but not even TWO days later on cracked in half. I went back in and explained what happened and the lady ( pretty sure the owner this time) was very apologetic and extremely helpful she spent the time with me to make sure we had the right color and redid that nail and insisted I didn't have to pay! overall like I said hit or miss depends on the technician. read more

Great bunch of hard working girls, Teresa is the best, always does her best taking great meticulous care of my nails.

Not the friendliest service. Nail tech was impatient and bossy, especially when I couldn't understand her. My nails came out good, though.

Absolutely come here! I have been coming here since I was in middle school and I can't express enough how amazing the people there are! Tran is magical and I always am so in love with how my nails look!! Very clean, fair prices and so many options available. read more

Stopped in for a quick gel manicure before I grab my kids at school and it was a great first visit. Lisa was my nail tech and she was amazing. We had a ton in common with little kids and she did a great job. I'm super happy and will be back! read more

Tran and her team do an excellent job. Very affordable compared to the competition. The quality is great. I get dip nails and had them done in a few other places that ended up being thick and unnatural. Here, my nails look natural and classically beautiful. read more

I don't even know where to begin. I thought I'd give this place a try as I had heard about it in passing one day. Upon arrival I thought that everything was ok until the manicurist started to try to Put on my tips. I have gotten tips hundreds of times. Yes it may take time but I have never seen somebody struggle so much. Multiple times DURING the remaining of my manicure the nails were falling off due to how poorly they were put on. After having corrected her numerous more times to make my nails a certain shape. I ended up with uneven oddly shaped thick oval nails. Just look at my middle finger! My finger isn't even that fat. I cannot believe I paid for this. PLEASE explain yourselves! read more

best nails ever!! ask for Kieu, I've been a client since 2019 and it's always been a good experience every time.

I love this nail place! My mom has been taking me here for years (like actually since I was 7) and I have never been disappointed. The staff is super friendly and helpful, there is also always candy on the counter. This salon is heads and shoulders above any others I've been to. :) read more

California Nails & Spa - Acrylic Nail Set - Nail Salons Near Me - Medway, Massachusetts

Ugh, I was really hoping to have a good experience this time but I didn't. I've gotten a regular manicure and gel manicure here before and they were pretty good, the gel lasted ages. I wanted to get acrylics this time so I called ahead for pricing so I would have enough money on me for tip and everything. The girl on the phone said $25 for a full set with regular polish... I didn't believe that because at minimum they're usually $40... so I asked again to double check and the girl said $25... okay so I went to the bank to get some cash so I would have enough. I even asked AGAIN when I walked in and the girl at the desk said a full set was $25... When the second nail lady asked me to pay I said "how much?" They said 40...... I said the girl on the phone and front desk said 25 dollars MULTIPLE TIMES (I was very polite about it, because I hate causing problems and didn't mind paying 40, I just wish the girl at the front desk was in the loop) Rather than the girl at the front desk getting scolded by the older women who did my nails I got ALL THE ATTITUDE and dirty looks from the ladies.... (On a side note the lady who did my manicure barely spoke a word to me and passed me off to another person randomly without saying a word...) I'll get my fill or new set to replace this mediocre one somewhere else....... read more

ummmmm let's see the service was pretty good but quality is awful i noticed cracks on day two after getting dip with tips. They are crooked and GLOW IN THE DARK don't totally hate the glow in the dark part but would've been nice to mention that a white with some sparkles turns into neon blue at night read more

I am VERY torn about writing this review!! A solid 3.5. I've been going to C.N. for the past 4 years (after finally ditching my gel tips, and after a few "forever french" manicures that just got too expensive to keep up...) and have been lucky in the sense that my nail tech has been with me the entire time. It's awesome to call the day of -or HOUR of- wanting an appointment and she's always ready to take me. She does an amazing job with my mani/pedi's that I've never gone to anyone else in the shop, although I see a LOT of the same clients time after time, so the clientle seems to be loyal with the rest of the techs... Prices are reasonable, Mani/Pedi will run you $45.00 ($30/$15) and my girl (gonna keep her name to myself!) introduced me to OPI's "axxium" manicure which is a longer-lasting gel laquer that is set under a UV light, and literally keeps looking new for 3+ weeks. The longest I've gone with them was 22 days, and the only reason why I went back was because I wanted my nails shorter, and wanted to try a new color. (The axxium colors are limited right now). This manicure was $25 at first, but on my last visit she told me it went up to $30, annoying, but still a good deal since it lasts soooo long. Her pedi's are thorough yet relaxing, no less that 45 minutes, and if I'm "not in a rush" she'll give me an extended foot and calf massage. Pedis ususally last me 8-10 weeks, at week 7 or so I throw a fresh layer of top coat on to get me thru to my next appointment. I do wish more attention was paid to the foot spas. I definitely make sure I do not shave my legs for a few days before I go in for a pedi, and honestly feel uncomfortable (at times) when I see the tubs not getting the proper scrub-down and sanitizing that is necessary. (I'm a restaurant manager, I am a stickler for sanitation...) The massage chairs are pretty awesome, though, lots of tabloids to read, and a large plasma TV that is usually showing a movie that is just out in theaters. Not sure how that works...? Skip the tanning. Wicked Tans is literally next door, and CN has one stand-up that's in the middle of the floor, ZERO privacy. Waxing services available, although I've never had anything done. No checks, tip in cash only. read more

