I've been wanting to get my nails done here for awhile after reading the good reviews. I don't get mani's and pedi's regularly so it's always a treat when I do. My friend and I were able to get a same day appointment. I got a pedi and my friend got a mani and a pedi. My experience overall was great and the lady who did my nails was nice and friendly. She spent a good amount of time massaging my legs and feet and I didn't feel she rushed through my appointment. The salon is clean and tidy. It is located in a small strip mall off South Novato Blvd next to Stefano's pizza. I will definitely come back in the future. read more

I called this morning when my back was hurting and spoke with Lele. She told me I could come in within 15 minutes despite her packed schedule. I drove over, and she provided phenomenal customer service. I even went to the bank to get more money to tip her because she did an exceptional job with my nails. I think LeLe is also the owner and was pulled in a few different directions, which I didn't mind Because, ultimately, she did a perfect and fantastic job! My husband will love these! Please ensure that you bring some cash because they cannot take tips with their Apple Pay reader, so I went to the bank, grabbed her a 20, ran back to the salon, and decided to give her this review as an added bonus. I think I have found my new nail salon! My pedicure was done by Kim and done beautifully, no pain, nice paint job. My tips were done by Lily, as a last minute request when I was only scheduled for a mani-pedi. They are great! I absolutely love them. I had tips done last month at another salon and had to cut them off the same night, they were so bad. They were very fat and badly painted. Not so with Lily! So happy I came here! read more

On a lark I decided to get my eyebrows touched up since I get them done by a shop every six months and do in between maintenance on my own. Got there they had a few people in for hands and feet there was a woman who I guess is their wax person. They had me take a seat and was about 10 minutes before she called me back. I'm guessing she had to wait for the wax to warm up a bit as the first bit was a little difficult to spread it felt like. She was quick. Did not have to pluck a bunch as she got them the first go. If in novato again and needing a wax I will stop in. Maybe call ahead to make sure the wax is warm. read more

if i could give zero stars i would. I just came from this salon and had to stop the services before he could finish because it hurt so bad. When I walked in the man working going to take off my acrylics, was wearing NO shoes or socks. second he did not sanitize or clean his hands whatsoever and began to pick at my acrylics with his FINGER NAIL trying to literally rip my acrylics off my nails. When he noticed that wasn't doing much he then got a PLASTIC NAIL TIP and began to SCRAPE underneath my acrylics, resulting in my actual nail getting ripped from my nail bed. i began flinching n pulling back n said "ow" because it was hurting. to fix his mistake of ripping my nail off he applied NAIL GLUE ON THE WOUND, which was bleeding. After seeing how poorly of a job he was doing he then grabbed the acetone and began the soak off. keep in mind he had already ripped my nails so this really stung and hurt immensely. he tried about three times applying the soak off, going in with the drill, and scraping the acrylics with his finger nails. nothing was working for him and it only hurt more with every try. My skin was burning, i was in pain so i pulled away and said "i'm done thank you how much for just this" he then try's to GRAB MY HANDS BACK and says "no i need to take this off" and seemed very frustrated and angry. I then said no and repeated what i said and pulled my hands away. he charged me $15 for this terrible and unsanitary service. The vibe in the store was nice yet it was clear i was in pain and he was not doing his job correctly and none of the employees said anything about this. read more

I have been here a few times and had the owner or another woman and the results have been fine (not great, but fine for last minute appts). Today, I had the only man working there do my nails and I literally had to ask him to stop because he was hurting me. I have never had anyone cause pain when filing my nails and taking off gel like he did. When I left my nails were throbbing and all different lengths and shapes. Thankfully another salon down the way took me and did a great job. Bummer. read more

