Service has completely gone down here. Sure, the place looks nice but don't waste your time if you expect prompt, friendly service or any sort of organization. Don't be fooled by the greeter/hostess who served no function as the staff are all confused and disorganized. While i had a very nice technician for my pedi, everyone's head seemed to explode when i also wanted a mani. I was asked 3 times by 3 different people if I wanted a mani. Umm, yes. I said that when i walked in 2 hours ago. Stay away until they get a new manager and some customer service training. This is on top a pretty large price increase. Way too many cheaper and friendlier nail salons in Astoria to waste time here. Not all bad news though, I did like my nail color for the pedi hence the 1 star. I have been going here for quite some time, and recently the service has just become subpar. I went in for sns last week, and it took a total of 3.5 hours because my nail technician kept messing up. And it took her a total of 1 hour to remove my previous gel manicure. Once it was finally done and I was ready to let the top coat dry, I was sitting there alone when she just decided to get up and leave and go on and do other things. There was no closing ceremony or a "thank you have a nice day" which is important in customer service, she just left the bill next to me which I found very rude, she didn't even ask if I was ok with the finished product. I got no massage, no paraffin wax treatment, no lotion, none of the extras that come with a good manicure. And yes this still took 3.5 hours. Funny thing is I felt like she was rushing with me but it still took her 3.5 hours.. When my nails were finally dry I noticed spotting on a few nails, and clearly this is not supposed to happen. I kept trying to go to her and show her, as this was a 45 dollar manicure, and I wasn't going to leave until I was happy. She didn't know how to help me. I was furious. So I went to the manager and she helped me and fixed my nails for me. So basically, my nail technician didn't know how to apply sns, which I think is a pretty basic procedure. I was happy with the final product, they do a decent job there, but it used to be A LOT better. Also forgot to mention that I wanted a pedicure too.. but after a 3.5 hour sns manicure, which should already be quicker than regular polish, I was not about to spend any more time in that place... reconsidering my options now as I was a very frequent and loyal customer. Update again: For a long while this place has been pretty great - they seemed to notice I come every two weeks and get many services. Alas, like other recent reviewers today they once again slipped to unprofessional antics and after I had my pedicure I've been sat here for over 20 minutes waiting for my manicure as they reassigned my technician to someone else. I came early because I know they get busy and I have only a limited time today. When I spoke with management they were unhelpful saying the other people had appointments now. So? The technician should not be reassigned just because of their poor planning. I was told just 5 minutes longer over 5 minutes ago. I guess it doesn't pay to complain either as I'm now being ignored. Such a shame as the technicians are lovely but the management is just terrible at actually managing. Update: I'm sat here on a very busy Saturday morning and I would like to update my review as I have witnessed the staff here being very truthful and up front about the wait to all customers including me. If you had asked me before today I would have hands down given them 5 stars. I decided to come in quickly today on my lunch break but came at 11am so as not to get caught up in any lunch rush. What a mistake it was coming during the week (all other times were at the weekend). They told me it would be 10 mins wait for my pedicure and sat me in a pedicure chair. Fine. Not a problem. After 15 mins I notice them already serving other customers that entered after me, one of which clearly did not have a reservation (she entered and asked "do you have time for a pedicure" 2 mins after I entered). At that point I ask how much longer I will be waiting and note it's well past 10 mins and they are serving other customers before me. I get a shrug of the shoulders and told 2/3 mins more. 10 minutes later someone comes to my chair and asks me if I want to upgrade my pedicure. I explain I now don't have time to. She disappears for another 10 mins. I'm still sat in this chair 40 mins after entering and luckily my technician seems nice (even if she's unimpressed I didn't ask for a spa pedicure). Customer service needs a serious check here when it comes to being truthful with your customers and honoring the order they enter your premises. Such a shame as on a weekend I have had great service and none of this attitude. And I just had to leave as they took so long. So a complete waste of my time. read more