I have gone to this place quite a few times and overall experience has been good. I went to get a pedicure a little over a month ago and ended up with an infected hangnail / toe due to the pedicure I gotten. The infection began a couple days after my pedicure and still to this day has not been cleared up with cleaning and disinfecting. I now need to have my toenail surgically removed. Not sure if this was due to my nail being pushed too hard into my skin during the pedicure or if the tools weren't cleaned properly. I haven't had this before but now will be extra careful when getting future pedicures- unfortunately it won't be from here. read more

The absolute worst manicure I have ever received. The first technician did not put nail polish on the ends of my nails. I was ok with that until I overheard the manager tell the person next to me "I always apply polish to the ends or else they'll chip." When I asked the manager to please re-do them for me, he simply buffed down the top coat and added a new one. He didn't take into account the oil from the lotion that was applied, and they ended up being gloopy and horrible. He then admitted they were bad and applied more layers of color, and was ready to send me home without a top coat. Having to advocate to please have a top coat, I then was sent home with 7 layers of polish. So gloopy and the top coat wasn't even dry when I left. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

This was my first time here and I was not impressed. I normally pay $33 for a manicure and here I paid $40. My gel nail manicure is already chipping within a week. I felt like she didn't understand how to properly shape my nails and did not spend enough time grooming my cuticles and clipping skin. I'm not sure if it was the inexperience of the person as it seemed some of the other nail technicians were doing a better job but my experience was not positive. read more

I stopped here on a Saturday afternoon in hopes of getting a pedicure. After the standard 'pick your color' I was told it would be a few minutes. I waited about ten minutes for the chair to be ready. I began reading the book I had brought with me. I began to find myself getting anxious and my feet getting pruny. I checked the clock only to find another twenty minutes had gone by!!!!! Two other women who came after (perhaps with appointments) had been seated and were being worked on by a nail technician. I ask the technician closest to me if they had forgotten me and if so I was was ready to leave as I had already been there for thiry minutes. A woman came over to work on me within a few moments of my inquiry. The pedicure was fine, nothing remarkable (I did love the color choice I picked out). When the woman was finished she began to put on my white flip flops and I noticed they were covered in PINK nail polish!!!! When I mentioned how upset I was when I went to pay at the register all I got for my trouble and patience was a mumbled 'sorry' and a bill for thirty-five dollars. Needless to say I will never be returning to this location. read more

Terrible. People were packed in like sardines on a Saturday afternoon. They told me it would be a 5 minute wait for a manicure/pedicure. They put me in a pedicure chair with my feet in water. I waited 30 minutes before finally leaving - they didn't even apologize for wasting my time. The service was awful, the manager was nasty and ineffective and the place was dirty. There are several better alternatives along the same road. read more

The nails may have been on point but I won't be returning. Despite great workmanship and timely work, the customer service lacked so much it is a breaker for me. Talking to my technician was like pulling teeth, and when a regular client arrived after me it was obvious I was being treated as a second class client. There was no effort to earn my business what so ever, however all around the salon regular clients were being treated like gold. I left feeling judged and like my me time was less then relaxing. One thing I won't miss? This is the most expensive nail salon I've ever been to in my life! $45 for a basic (no white tips) acrylic set with regular polish!!! read more

