I made an appointment for a pedicure and arrived right on time. I was directed to an area with rows and rows of polishes. Some were for sale only and I picked out my color. It was very busy but quiet, clean with soft music playing. A young woman named Helen was my nail artist and was excellent. I have a very bad back and can't sit for very long. She did a great job taking my concerns into consideration. When I was done, she brought me over to a separate seating area to finish drying. I have given this place multiple chances since we moved here in 2019 because its close to my house and clean (the only positive). The owner is rude, and everytime my nails chip with in days. I got a gel manicure on friday and by Saturday one was chipping and by the following week multiple nails had chipped the way they would normally after 2-3 weeks. I went here with my mom today and we are use to the women being rude, sort of barking at you and asking for cash before they paint your nails. They don't want you to have to go into your wallet, so paying before the paint sort of makes sense. Our manicures were so fast and there was no massage or moisturizer what so ever. It's about 12 hours after my manicure and my hands feel raw from sitting in soapy water before being painted for too long. I kept taking my fingers out of the water because they were wrinkling and puckering up because of sitting in cool, gross, somewhat soapy water. Ever time I lifted them out, the girl shoved them back in without being curious why I was taking them out. They were in the water for at least ten minutes. I'm thinking I will have to take the polish off myself in the morning as something about the ten minute soak plus polish has led to a strange, uncomfortable sensation on my raw finger tips and finger nails. Also, I really wish there was an email on the website- so that I could email them directly and give them this feedback instead of writing a review. I was told this place gave you a "spa-like" pedicure so I decided to give it a try. They were overbooked and Still taking walk-ins. The pedicure tub was filled up with only about 3" of water, which I thought that was odd but didn't say anything. The tub never got filled any higher. They used rolled up paper towels between my toes instead of the normal sponge separators. The girl rushed through my pedicure at record speed, barely did any type of trimming or cleaning around my toes or heels, about a minute of rubbing my shins, slapped on two quick layers of polish, and then rushed me out to the drying table. The whole pedicure was roughly 20 minutes. Because they used paper towels instead of separators, my second toe rubbed against the big toe nail and took off part of the polish. I didn't realize this until I'd been sitting at the dryer for five or so minutes. Went to find the polish to fix it but couldn't find it. The girl was already with another customer so she begrudgingly found the polish and applied a quick dab of polish to the toe that had been smudged. They weren't even slightly friendly. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning to Peony. I'll stick with my normal place that isn't spa-like, but at least they do a great job. read more

It was a good pedicure, and I liked the fact that the foot tub was lined in a plastic liner so that the jets (which supposedly don't ever get cleaned, if you read/watch all those scary things about nail salons) were covered. Kudos for the cleanliness!! However, I am knocking it down to 3 stars for these two reasons: first, it's a cash only place. Wish I knew that beforehand, as I am usually carrying about $5. I literally had just charged my $7 purchase at Roche-Brothers before going in there, so there I was, waiting for my nails to dry, while wondering how much $$ was tucked away in my wallet, car and where was the closest Bank of America? Also knocking off a star because I just wanted and needed to relax for a half hour, and said I just wanted the basic pedicure. The guy who did my pedicure kept talking up the "spa pedicure" or whatever it is, and I tried to just say I didn't want it, and that the regular one was fine. What I also really wanted was to just read my magazine and zone out for a while. I understand upselling, but if I say once that I don't want it this time, thank you, that really means no. read more

I love this salon! It is extremely clean and relaxing. I'm very indecisive when it comes to picking a polish and they are always helpful and never impatient. I've met all of the manicurists at this point and they are all wonderful. They keep the music and atmosphere low key calming and my nails always come out great. I got a refill on my nails today. This was the the first time I tried this salon, because my other normal nail salon was booked today. I will not be coming back here. My nails do not look as good as I'd like for $35. They are lumpy, and some of the polish is on the skin surrounding my nails. Also my nails are exceptionally thick towards the end and are very messy. I was not asked what shape nails I would like. The technician didn't even do the same shape that I had on when they took them off. One of my nails is longer than all the others. The technician was nice, but I'm going to have to get my nails redone at my normal place in a few days, because the tips are so messy and thick. read more

I live locally and have now given this place a handful of tries over the last 4 years; mostly due to convenience to my house. Today will be the LAST time. They squeezed me in which I appreciated but I was greeted by the rudest woman barking at me which continued the entire time. I was repeatedly hit on the leg when it was time for my feet to go in the water, move up, turn etc. There was no exfoliating scrub, stones or lengthy lotion massage. However my gel manicure started chipping after 5 days, on more than one finger so i know it wasn't just a fluke. I don't work with my hands and am not particularly rough, my manicures usually last at least 2 weeks. I have been going here on and off for a few years and have always been pleased with the service. It's a clean, pleasant space and staff is usually courteous. My main issue is with the expectation that customers pay cash. I used to make the effort to have cash on hand but it's not always convenient. By all appearances this is a thriving salon in a good location yet they have signs everywhere asking for cash because of the credit card fees they incur. And then you are point blank asked for cash if you should offer a credit card. We are practically a cashless society. It is the reality of doing business to accept cards. Other salons I've been to offer a discount for cash. That seems like a good incentive. The pricing here isn't especially competitive. Nail salon services are a rare luxury for me and it's not my responsibility to help you watch your bottom line. read more

