I did a manicure in this place and the girl who attended me did not clean the nail clipper or cuticle cut that I use with the previous client although I asked her, I cut my cuticle and a finger bled, and with the line I lift the cuticle in two fingers my fingers were sore after the terrible manicure experience and in the end I just wanted me to increase the tip after everything that made me suffer read more

My pedicure lasted 12 minutes from start to finish. The nail technician performed each step extremely quickly and was pushy with my legs and feet which made me feel really uncomfortable rather than at ease or even close to relaxed. Nail polish all over my skin at the end with a sloppy paint job on the nails themselves. Cuticles hardly cleaned, calluses hardly worked on, 1 minute massage, and nails not shaped well. $37 for this anxiety inducing 12 minute experience. When I went to pay, I was told my total but I was not asked how everything was or anything of the sort. I called shortly after and asked if 12-15 minutes for a pedi is standard there and was told "it takes as long as it takes" and that I could come back and express my experience in-person and the person who did my pedi *might* give me discount next time or *possibly* a longer massage next time but she couldn't say because she can't speak for the nail tech who would be making the decision. Now let me just say, I have worked in the salon/spa industry for almost 20 years. I had never been into this nail salon so didn't know what to expect but have never experienced a service this low in caliber before so was not expecting this. Yes a service can take 10-15 minutes, just as a haircut or facial can also take a short amount of time but you can also spend a little more time on each step to make sure your clients nails are clean, their experience feels calming and their polish is satisfactory and lasts. I mean, isn't that what we are paying for? If you rush any type of service, yes you can get it done in half the time it should take but it will be half as good as it should be. The technician was running about 15 minutes behind before she sat me so she was frantic from the start and she had an appt right after but you must give each person their full experience rather than making up your time by cutting someone short. A pedicure or any salon service does not "take as long as it takes" if you are rushing and doing a poor job. Each step should be performed with some level of care so that in the end, your client feels taken care of and leaves with a nice result. Unfortunately that's not how they do business. read more

This review is for the Corte Madera location: I never knew about the wondrous satisfaction of having a manicure last a whole week until I started going to Siciliano Nails. For it's price point (a mere $12) this is a five star nail salon. Just don't come here if you're expecting a rose petal foot soak and shiatsu massage. Come here if you want an inexpensive, long-lasting gorgeous manicure and friendly, prompt service. I also love that the color selection extends beyond the usual petal pink to dark red--there are some neons in there, and a healthy dose of yellows, oranges, and blues too! And they don't use those disgusting whirlpools for the pedicures, so you know you won't be coming home with a flesh-eating bacteria. Always a bonus. Basically, I've been coming here for years, and I'll be coming back for years to come. Coming back from Sam's, a friend and I wanted a manicure/pedicure. While it should have been a sign when the prices weren't listed anywhere, I was a bit shocked when it came to $35, particularly since there had been no top coat, or formal nail dryers. The cuticles were not pushed back, and two hours later, I can see where the nail bed is receding from the polish. Later, I noticed some toenails had been cut on the bias. Is that the new trend? I've been going to Sicilano Nails (in Tiburon) for years. The staff are attentive and friendly and the cost of a basic manicure/pedicure is only $35.00 - and that seems pretty hard to beat! Super friendly, very clean charming staff. I'm very happy with my manicure and pedicure. They seem to have a steady flow of repeat clients that they know by name and that tells me a lot. So nice to finally get a pedicure again! The ladies here are great at what they do and have their stations outside in front of the salon to avoid being indoors. Masks and face shields are worn by the staff, I was able to do a walk-in and am very pleased with the result. read more

I grew up in Belvedere and my mother had been a regular client of theirs since there opening. and have to say over the years the service has gotten A LOT better. i used to be pretty hit and miss, but in the last two years they have really gotten their acts together and now produce a great relaxing mani/pedi expeirence. the only reason they are not getting 5 stars is the price. i usually only go with my mom cause without herits a bit to pricy for me. read more

Completely hit or miss, but mostly miss. I walked in once and told them I had gel on my hands twice and that I wanted to remove it. When I sat down the woman barely looked and me and insisted I stick my hands in water...the beginning of a normal manicure. I told her I had gel again for a 3rd time and she looked annoyed and then proceeded to finally do the right job but stayed annoyed the whole time. That manicure was too fast and I didn't even get a hint of a massage on my hands. I have gone there several other times and always feel like I'm interrupting something by asking for a manicure or pedicure. Well, I've been going to Siciliano Nails for years b/c my sister lives up the street from them. There isn't an Italian in sight (so I'm not sure what the deal with the name is) but I think they are terrific. I'm not sure what bee was lodged in the previous reviewers bonnet. In fact, sometimes I go visit my sister just so I can work Siciliano's in to the schedule. They are quick which I like. When I moved back from NYC I was so irritated by how long CA manicures took. You go to some place in Palo Alto and it can take 45 mins to get your nails done and they don't even do that good a job. This place is great. read more

I have been going to this location for almost 2 years and always had excellent service, although it is a bit pricey. Unfortunately today one of the owners provided the same service I always have and charged me an extra $10 with some lame excuse that it was more work. When I complained all she could say was :"no no no." The owner made this such an unpleasant experience that I will never go back, even though I live close by. I felt completely ripped off. Ask what they are going to charge you for your service before they start working on you--if you dare go in there at all. I wouldn't. read more