Where do I start... me and 2 of my girlfriends came to get pedicures. They had the water already running for us, took us back to where the pedicure chairs were, but the smell of feet was so strong that it almost knocked me out cold. I dipped my feet in, and instantly I felt the luscious skin on my feet scalding off. They turned down the temperature and it was like I was transported to the arctic circle. After they sandpapered off the souls of my feet with a scrubber filled with the dead skin cells and bacteria of other people, while not wearing gloves. They did a good job painting my toes, but before they started painting, they folded a piece of paper and weaved it in between my soggy tootsies. The feeling of wet paper made me want to chop my feet off whole. Like you really can't afford to put regular foam toe dividers like every other nail salon?? She then began to massage my calfs and feet for a minute then vigorously dried the excess lotion with the rough paper towel! And lastly let me tell you.... she says "50 for each". 50 DOLLARS???!!!!! I have NEVER paid that much for a pedicure!!!! At my regular nail salon, I could get a full set of acrylics WITH gel and it would be 42 dollars. I will never be back. I pray that nobody wastes their money on that place like I did read more

California Nails & Spa - Q at California Nails & Spa is hands DOWN the best manicurist I've ever found. EVER. My last gel lasted 3 weeks! - Nail Salons Near Me - Medway, Massachusetts

I don't even know where to start. I would give this "salon" a 0 if I could. The person doing my nails was completely RUDE. Insulting me and my future profession(a teacher). She Swore every time she talked and kept getting up, walking away and complaining to me the whole time. She told me she had to do it quick because she had an appointment at 5pm when I called a week ahead for 4pm. Her rushing left my new (acrylic) nails uneven and ugly. Even the paint job was sloppy. She put the liquid you use for acrylics up my finger making my fingers look crusty... I had to peel it off. Worst experience I've ever had. The aesthetics of the place weren't comforting either. (I think my persons name was Dawn for future reference for anyone). read more

Decided to get a mani pedi before my trip. My mother in law recommended this place. Am very disappointed with the results. I had the gel nail polish put on. It hasn't even been 3 days and it's already coming up at the nail bed. Some of the gel was put on too thick, and looks unnatural. As for my pedi- from far it looks great. But upon close inspection I see that I have some polish on my skin, and some patchiness on the nails. Will never come here again. What a waste of $65!!!! read more

I have been going to California Nails for just about 4 years now and always enjoyed my experience there! But what makes this nail salon stand out to me is Kieu she has been doing my nails every 3 weeks for the past couple of years and does an amazing job!! I get compliments everywhere I go about how good my nails look people are constantly asking me where I get them done. I had gone to a different nail salons before and my nails never lasted 3 weeks! Kieu is really easy to chat with and the second time I went to her she remembered me and exactly how I liked my nails done right down to thicker white at the top of my french fills!! I strongly suggest checking calirfornia nails in medway out and most importantly checking Kieu's wrk out!!! read more

I find the techs at CN to always be rushed. I stopped in for a mani/pedi, sat at the pedi chair for 10 minutes with my feet in COLD water. In the meantime watched another tech clean out a foot tub with only a sponge that is left on the side. NO sanitizer or cleaner was used. The tech buffed the skin off the top of my toe.............Its sore and red still. And the mani (gel) she didnt do a full manicure like at other places. But she did however manage to cut my skin on my finger too (by my cuticle) ! I have dead skin all around my nails. Only went because I had a gc (had been a client in the past) Definately wont go back...........sorry read more

I have been going for several years and am very happy with the service I do make appointments with my girl. However the place just needs to be cleaned and kept up. AWFUL! I received a gift certificate to California Nails so I tried them out for the first time. NEVER AGAIN. The girl who did my mani/pedi was terrible. First, she was annoying. She wouldn't stop talking doing my pedicure. I wanted to sit in the chair and relax, but she wouldn't stop talking...She didn't use the cuticle nippers on my nails, and barely scrubbed my feet. Not what I expect for a $35 pedicure... During my pedicure I witnessed the girl next to me finish her pedicure, and fill up the foot bath for next customer without even cleaning anything!!! I was so disgusted. After my pedicure she did my manicure which was an absolute nightmare. Again, she wouldn't shut up about her 1 year-old son and wonderful husband. She was talking and not paying attention when she tore off a part of my cuticle. Blood went everywhere....and she put a little piece of paper towel over my nail bed and kept saying "I'm so sorry" She didn't even get gloves on when my blood was all over her finger. The manicure came out terrible. I paid and left so aggrivated that I forgot to get her name. She has dark hair with red highlights. I would not recommend this place to anyone. All the nail stations looked filthy...I'm staying with my favorite place, Crystal Nails in Milford. read more