This negative review is based solely on the service I received. I was a new customer, so I called to make an appointment. I arrived on time for this appointment, and waited more than 20 minutes to be seen. When I finally was asked to be seated for my pedicure, the woman doing my nails laughed at my deformed toes. This is something I've always been self conscious about, an the staff were unnecessary unkind about it. So much so, the woman doing my nails appeared to be grossed out, stood up, left, and had someone else finish the pedicure. Now, more than 3 hours later (yes it took that long to receive a gel mani, and a regular pedi), I'm leaving more self conscious about my feet, upset, and nearly $100 poorer. No tip was provided for their rudeness I went to have a nice, relaxing experience, and instead was treated unkindly. Never again will I go to this salon, simply because of the service. read more

Awesome nail spot in Astoria! Extremely clean and immaculately maintained on the inside which is a huge plus and honestly a rare find in this particular area of Astoria. It's a little on the pricy side however I feel it's worth it because the service and experience are amazing. Your standard mani/pedi is treated as a spa experience and the staff are extremely friendly and talented! They also have a great selection of nail polish and the space is fairly large so you almost never have to wait long to be helped. We didn't plan to get pedicures - but after a long day of walking in the cold - we passed by and it called us in. Only $20 for pedi - okaaay! We got more than the usual basic ordinary so it felt awesome. Really nice massage and lotion with heat on the feet. They ended it with wax on the heel - never had that before - nice touch mmhmm The two ladies that did our feet were SUPER sweet and were dealing with our cracking up bc Tank is ticklish with her feet. They were so friendly and we had a lot of fun. The massage chairs were of course nice too after that day of walking and walking and walking. She took her time and was very gebtle. Our pedicure experience was amazing. The store was beautiful, clean, relaxing and the staff was very friendly and professional. Our new goto spot! Very disappointed in my last experience. Will not return. Was quoted a 20 minute wait for a mani pedi (ok fine, there's no one there, but maybe they were all full 20 minutes after opening?) After 20 minutes, I was parked in a pedi station and the little tub filled with hot water. I then waited so long for a nail tech that the water got cold. After being at the salon for an hour, there was still no polish on my toes. I was upsold to a spa pedicure that involved a massage, which just plain hurt as she kept focusing on the connective tissue between my shins and calves. Before the mani, she asked me to fill out a survey which I politely declined. I paid before the mani and left over 20% (because everyone has tough days); Irene (the nail tech) was apparently so offended by my declining to fill out the survey that she had the woman working the front desk come over to do my nails. Irene then proceeded to take a walk in client and not finish me. I asked if everything was fine and was told that I should make an appointment if I didn't want things to take a long time. TL:DR the mani was rushed and chipped all over in two days. Wont go back. read more