Although this salon is clean and the atmosphere is nice, I will not be back. The chairs were wonderful and I was excited for a great mani/pedi when I first walked in. I have ingrown toenails on my big toes and she hurt me pretty bad when trying to fix them. So when we got around to the massage part, I was very much looking forward to it. (I'm used to my 10-15 min massaging on feet for most pedicures and at least 5 min for manicures. ) So I was shocked when this place did about 1 minute!!!! About all the time it took them to slap on the lotion and then done! Are you kidding me?! What a joke. And for the price they are charging, they should be pulling out all the stops. I've been going to this nail salon since 1997, and despite moving to San Francisco for a year (where I could *never* find anyone to do my nails as well as they do here), I drove back to Tiburon just to get my nails done at this salon. The prices are very good, the shop is clean with nice lighting, and parking is right out front. I now live in Tiburon again, but would never change salons. Everywhere I go, people comment on how nice my nails look. I wear acrylic nails, and this salon is the best. I hope they are always here! read more

I've been going to the Siciliano Nails in Corte Madera regularly for almost 5 years and this is definitely the best nail place I've found within a 5 mile radius of Larkspur. I lived in SF for 11 years, where I had manicures and pedicures almost WEEKLY. I've tried a ton of different places and this is the best by far. The ladies are nice and most communicate in English very well. The salon is very clean, they sanitize their instruments and they use many products only once. I like that they have actual massage chairs (that offer kneading and compression) vs. those lame "spa" pedicure chairs that simply vibrate. They have a nice selection of OPI colors and constantly get new ones. They charge $35 for a mani/pedi, which isn't the cheapest but certainly competitive for the area. You can't add the tip onto the credit card slip so either tip in cash or tell the manicurist before she rings you up. read more

I like to be generous with reviews because I understand how hard it is to be in the service industry. But when I enjoy a day off and want to treat myself, I get bummed out when everything is marginal at best. The staff IS somewhat friendly, the place is somewhat clean (although I noticed the medical looking sealed "sanitized" implements were kinda rusty and finger-printed) and the prices are pretty much the going. I asked for a polish change on my feet and the new "Shellac" 2 week Manicure on my hands, and that's supposed to be a regular Manicure with the wonderful and amazing 2 week polish...... I did get a cuticle clean up. But the massage, which comes after the polish application on this service, was virtually non-exsistent She just put the lotion on my hands, no massage (none on my arms). My Manicurist answered the phone and needed to go look at the schedule, so my "massage" was honestly, 10 seconds on each hand and and only the hand not the arm at all. When I was finished, I noticed the polish was uneven and much lighter up near the cuticle...it clearly needed another coat because sometimes the darker polishes need that. I guess I wasn't going to be getting that, because she had other women waiting for their appointments. I just don't understand why service people would rather do QUANTITY over QUALITY.... why not do one client really good so she will return, instead of doing 2 clients that will maybe come back oly if they have no other option, but would not recommend....I just don't get that. So I spent $45 for a toe polish change and a Shellac Manicure and feel like it's just "okay" because I needed polish on me for a party tomorrow, but I just don't feel like I got a good quality service...my nail polish is lighter on half of the nail bed and my arms are dry and needed the usual manicure lotion treatment. Ohhhh well, poor planning on my part. But the staff was pleasant enough. read more

Whoa. This place is terrible. In fact, I joined yelp just to write this review. I am getting married next month in Tiburon and wanted to make nail appointments for me and my bridesmaids. I was pleased to find this place right across the street from our hotel. And I decided might as well try it out right away...thank goodness I did. And I will not be going back. I had the same experience as the first reviewer. And it was the fastest and roughest pedicure I've ever had. At one point the woman was filing my skin and I had to ask her to stop. They gave me cold water to soak my feet in (a woman next to me got water so hot she couldn't put her feet in until it cooled off,) no cuticle cutting, horrible streaky polish job, and when I asked for another coat the woman said no. She said, "Color looks different on some people's toes." Uh, what? I couldn't wait to get out of there. I live in SF and I thought $35 was a pretty reasonable price for a mani/pedi...put SO not worth it. At all. Blech. read more

I don't know of a nail salon that could be more accomodating. While having a manicure at least 2 people walked in without appointments and only had to wait about 15 minutes before they could be seen. The place was very clean. Pedicures are given in disposable tubs. The owner as well as all the personnel always say hello to anyone who enters the shop--very personable. JG read more

Never, never, NEVER get your nails done here. They are the RUDEST most unfriendly, unprofessional nail salon I've ever been to. The first two times were torturous but after my third visit, I will never go back. They cannot do nails, they don't massage whatsoever and they pull your hands and fingers and generally treat customers like dirt. Never had such rough awful badly lumpy polished snagged nails and disgusting behaviour... I signed up to Yelp purely to say how bad this place is. Beware. read more

I have been going to this nail salon for the past seven years. It is by far the best nail salon in Marin! I would recommend this salon to anyone!!The lady's response below is incredibly inaccurate!! I thinks she must be referring to another nail salon! I woud just like to clarify for anyone out there all the misconceptions the lady blow had mislead you on. First and foremost, there is not only a top coat but a base coat as well, and there are at least two formal nail dryers at each seat, and your cuticles are most certainly pushed back. They do an excellent paint job, and they ask you how much you want your nails cut so maybe the lady below asked for her toenails to be cut on the bias.
