This was by far the best experience I have ever had at a nail salon! They recently remodeled and it looks amazing. I went in for a gel manicure and it was everything I wanted and more! My nails were perfectly shaped and well taken care of and the hand/ arm massage was to die for and she even wrapped it up with a neck and shoulder massage. I went in to get a manicure gel manicure because my normal salon did not have time. Kim did my nails which I loved at first when I left within an hour they chipped. I was on the bus so it was frustrating I could not go back to ask them to fix them. I did call to say I wanted to come back to have my nails fixed. I did go back the next day. When Kim was re-doing my nails she audibly said things that chipping was my fault. I asked her not to snap at me which is not acceptable for a nail salon I asked you repeatedly not to snap at me. When I accidentally tapped my nails in the light she said oh my God as if it were my fault. Gel manicure should not chip within an hour not only and certainly not three or four nails. If I go back I will ask Lily to do my nails. Very clean and the massage was amazing . read more

This is my first review here on Yelp! I had such a pleasant experience on my first time there but on the second time to go there to get my nails done. I had called beforehand to see if they had time to squeeze me in for a manicure and they said it was good to go but when I got there one of the manicurists looked unhappy as I got there. Sat me down and proceeded to take my gel manicure off... Roughly might I add. Like i flinched so many times and didnt even acknowledge it. When pulling my dead skin out, it was so rough and when finished, poured alcohol straight into the nail, I flinched because it stung so bad. I asked to get my nails cut as short as possible and didn't even listen to me. All of my nails had bubbles and uneven and just ugly. I wish I had said something but i was just a walk in so i felt like i had no place to complain. I ended up taking them off when I got home. Just wasted my money tbh. read more

My fifth time here, and I love it. This place is the best for your money! And all the staff are very nice. I've only gotten full sets and refills so I can't contest to any of the other amenities. But I pay a little over thirty for fills and gel with broken nails every time! Quality is superb, very happy with the work that they do. read more

I needed to find a new spot in Novato, Fancy Nails was my first stop. Everyone is super friendly, great prices and a clean environment. I've had manicures, pedicures, gel polish, pink and whites, and standard acrylic. Every service was very well done and I highly recommend this salon to anyone. Good for drop ins, I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes but as always it is best to call. Lili usually does my nails, she is SO sweet you will just love her. My favorite... gel polish and shoulder massage. TO DIE FOR after a 9 hour shift of sitting at my desk! Oh! she does waxing too. Best eye brows, ever! read more

My favorite things about a nail salon is always the massage, and how little they require you to chat. They are super friendly here, but they also really let you enjoy the peaceful experience, which is really important to me when I'm away from my kids. And the massages are awesome! I'm a regular now. I love this place. There is nothing fancy about this place, but they do a wonderful job every single time. My favorite is Rose, but all of the ladies there are good. Simple, clean environment. They really take their time and do high quality work. It's a smaller place so I recommend making an appointment, but it's usually easy to get a same-day appointment if you call early in the day. There are many nail salons in town but I keep going back to this one because they do the best work. You can pay with credit card, but do bring cash for tips. Today I called Fancy nails at a super inconvenient time for a nail appointment 20 mins before closing. Lily, whom I believe is the owner, welcomed me in despite the late appointment and was very nice to me and took her time to make sure I had perfect nails! She did not rush her work or anything. She did a wonderful job on my nails, she even gave me complimentary gems on two of my fingers! I have never been so happy with a full set in my life! I made an appointment at Fancy Nails for waxing in advance, the man took my phone, name, and I even wrote it for him on a note, that he gave me with date and time, to make sure that they won't miss anything. When I came for my appointment, stuff start to actively talk with each other not in English, than about 5 minutes after, the woman, who was doing some lady nails came to me , and said "I'm sorry, but we can't serve you right now. He told me that you made an appointment, but I forgot to put you in schedule. Can you come tomorrow?". I said "No, I was need to hire nanny to come to you, I can't come tomorrow". I have been going to Fancy Nails for a very long time - I want everyone to know - you will not find a better place in our little tiny community - even though there are tons of shops. Lily and Ken just spent a lot of time with the remodel and the shop is so bright and especially extremely clean! All of the people working here take pride in what they do - they are very friendly and for me - my mani-peds last anywhere from 2-3 weeks depending on what I am doing - also - the Price is Right! As others have said - the mani-ped are great but the massages make it an even better experience as you come out feeling more relaxed and with beautiful hands and feet - please give them a try - you will not regret it. read more

I agree with all these great reviews! I was in town for one night and did a search on yelp. I called to schedule a mani/pedi. Had one working on my hands and the other on my feet at the same time :) I LOVE efficiency. Each nail technician did an extra long massage (I got the basic, no frills option). My finger nails notoriously chip on the 2nd day, yet it's been 5 days an they are still going strong (neutral color)! I got French pedi (just $3 extra) and the toes are still perfect as well! I really love coming to Fancy Nails. Their prices are reasonable and I always get great service. I usually go for the $32 dollar mani/pedi, I've had multiple ladies work on me and they have all been wonderful, I base my pedicures mostly on massages and they do a fantastic job, when you get a manicure they even massage your shoulders, a wonderful touch! The place is very clean and sanitary, the staff is always friendly and welcoming, it is also very relaxing, not to much chattering which I really like. Today I brought my mom who got an acrylic fill from the gentlemen that works there and she was very impressed for the price, just $20. I really reccommend the place, I've tried nail salons all over Marin and really enjoy this one! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Without a doubt the worst nail salon I've ever been too. The guy did not do the shape I wanted for my acrylics and when I told him to stop he kept filing. I finally told him to take it off and start over because it was filed so skinny length wise it looked like a toothpick. He then got frustrated and started pulling my arm in an aggressive way rather than using his words for me to adjust. He also began to rush and not care. I was supposed to get gel as well and I basically couldn't even get my nails painted because I felt so uncomfortable and the nails already looked so bad I just wanted to get out of there. This is the BEST nail shop in Novato. It is meticulously clean and the only place I know that gives you a neck and shoulder massage with every manicure. They also do a hot stone leg and foot massage with each pedicure. Very friendly and relaxing place. Beautifully remodeled too! read more

This review is long overdue. I visited this nail salon because of the large number of good reviews. After my visit, I cannot figure out how anyone has had a good experience at this place. The salon is small and old, with outdated decor and nail stations and chairs in desperate need of replacement. The employees were rude and did not do a very nice job on either my manicure or pedicure. I had a standard pedicure and a gel/shellac manicure. My toes looked like I had painted them myself, and the whole reason I get pedicures is because I suck at painting my own nails. The gel/shellac started peeling within a day and it was all over my cuticles. I wish I had pictures because it was unbelievably bad. If I hadn't had a time constraint, I would have asked them to redo both my manicure and pedicure. When it came time to pay, it was way more expensive than I expected. I've visited much nicer nail salons--where the service and quality was excellent-- that did not charge as much. As I said before, I have no idea how so many people have given this nail salon decent reviews because my entire experience was terrible. Funny thing, a few weeks after I went there, I was visiting my mom and she mentioned that she had gone to a nail salon that had overall good Yelp reviews. She was shocked at the poor service and the horrible quality. Turns out, she had visited this same place. I had to apologize for not warning her about how awful it was when I went there. I usually do my own pedicures at home but I was out with my mom and wanted to treat her to a girly day of pedicures and then lunch. We dropped in here and they were able to take us within 30 minutes. This isn't a fancy spa, just a great little place to get a quick and efficient nail service. Reasonably priced, too. We were both happy with our pedicures and mine lasted several weeks.