I had a very bad experience in this nail salon. This was my first time getting my nails done in Nail Bliss and I was very excited about it. The place looks very chic, clean and cute. I got a free massage which was great. I wanted to get a new pair of gel acrylic. Since I wanted to have a new set of acrylics, it's obvious that I wanted my old ones to be soaked off. The person who was in charge of doing my nails, did not have it. Throughout the whole process of soaking them off, she was giving me weird and unfriendly looks. She was also not gentle at all. I tried to ignore it with hope that I still can have a good experience. After 45 minuets of soaking my old acrylics off, she proceeded to work on a new set. While working on my nails, she cut me twice and didn't even apologize for it. The nails came out to look very nice but after ONE week a lot of my acrylics started popping off!! For $70 I do expect my nails to last at least 3 weeks not 7 days. The place should work on the quality of their work and their customer service. When I go to get my nails done, I want to relax and have a pleasant experience and unfortunately this wasn't one of them. I'm very disappointed and I'm not planning to return to that place. P.S. While getting my nails done the owner of the place and the a massage therapist got into an argument because one of the customers complained he (massage therapist) was being rude to her. The owner and the worker started to have a heated conversation next to all the customers but after few seconds they headed to a separate room. After few minutes the massage therapist came to the lady which was in charge of my nails and they started to gossip about the owner. Space is super nice, but it's run very poorly. I'm not sure why I bother asking if there's a wait. There always is and they always lie. They set me up at a pedi station and just left me there sitting with the water running. Three different people came to my chair to adjust something or other but not to start the pedi. The wait was so long that the water got cold. It has definitely gotten worse and worse every time I return and their prices only go up. Best nail shop in Astoria/LIC, I've been to almost all of them... Believe me (Trump voice lol) The place is extremely sanitary which is of the utmost importance to me. But almost as important is the attitude of the staff. The girls here are all sweet as can be, I've had bad experiences where I was loyal to nail salons for years and treated badly, almost as if I was an imposition. From day one the ladies at Nail Bliss have not taken me for granted. Also their work speaks for itself. Very detailed and clean manicures no matter who I sit with. I came here after going to a few nail salons around the area, and I must say this is the best place! It's so relaxing, clean, and overall great service! I went in on a Monday, and was immediately seen. I got a regular pedi which cost $20, which is a STEAL. I got Tina who did an amazing job! she took her time gave my tired pups a good scrub down and I LOVE that you get wax for your heels. I also got a gel mani ($30), which Solmu did a great job. she was friendly, and she took her time as well. I cant stop looking at my nails and have gotten so many compliments. Was my go to place and was great at first. THREE STRIKES YOU'RE out! Every time I say please only cut the sides of my cuticles they NEVER listen! I got cut very badly on the top of my cuticle with no apologies. Their hours ARE WRONG online /// if you show up at 10 you will wait 20 mins for them to be done cleaning and one worker to show and tell you to wait 20 more minutes. They need to hire more workers to come in on time and the masseuse be there as well. Place is clean and appealing to the eye and you can buy a discount card but mine is going in the garbage because I'm sick of wasting my time here. read more

Friendly. Professional. Clean. They are now open again after the Covid shut down and they have a lot of Covid standards in place to ensure safety. A lot of places have drastically raised their prices after Covid but they haven't and if they did it wasn't noticeable (maybe a couple of dollars?). Came here after reading a few (very) positive reviews and couldn't be more satisfied with the quality of the service. I got a regular mani, honestly the best manicure I've gotten in NYC in a long time - not even talking about Astoria only. The price is very reasonable and even cheaper than most places ($10 for a regular mani, $30 for gel, and $20 for regular pedicure). The service is fast and great! Plus, this nail salon is SUPER clean, calm and quiet. Oh! And you also get a very good back massage while the manicurist works on your nails - the masseuse was amazing in alleviating some tight nodules I have on my neck and shoulders. This is a great new addition to the neighborhood! I have come twice and each time felt like a true escape from a busy schedule. I've had Victoria both times for a manicure and really likes her work. I came here for a pedicure and dip powder manicure. It came up as the closest nail salon to me so I decided to check it out. I made an appointment the day before and was helped within 5 minutes of arrival. The salon is very big and nicely decorated. There were plenty of pedicure chairs and manicure tables. The people that work here seemed nice. There were a lot of regular nail polish options to choose from. For my pedicure, I decided to go with regular nail polish and upgraded to the eucalyptus pedicure ($55). The pedicure was great. The person that was working on my toes did a great job. She scrubbed and massaged my feet very thoroughly and the paint job also turned out very pretty. I have been getting dip powder for my finger nails for quite a while so I decided to keep going with that. They had a very limited selection of color for the dip powder. I ended up going with my usual white light pinkish color. The same lady worked on my finger nails. I am not sure if they just don't use electric filers here or what, but the lady took off my previous powder with a regular nail file, which took forever. There were a lot of dipping in acetone (which I hate) and filing over and over again. At the end, my finger tips were so dry and had white patches from soaking in acetone. In other salons that I have been to, the take off process is super easy with one time of wrapping in acetone and then filed off with an electric filer. She then proceeded to the steps of a regular manicure and then dipping my nails in the powder. They did not use any base powder and did three coats of the color. I was told by my previous manicurist that if the base powder is not used, your nails would get stained from the color. I got over it, but after the three coats, the lady did not file the powder down to make it more smooth and thin. I ended up with extra thick finger nails with some powder on my cuticles that are going to look uneven when my nails grow out. The powder also got under my nails and since they were not filed off, the top of nails do not look straight. In all, I was very annoyed because the dip powder cost $45 and turned out very sub par. I don't even know if I could blame the manicurist for the bad dip powder because she did spend a lot of time and looked to be trying her best. I just think that the salon just does not have the procedure of using electric filers as I did not see one in the salon. Overall, I will not come back here. I enjoyed the pedicure but as I want to continue with the dip powder on my finger nails, I refuse to pay $45 for a subpar job. read more

