The team here pays great attention to the service they're providing. I always leave feeling like my nails were taken care of, and they look super pretty and shiny. The store has lots of parking available and places near by to grab a coffee, tea, treat, lunch etc. They do get busy so I recommend calling to make an appt or check about walk-ins. read more

This place is not what it used to be. Service is not the same and the quality of work is in the photo. I had a the owner give me a fresh set of acrylics. I asked for off white and explained I was in a wedding and attention to detail is priority. Peter explained it was done. Nails were wet, gritty and so sloppy. I asked him to please fix them and he said they were done. I explained myself kindly and paid in full plus tip. They made it clear they didn't care if I came back or not and refused to fix them. I can no longer recommend this business. read more

I asked for an almond shaped acrylic set with minimal design and was greatly disappointed. The nails were bulky, rushed and the paint itself had bubbles and chips. I waited under the nail dryer for 30+ minutes and the paint was still wet. You get what you pay for I suppose. They're cheaper for a reason. I'm sure they do fine with the older crowd that comes in but if you've got your regular nail tech just go to them honestly. read more

Do not go here. I paid for a pedicure and left with paint smeared all over multiple toes and one nail was only half polished. I waited patiently to make sure my nails were dry before leaving, so it wasn't a case of me smudging them. The technician who worked on me immediately moved on to another customer while my toes were drying and never came back to check on my nails. There was no one else to help or fix the issue. This place is also pricier than other nail salons in the area, so there's really no excuse for the bad job. Overall, the experience felt rushed and careless. I will not be returning. Honestly, my four-year-old daughter could have done a better paint job. read more

Place looks nice and staff were friendly. However, I requested the most expensive pedicure that includes a 15 min leg massage and 5 mim hot stones, the older lady who did my pedicure either just didnt care to do a good job, or had no idea what she was doing. Toe nails were not filed properly, massage felt like someone just running their hand on you, no pressure, hot stones where just rubbed on the skin with no pressure, disliked the service and doubted her skills so much by the end that I didnt let her paint my toes, but was still charged full price despite not getting polish, which is included in the service price. Also the guy who did my nail fill did the entire service at the pedicure chair, grinding the old polish and acrylic near the water basin my feet were in, so i know residue was getting in there, and the polish job was not great on my nails and is lifting already (just got them today). Again, everyone was nice, I was just not impressed with the quality of service. Maybe it was just the techs I got, it was my first time there. But I likely wouldnt go back. read more

it took me so long to find a great nail salon in Marin. Most people would stare at me blankly when I said that I wanted an almond shaped nail. Nj nails were the only nail salon that delivered what I asked for and their work lasts. They are always so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. At my last appointment, I wanted a brown color they didn't have so they helped me find two colors we could mix together to get the result I wanted. I also had a nail break while shopping at target and gave them a call, and they told me to come right over and removed my full set for me (it was past time). Great quality. Great people. They are extremely friendly and do a great job with cleaning up and shaping nails. I wish they updated their nail polishes. Available polish colors are not great and last time they mixed two to make it the color I selected from the options they had on the color wheel and it looked streaky & see-through. Since it was gel, I didn't want to have it re-done. Would love to see some new good quality gel polish options. read more

Everyone is great! They're all very friendly and are very clearly experts in what they do. My nails come out perfectly every single time and last about a month. If my nails didn't grow so fast they would certainly last longer since the polish itself holds up like it was done yesterday even though it's been several weeks. Awful experience. $80 for a gel pedicure is ridiculous. Especially for the half decent job they did, I wanted to like this place the woman working here were friendly and kind, felt like a clean place. But I made an appointment and got there on time but they made me wait 30 minutes sitting with my feet in cold water waiting for my nail tech. She cut my toes and painted my skin. It's been TWO DAYS AND THE PAINT IS ALREADY PEELING. NOT worth $80 whatsoever. Please look elsewhere unless you like wasting your time and money. read more

Mai gave me an incredible spa pedicure! She cut the corners of my big toes (mild ingrown toenails) better than any pedicurist has ever done for me! I will be seeing her for all my future pedicures. My friend made an appointment for both of us to get pedicures. She arrived a few minutes before me & was almost done while I sat with my feet soaking for over 20 minutes. The staff was rude & unapologetic. Since we were having lunch together, I didn't want her to wait for me an extra 45 minutes. I left with prune feet -nothing else. This is my go to place after I tried several places in Marin. Leo is my favorite for gel manicure ( Jessica also has done a good job). I always get a lot of compliments-see latest Halloween nails ))) They can make whatever picture you find online happen. A little on the more expensive side, but worth it to me. I like that the place is clean and the tools are sanitized, they use inserts for pedicure baths, and have different pedicure options. I don't typically have to wait too long when I come in, they are attentive and it doesn't feel rushed. My gel nails usually last 3-4 weeks. read more

Do they do dip powder here?

What do they use for pedicure foot soaks? Is it one of those tubs that gets drained and refilled? Or a bowl that can be emptied out and cleaned?

They use the plastic bags to line the tub attached to the chair.

Do they have dip powder manicures here?

I was there a few weeks ago and I heard them say no when asked about dip powder. Maybe they will in the future. Check back.

My friend and I were able to get a same day appointment. I got a pedi and my friend got a mani and a pedi. My experience overall was great and the lady who did my nails was nice and friendly. She spent a good amount of time massaging my legs and feet and I didn't feel she rushed through my appointment. The salon is clean and tidy. It is located in a small strip mall off South Novato Blvd next to Stefano's pizza. I will definitely come back in the future.

I went to the nail salon…read morein the vintage oaks shopping center but they were too busy & said i needed to make an appointment for another day. There were about 20 customers. Then I remember there is a nail salon on grant ave in novato - hawaiian nails. They have a big sign that says walk- ins welcome. I go in & there are no other customers. weird. So the whole time I'm trying to figure out WHY there are no customers. Figured it out: the place is kind of messy & depressing; the music in the background is elevator music; the 3 employees were like zombies-not nice, no smiles ,no talking. The pedicure was ok but i will not go back because it was so depressing there.