I've given Peony a try now three times. I had dip twice which was ok. Today, I got a gel manicure. I understand it's right before the holidays so they were very busy. However the complete lack of care when doing nails is terrible. They had to have 4 noon appointments walk in while I was getting my nails done and not a single girl available. By 12:15 they did get to three of those women but the fourth was still waiting. All while this is happening, she was still booking people for "in 15 minutes" when they needed pedicures and eyebrow waxing, etc. I was in and out in 20 minutes and felt like a rush job. In fact, she did a terrible job filing my nails so now I need to go home and file them myself since they're rough. I wanted some sparkly gold nails for the holiday (figured two coats of gold and one coat of sparkle). My nail polish is completely see through and not anything like I wanted. I didn't even realize it wasn't as she was doing it because the painting part took no more than 5-7 minutes total. Absolutely terrible experience and not going back. Was hoping third time would be the charm but it was by far the worst. And now I have a single sparkle that looks stupid and out of place on my ring finger. Terrible "gold" nails. read more

Tough to find nail place that is open Sundays (10-5pm) all the tools used for my pedicure came in individually wrapped sterile pkgs, entire place was beautifully clean- also like that the employees are not always chatting to each other in a foreign language! Staff was attentive to detail and took great care to ensure a pleasant experience. Longest massage of any pedicure I've ever had (got the spa pedi for $38) and the girl did a beautiful intricate flower design on my big toe for an extra few dollars. Called early on a Saturday morning to make an appointment for 1pm. Ended up waiting 40 minutes ! Only reason why I didn't leave was because of their price for a gel manicure ($27) Nail technician was very sweet and helped me pick out a color. I left with a great nail color but horrible cuticles. I could have done a better job. What made it even worse was that my manicure barely lasted a week before the top began to chip and fade away. Horrible customer service! We scheduled an appointment for three people and when we showed up they claimed it was never scheduled. They even went as far as asking to look in the phone records (call history on cellphone) to see if we were lying. When they realized that we weren't they still wouldn't fit us in, apologize or even accept responsibility. I tried calling afterwards and the woman was argumentative and didn't want to listen at all. I've been here several times, each time thinking I'll give it another chance - especially since the pandemic. Welp, it continues to disappoint. I spent half the day calling only to keep getting hung up on at times or constant busy signal, so, I decide to go over there when I had to do errands - they do claim to be 'walk-in friendly' after all. I arrive and there's literally one person in a mani chair. I mean if they're not answering the phone, they're not booking appts. which I don't get. So I sit down to freezing water filling up the bowl and have to tell her, even though the place is about 100 degrees with no AC on and I'm literally sweating the entire time. Then the massage feature on the chair is not working. Now I'm getting aggrevated because (for me) that's half the experience. Then I was completely rushed through in less than 25 minutes (for a pedi). No scrubbing, no hand massage, just a quick drop of lotion rubbed on my leg. She doesn't cut all of my nails, half-assed filing and now my are crooked and will likely break within a week. My big toe got messed up walking to dryer, which she never came back to check on me or put final top coat on. I'd still tipped her by then, so she was done with me. Then she charges me $5 more than they list on their site. So, they jacked their prices by $5, please let us know by having the courtesy to update your menu. And, of course, they prefer CASH.... (ALL business owners and boutique shops should be paying taxes....I won't even go into the conflicts there). No 'good-bye' or 'thank you' upon my departure, even with 2 women sitting at the front desk doing NOTHING. Do yourself a favor and head west on 109 - there are at least 2 other places within half a mile that are 20x better and worth it. read more

Had my first shellac manicure at the new salon in town. So beautiful. So clean. Staff is friendly. Very calm and serene inside. There are not a bunch of employees hollering at each other from across the shop. My manicure was beautiful. I love how she really took her time to make sure it was done right. Although I did not get a pedicure this time, they use a fresh liner for the tub for every person. Nice sanitary addition that you don't find in most salons. The lady at the counter when I walked in NEVER LOOKED UP FROM WHAT SHE WAS DOING to greet a new customer. SHE NEVER LOOKED UP. Not once. Was she reading a romance novel? Was her neck broken? Was she just BORED to tears with her job? She simply said "pick a color," again, without looking up. I didn't even know where the nail polish was! So I looked around the room, talking to myself, and finally spotted the wall of colors. Then I had to look around the room to find the technician who was filling a tub (fitted with plastic...?) with some strange, dark blueish/green water. Chemical city, I'm sure. But what the hell, it's better than getting an infection I think. The actual pedicure left much to be desired. The technician (pedicurist?) was also less than pleasant. She seemed distracted by her own feet and barely cracked a smile during the entire visit. It was as if I was "customer #987" and she was just damn tired (at noon). She also spent about 27 seconds scraping/buffing my feet and about 3 minutes massaging my legs with lotion. At other nail salons, they spend 5-10 minutes scraping/buffing - it's one of the most important parts of a pedicure. Don't feet get scruffy and scrubbly and that is half the reason you get a pedicure in the first place? To clean/polish/buff/smooth your feet? The staff seemed rushed even though there were only 3 people there. The two stars are for the fact that my feet did look nice afterward (of course, I have nice feet to begin with), but the rest of the experience was BLAH ... Location and hours of operation are great. Inside it's very clean and most importantly sanitized. They offer all the right services (nails, facials, wax etc). Price point is also competitive. My only complaint is that the "Manager" seems to be abrupt and rude with an attitude. She forgets that I am/was a loyal customer who paid top dollar and tipped very well. They use tub liners for pedicures and the tools always come in their own little sanitized packets. The staff is nice and they are open on Sundays which is a nice bonus. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the magazine selection is small and they don't offer you anything to drink. Also, they will take credit cards, but the are not very happy about it. It has been a year and half since my review and I can honestly say that I feel the same way, best nail salon in the area. Today I went in for a pedi and got lucky enough to have the owner. I recently stubbed my toe and ended up with a zig zag split in the nail. She was so kind to use her magic potion to bond the nail and buff it so that it would take the polish and not split more.