I would've got there sooner but I left my house and drove in the wrong direction And There was a card issue at the gas station across from my house. That made me late, 15 min late. I just moved to North Bay and haven't gotten my bearings on the town directions yet. Ugh I came in and said I was here and the lady kind of smirked at me saying I called a 1/2 hour ago. And? I'm paying you for a service, not the other way around. Its my fault but honestly prolly Not the best way to start a relationship when I'm looking for a new nail shop but I was willing to move on. The lady doing my pedicure was an older woman with a short haircut (pixie style) and she was pretty rough on my feet. She cut the skin next to a toe and it was bleeding. Not okay. However, she did mend a broken big toe nail with glue and white powder. PROS: - use bags to soak feet. Nice and sanitary - OPI nail colors to choose from - clean place CONS: - pedicure was fast which is nice but she didn't clean up the cuticle bed that great or under the nails, I saw her skip a few - massage was just rubbing lotion, no actual massage - when taking off old polish she was rough - they don't have callous removal available to add on to pedicure - pedicure was $22, I'm used to paying $17 - nail paint not as clean between nail and toes as I'd like, kind of messy In the end it's a decent place. If I just state my needs I'm sure they would meet them, hopefully. I might return for my next pedicure or try other places in town. read more

Got a pedicure and eyebrow wax a few days back. They have a small room in the back for waxing. The lady did an amazing job with my bushman post-pandemic eyebrows. The same lady did my pedicure. Pedicure was decent. I would have liked a little more thorough scraping/cuticle cleaning, but it was not bad. They have little hanging plastic shields around the massage chairs for safety. When I walked in, Lily just looked stern like who are you and what do you want. I had made an appointment. She took me over and started the water to soak my feet. The pedicure started 30 minutes past my appointment time. The manicurist (I think her name was Kim) started the pedicure and started talking to Lily and her husband and all 3 of them were looking at my feet. In a panicked voice I asked what was going on because they were talking in their own language. I tend to have ingrown nails and the girl was having a fit. My nails have to be cut a certain way and past manicurist never had a problem. I was happy to leave if she didn't want to do it. I tried to pull my foot back but she had s good grip and aggressively pulled the hangnail out. I had to push her hand away with my other foot. She finished the pedicure and did a nice job but the nail wasn't cut the way I wanted. I liked that the place was clean, the chairs were really nice and the pedicure was good. But I had a hard time with the unwelcoming and disrespectful attitudes. read more

This seems to be my favorite place for a pedi. They do a very nice job and it is relaxing and clean.

It's was over all a pretty good experience. The workers weren't talking to each other and laughing as they do at most nail salons. This is the first nail salon where I didn't feel like they were talking shit and laughing. Ladies you know what I'm talking about. My nails came out how I wanted and it was only 28$ for gel nails. My only complaint is that the lady didn't clean up my nails that much. She didn't trim my cuticles and she was a little sloppy when apply the gel nail polish. It over lapped on to my cuticles. If you get gel nails here please write me back suggesting a specific person! Over all pretty good experience. Will definitely go back probably will just request a different worker :) but the lady was nice! UPDATE: I had to go back TWO days later to get my nails fixed because the gel was already lifting. The lady who fixed them did a WAY better job. Won't be going back. Tired of wasting money at nail salons and not having it come out good. So happy I found Fancy Nails! It just so happens to be right down the street from where I live. Before finding them I was bouncing around almost everywhere in Novato and San Rafael, until I got referred by a friend over a year ago and I have not gone anywhere else since. Lily is the owner and she has the best staff! I have seen all of them including the owner and they are all really great. Moi, Ken, Rose and Kim are all wonderful! They're always taking such great care of my nails and are so nice to talk to. You get a lovely hand and shoulder massage with manicures and an amazing leg and foot massage with hot stones for pedicures. I don't know how I stay awake for all of it but it's amazing. They are super clean and use liners for pedicures. Massage chairs are super comfy. I'm always getting off work later than expected but they are the only place that stays open after 6 so that's a huge plus! It's best to schedule an appointment but sometimes I get lucky when walking in. Lily always does her best to accommodate but they're popular and always busy so I don't even mind waiting. I usually get regular mani/pedi but on occasion I get a Gel French mani by Ken and he does a fantastic job and it last so long! Thanks everyone at Fancy Nails!