My pedicure experience is great but the acrylic nails service is horrible. The employees have no experience and they charge you way more than what you get. I was so DISAPPOINTED with my nails. They are uneven and nothing like the picture I showed her. The lady put rushed through the whole process and I know acrylic takes time. Came back after some time to get my nails done. Service has gone tremendously downhill. Still charging the same price for the mani and pedi, however no foot massage with oil is given anymore, and no paraffin on the heels. I really enjoyed having the cream and hot bag placed on the hands and feet, however they opted in to use pre-packed plastic that they stuck in their towel heater. My nail polish has already chipped less than a day later, which is not good as I'm leaving tomorrow on a trip and didn't even manage to leave with great looking nails. NAIL FUNGUS!! DO NOT GO HERE! This is the only nail salon I have been going to for almost a year. I have seen this place go down hill quickly. The management is absolutely horrendous. Some technicians are pleasant, some seem miserable working there. You are taken to a seat only to wait there for 30+ minutes. When voicing frustration to management they become curt, rude and dismissive which is completely unacceptable. I have gotten a terrible nail fungus which effected 3 toe nails from here. It has cost effective over $1,000 in treatment and meds to resolve. When I confronted the manager, she was rude and denied any wrong doing. I have seen the service here go downhill so I am not surprised that workers are not properly sterilizing the equipment. Do yourself a favor, save your money, save yourself from a headache and a nail fungus and go somewhere else. read more

I stopped going to another nail salon for this place because I had such a great experience. I'm the type that one experience ruins it all for me. Today was that day. I always make appointments because I know how busy it gets especially weekday at 5pm. Making an appointment early in the morning/afternoon should guarantee you a seat as soon as you walk in. I walked in 10 minutes early but I was willing to wait 10 minutes. I was seen at 5pm. Some lady did my pedicure and left me at the manicure table so that someone else would assist me. I waited for another person for about half an hour. To make matters worse. The person who started doing my manicure cut me so bad earlier on that everything she did after was painful. My thumb kept bleeding the rest of the manicure. THREE FREAKING HOURS LATER......my manicure and pedicure was finally done. There were clients there who came and went. I was still sitting in that chair. I brought groups of people and was loyal but if you can't even guarantee a reservation. That's it for me. Waste of time. read more

I took my little sister who is 11 yrs old and was immediately seated by the manager. I've never seen this woman before but the negative review is solely based on her. I insisted she work on my little sister first but was told someone would be with her right away. 1 full hour later and me asking two times to have someone do her nails, someone finally came and appeared to be getting ready to do her nails. She set the table and walked away. Another 30 minutes went by, and multiple more people came in, were serviced and all ready left. Finally someone came to do her nails and by this point we were ready to leave. Upon trying to cash out, I was told to wait at the counter for 5 minutes while she puttzed around looking frazzled and taking reservations for people that were coming in and getting in line behind me. Not only was she disorganized, but she had terrible customer service skills, and turned what should have been a 1 hour appointment into 3 hours because she could not properly manage her team. The manicures last a long time, and the massages (even those in the chair) are amazing. As some of the other reviews state, they are a little slower than some salons - definitely not a "pop in on your lunch break" kind of place. The last time I was there I noticed they had good prices for waxing, so I decided to try it out yesterday. What a nightmare. She seemed very unsure of what she was doing, and even went back over the same spots THREE times with more wax until I told her to stop. She then wiped the leftover wax off my inflamed skin with a hot towel! Today, there is hair left, and my skin is incredibly inflamed and burning.
