Nails were jagged and long and I had what was going to be an ingrown big toenail due to a break it in long ago. My technician went to work and took a long time to get it corrected and hopefully it grows back correctly. The chair was comfortable. I got the Lavender scrub and it was delightful with a leg massage. I felt better afterwards from a good long pedicure. I came for the first time based on customer reviews as well as word of mouth recommendations! I booked an apt with Ken and gave a brief description of what I was wanting. I don't have normal nails, my nails slope upwards and he knew exactly how to fix that. He also was so careful and precise with my nails, as they are very short and little! He was great at recommending what made the most sense for my nails without trying to upsell me and just take all my money (like everywhere else I have been in CHS). Everyone there is so kind! Spectacular! The service was wonderful! Literally hundreds maybe thousands of colors to choose from. Gel, dip, regular polish, they have it all! If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Horrible place! I spent $103 total on a horrible pedicure and horrible full set of acrylic nails requesting a "coffin" style! I don't want to be long winded so, I will try to be brief...after the mediocre pedicure, one in which I was never even given an option as to which pedi I would like to to enjoy...he just gave me one while being on his phone the ENTIRE time, ending in paint on my skin on almost every single toe. He tried to fix it it, but it was just too far gone. After expressing my dissatisfaction he stormed out of the store only to have someone else finish his job! After the full set of nails, I was left with short nails after stating I wanted medium length and almost every single nail was filed unevenly and different lengths! Also, I wasn't left with "coffin's"...they looked more like almonds...so, I was also given a shape I did not ask for! Also, the supposedly "Matching" toenail and fingernail polish DID NOT MATCH AT ALL! Avoid this place at all cost! Oh, did I mention...a pedicure and full set took 2.5 hours out of my day! Unprofessional, extremely rude and well...the place is rather filthy! Again, if I could have rated them ZERO stars I would have and lesson learned...I WILL NEVER RETURN! I am writing this review to hopefully save others from a painful experience. I just received a manicure from the Nail Palace and I left with two of my fingers bleeding. During the manicure the gentleman used a dremel tool to "sand my cuticle", and he sanded off my skin until it bled. I told him it hurt and his response was that "he didn't go to fast and that MY cuticles were bad and that is why it happened". After paying, I went back in to talk to the manager and he told me he was the manager. I told him I was in pain and that I couldn't believe that he did not make an attempt to make this situation right. He told me he was sorry, but again my cuticles were the reason I was bleeding (not because he sanded off my skin until it bled). He then said he would refund me if that is "what I wanted... ( almost as if he was doing me a favor). Please take my warning seriously!! read more

I have gone there for a very long time. The women who owns the place is very nice and sweet but that only gets you so far. NEVER I MEAN NEVER GET THE MAN He does not know how to properly do nails and has given me ingrown toenails several times. He has also said out loud that my nails were ugly and the worst to work with and insulted me and my toe nails, I used to play sports and had shoes that squeezed my toes, so my nails don't grown very fast or long. They only have one women to do Acrylic nails and she's not very good at them. They were very wonky and when I asked for coffin shaped I did not get them I got deformed chunky nails. In total not very nice or pleasant. For living in Charleston my whole life this is the worst nail place ever. read more

If I could leave zero (or negative!) stars, I would. I have very small hands/nails, and I recognize that it can be a little difficult to work with such small nails. Also, due to a genetic condition my nails will split and break when they don't have an acrylic or gel overlay, and I haven't had an overlay recently, so my nails were fairly short today. I have still had nice overlays done at other salons in the past however, so there was really no excuse for the poor results that I ended up with at Nail Palace. The gentleman that greeted me at the door informed me that my nails were too short for an overlay, so I said I would come back later (really, I intended to go to Lee Nails in the Citadel Mall, where I have had a gel overlay done on my "too short" nails before), but the nail tech insisted that I let her see my hands, and promised that she could do the overlay. I should have listened to the gentleman! The tech did my first nail reasonably well, but then for the other 9 nails she decided that she was going to use a nail form to extend the length. I noticed that she was using the nail form over the my natural nail, when every tech I've been to previously has used it UNDER the nail, but I figured she was the professional so I was going to trust that she knew what she was doing. Afterwards I would realize I placed far too much faith in her. During the process, half of the nail forms lifted off of my natural nail, resulting in a gap between my natural nail and the overlay. The gel overlay itself was also unnecessarily thick, resulting in a final outcome of an overlay that was about 2 stacked pennies higher off my finger than my natural nail. I ended up going immediately to Lee Nails (I should have stuck with them in the first place), and the tech there removed the mess and redid my nails, properly this time, for less than I paid Nail Palace to mess them up in the first place. read more

Today I went to the Nail Palace for the first time for a pedicure. That will be the last time I ever go there. My nails were cut far too low, even though I requested not too much to be taken off. They were also cut at angles, not straight. When I returned home, I found six toes with polish on my skin. After 38.00 including a tip, and a short 30 minutes (yes, I timed it) I say no more of my dollars going into their register. The Nail Palace did not feel clean, and dirty far too dog eared magazines were strewn about. There was no "Welcome" when entering, or "Thank You" upon departure. Only the usual, "You pay now." It's definitely not a fancy spa environment but close your eyes and pay $10 extra for the spa pedicure and you'll never know the difference. This is actually the worst nail place I've ever been to. The customer service is awful, they asked me 3 separate times if I wanted SNS when I didn't. My nails were uneven, rough, and jagged. The paint job looked like my 4 year old did it. I have gone to this place twice in the last year just out of convenience and have gone home both times to take my polish off and do it myself. They assured me my wait time would be 5 minutes and I ended up waiting a good 20. As for the service, I pay the extra for a gel manicure because of how long it lasts....this manicure chipped the VERY NEXT DAY. I have had gel manicures last for 3-4 weeks and this is not acceptable. I came in and asked for a sns. They rushed me and my nails were all uneven. They had lumps in the paint. They started to fall off just 5 days after having them. I have gotten my nails done before and they lasted 2-3 weeks. The lady kept pulling on my hand. She didn't even let me answer if the length was ok she just cut them. i asked her if she could fix them and she ignored me and walked off.I was charged $65. This is a horrible place. I just got home and I know I should have had them fix the terrible gel manicure I just got but I felt so awkward in there I had to leave. I got a gel Lincoln manicure. First off, they are using the old uv aging lights versus the new led to dry the gel. These haven't been used for over a year at any respectable place. The nail stations were filthy and they never used sanitized tools. Someone should report these people honestly. My hands now have two cuts and the manicure is a mess. They also filed my nails after the gel manicure!? They are jagged with tons of gel in the cracks of my nails. Honestly my two year old nephew could have done a better job. Just don't go. My nails look nice, but I don't think they wash the tools. They talk on their cell phones, deal large quantities of cash in front of your and are just sort of dirty. I was like are you serious, he said he was joking. I promise you not more than 2 minutes later he came back over and pat my leg signaling that he was ready for me to take my feet out of soaking.
