I will like to share a story with you that happened on Saturday April 13th. I dropped my 19 year old daughter off at Nail Max located at 3940 Peachtree Industrial Blvd Duluth, GA 30096 to obtain a manicure.
My daughter called me crying and upset because they were attempting to charge her $50.00 for a simple manicure that normally runs about $25.00. She explained to the nail technician that she do not want acrylic nails, she only wants an overlay. As my daughter and the nail technician explained to me it was an overall breakdown in communication.
The horrific details of this story is what happened when I arrived to pick my daughter up. My daughter was still in tears when I arrived. She was explaining to me what happened as the nail tech was removing the damage from her hands.
I kindly asked the owner to give my daughter back her money that was removed from her lap without her permission...that's right my daughter had her money in her lap, and they took the money out of her lap before her services was complete and without her permission.
The owner and I exchanged words verbally, as she refused to give my daughter back her money. The owner and (3) other nail technicians continuously yelled at my daughter, refusing to talk to me. I repeatedly ask them to refrain from talking to her and speak with me only. I asked the owner will she come outside to speak with us so we want be a disruption to her business because she had about (5) patrons in the store but that didn't matter to her.
We couldn't come to a resolution so we decided to leave. Upon getting back in our vehicle, the owner husband was in his van next to ours taking pictures of us, then he pointed an assault rifle (see picture attached) at us. He was parading around with his gun, and drinking beer.
We immediately called the police, and waited 15 minutes for the police to arrive. The owner (husband) ended up leaving the scene, and we did too after the police didn't arrive for after 15 minutes.
We felt like we were really taken advantage of and would like media to put this story out. My daughter left the nail shop worse than how she arrived. She felt degraded, robbed out of $30.00 (they took $40.00 out of her lap), but they gave me $10.00 back, and then they pulled a gun out on us.
I can't believe someone who services the community at this magnitude would display this type of behavior. No one should have to be treated like this.
We hear too often of people dying daily because of senseless gun violence, thank God our story didn't end that way. read more
