Would never recommend this salon Edit: Julia (the salon manager): I came in the night of February 5th. You are on the second floor of the building on Steinway, correct? Your salon is too unique to be confused for another. Avoiding accountability in all your negative reviews just to have them removed is a terrible business practice and just proves my point. I will add a photo of my nails to help jog your memory. I told your tech I was coming in to fix my nails so late because I was going on vacation the next day, which is why I couldn't come back to fix them. I also paid $100 WITH tip just to fix my original broken nail so why would I return again to pay so much for a terrible job? Your tech said you do hard gel all the time, but when I asked her to fix 2 nails that looked like they were lifting from underneath I was told "yes of course" just for her to leave the air under neath and not fix anything. I was also told that square nails would look better on me after years of having almond/oval. I said I didn't think so but was told it would. The nail tech who was in charge and speaking to me was Latina & the actual nail tech who did my nails never spoke a word to me as the other translated ri her. Not sure if that helps you remember. See photos. I hope you can get this sorted with your nail techs, because both the service itself and the customer service were less than satisfactory

Stay away at all costs, unless you like having toe infections…read more I went to this salon on Friday afternoon for a regular pedicure. I was told it would be a 15 minute wait, which was pretty accurate. I chose a color and was taken to a regular pedicure chair (it doesn't have a massage function). The girl who did my nails was extremely rough. I get that they do a "deep clean" but she was definitely digging in way more than I've experienced at other salons. At one point, the girl asked me if I spoke Spanish. I said no, so she asked one of the women in charge to come over and translate. They asked if I was in pain. I told them not necessarily, that I know they're cleaning the nail bed, and that was that. I figured this was normal and part of their process. Like another reviewer commented, I also was not offered a drink - in fact, another woman offered me a drink (in what seemed like an after thought) as my nail tech finished my pedicure. It seemed to be out of obligation at that point as they definitely catered to their other clients (who they seemed to have a rapport with). I paid $18 plus tax (despite me paying in cash) and tipped my nail tech. However, if I had known I would get an infection, I would run the other way. Since the pedicure, my big toe on my right foot was sore. I figured it was the result of her being a little rough. However, when the pain didn't subside on Saturday, or on Sunday, I began to worry. I woke up today with an inflamed, red toenail/toe bed. I have attached a photo to this review so you can see for yourselves. It is extremely sore to the touch - it hurt even putting pants on this morning when the pant leg hit my toe - and I had to ask to wear open-toe shoes to work because the pain when putting on my regular flats was UNBEARABLE. So now I need to figure out what kind of infection this is (could be fungal, could be something else) and treat my toe on my own. I hope I don't need to go to a doctor for this, because then the pedicure will cost me a whole lot more than around the $25 I spent on it. This is unacceptable on so many levels. This is also the FIRST time I have ever gotten an infection from a nail salon. NEVER AGAIN.

I have nothing bad to say about my pedicure. im just gonna mention that i went in with ballerina's and when Lue (I believe is her name) asked me if i had slippers, i said no, and i asked if i could get some, she was like "we dont have any" so yea i had to walk barefoot in store to go sit for my sns :) Back to the sns. They have a huge variety of colors which i was exited about, i choose like 3 different colors, they had none of them which made me pretty mad and i ended up telling the girl to choose any she liked. I wanted to get some designs, she first said "oh i cant do that because that has to be done w gel" i was confused but i was like, ok do it with gel, no problem. Then she was like, i cant do it tho because i dont know how to, and the girl who does it is about to leave ( the other girl was working on acrylic nails for someone that works there! ) i was like... OK?! She started doing my nails, i was already pissed off, my nails had no shape, they all were different, I told her do them square, she didn't even used an electric nail filling, she used A BUFFER which took MAD LONG! She was going to apply the top gel coat, i just stared At her and literally asked her "ARE U SURE U ARE DONE"?! She was like yea, whats wrong? She ended up "fixing them" but still no shape at all. Without mention that the gel top coat started pealing 4 days after. Ended up paying $87 for pedi and sns // Anyway, if i could give 0 stars to this Place i would :) dont waste your time or money!!

This place is a staple in Astoria!…read more I am faithful to them and you can ask anyone that knows me. Super big shoutout to Debbie for being the ****en BEST! You can find me here every other Thursday at 615 for a fillin and pedicure. My past review speaks for itself but here I am again to remind everyone that this is the number one spot in Astoria as I have been coming here since high school; 2001. Very rarely do I have a nail break or get messed up a few days in and as always I walk in and Debbie takes care of me as she would anyone else. Other shoutouts go to Gina and Julie ... but anyone there is good. Thank you Rainbow! See you in two weeks.

The appt was confirmed on their end & I was so excited. I showed up at 5:03 PM rushing so I wasn't "late". The lady welcomed me, knew about the appt and told me to take a seat and wait a few minutes .... She was working on someone else and I was okay with waiting a couple minutes ... 15 minutes later, she asked me to soak my feet in water and was nowhere near done with the other customer .. I was like mhm ok ... after 25 minutes, I couldn't do it anymore. I started to take my feet out of the water and told her I couldn't wait any longer and that I understand things happen but to not take reservations then ... instead of apologizing, she goes "things happen, people take longer, that's how it goes".... I don't think businesses that last run in an unorganized manner ... if you're in the area - beware! Use another nail salon in Astoria! Unless you don't mind aimlessly waiting ..

I had a regular polish manicure here over a month ago, and my nails are still visibly damaged…read more The technician over-buffed my natural nails, which caused: * Permanent-looking dents and uneven texture * Staining exactly where the polish was applied * Overall thinning and weakness of my nails This should never happen with a regular manicure. Proper technique does not require aggressive buffing, and the damage is clearly due to poor prep, not my nail health. I've had regular manicures for years and never experienced this kind of damage. My nails are now taking months to grow out and recover. I would not recommend this place, especially if you care about the long-term health of your natural nails.

The place was busy but not packed, and I was able to get in for a spa pedicure. I choose one that included callous removal which I desperately needed, plus a leg mask and 15 minute massage. My nail tech understood the assignment and went to town on my feet, removing all the rough parts. She gave me an excellent massage, and left my feet and legs feeling like they were brand new. They had a decent selection of colors here as well. After I dried for a while she also wrapped my feet up so that the polish wouldn't get ruined on my walk home. My only complaint is that the space was in need of a cleaning in some areas, but they were also pretty busy so it may just have been that in the rush they weren't able to clean up all the way.
