I've been having really bad luck with nail salons lately. I went here (completely out of the way after work, by the way!) to take advantage of their $25 powder gel manicure that is advertised by reviewers here on Yelp. As of 18 days ago, someone said they only charged $25 for a powder gel, so it seemed legit and recent enough. How could I go wrong? I was smart enough to call ahead, because this salon got incredibly crowded after about 1:30pm. You definitely need an appointment here, even on a Thursday! The pedicure I had was pretty thorough, so I was pleased with that. While she did the pedicure, my nails were soaking, which I really wish they wouldn't do, because my fingers were burning by the time she finished my pedicure. I then sat and dried my toes while waiting for Hanna, who apparently is the only one who does powder gel here (or so it seemed). She also answers the phone and greets customers, so she can get a bit distracted at times. There's way more color choices for color gel, but I always get the powder, so it wasn't even a second thought. All was fine - she was fairly thorough and did multiple dips for my nails. Things got hectic by this point because it was now packed in here. However, she didn't rush too much to get my nails done. That was a plus. I was a bit surprised when I was quoted $45, because I was budgeting for $40 plus tip. Unfortunately, when you use your card, they also charge tax, so the cost went up to $47 so by the time I added tip, I was up to $55, and I basically could have saved myself time, gas money, and mileage and just gone somewhere closer to home/work. It was super disappointing because I left knowing that I would likely never return here again. read more

I LOVE this nail spa. I'm new to queens and I haven't had a chance to go out and get a manicure recently, so I was hesitant where to go. I want somewhere that had the usual offerings but at reasonable prices. I walked in here for a general manicure/pedicure and this was just great! The women were nice, friendly and definitely went the extra mile. I wasn't sure about a color for my toe nails, so the women assisting me put it on her own nail. The pedicure was AMAZING. I've never had a pedicure that left my feet and legs so soft and smooth! My feet felt so soft even in my socks and my legs were soft for 2 days after. I had been to this salon years ago and had a pleasant experience and I went again this Friday. My appointment was at 9:30am and I arrived 15 minutes early because the salon says it is open at 9am. There was no one there until 9:29 on the dot at which point one of the workers jumped out of a car one minute before the appointment and unlocked the place and began working on me. She was perfectly nice, her name was Hanna. After my nails were wrapped in foil and soaked in acetone for a bit, she began cleaning up my cuticles. I've gotten manicures hundreds of times in my life and NO ONE has ever cut me this many times. I came in with no cuts or damage to my cuticles and afterward I was in tons of pain. She had to have cut me at least 8-9 times, resulting in bleeding. Every time I she did it and I winced she shook her head instead of saying I'm sorry, and put some type of antiseptic on it. After she applied the SNS powder, she drilled the nails down and drilled my skin so hard and for so long that she cut me on my middle finger on the side of my finger (picture). She seemed confused which was so ridiculous to me and then I was like ouch and said yeah you've been drilling really hard. She said oh, and then said I'm sorry for the first time I should note. At the end of my manicure, my nails were bumpy, some had only had top coat applied to half. I had to go home and put gel top coat on top of them and cure them myself. At the end of the manicure she scoffed as I paid and said my skin cut so easily and next time she won't even bother cutting my cuticles. Literally one of the worst manicures I've gotten, it was $37 which is not cheap and to walk away from it cut on 6 fingers is absurd. Don't go. read more

I stopped by before my vacation based on the yelp reviews. I had acrylic set done, and asked for oval shaped. The shape did come out nice but my nails are so thick they look unnatural. My hair is already getting caught underneath and I've had them less then 4 days now. Some of the sides are not fully painted which doesn't bother me as much as the thickness of the nails. They can get busy, but luckily I had no real wait. The girl who did my nails was fast and sweet, but I definitely won't do tips or fillings there. Had the worst experience ! As someone who is looking for a decent salon to make my weekly . I saw they were under new management and I decided to go ahead and try and I was greeted very nicely. One I got ready to get my gel mani the women was complaining under her breath about my nails being short in which they were because got very thin after years of gel and I stopped getting them done for a few month to regrow and restrengthen. I decided to be patient and just stay but in the process this women made my skin bleed from pulling the cuticle and on top it looked like a child colored my nail. DO NOT BELIEVE THE 5-STAR REVIEWS. I received a fungal infection from this salon & completely destroyed my previously healthy nails. I was looking for a new nail salon in the neighborhood and decided to check this place out because of the rave reviews that were shown here on Yelp. Yes, the prices here are far cheaper than surrounding salons--but there's a reason for that. The salon itself was filthy and NONE of the tools used by the technicians were sanitized. I came in for an SNS mani & pedi but the horrible experience starts with the woman at the front station (?) who removed my SNS nails with a Metro Card and proceeded to aggressively rip off the remaining nail. The SNS process was done sloppily and I'm unsure if legitimate products were even used. After one week my SNS began to lift. I waited it out and eventually soaked the nails off myself to reveal green spots on my nails and brittle, ridged weak nails that I have never seen in my life even after previous years of gel manicures. SNS is meant to be a healthy alternative which leads me to believe the powders used are either fake/expired. I am devastated that one trip has completely wrecked my nails and shocked that this place does business. I will obviously never be returning and warn any others who may be lured in by cheap prices to have a traumatic experience such as mine. Just went here for the first time and I have to say, I am impressed! I wasn't expecting much more than a typical Queens nail salon but I really enjoyed my experience. The staff was super friendly and the area was clean. The nail technician who did my nails was gentle and thorough. She took her time and made sure my nails were perfect. Truly horrible, I've never seen my nails destroyed like that. Went in just to take off a powder manicure. Thought that anyone could do it, shouldn't be a problem. OMG, was I wrong. The powder didn't come off from soaking (because you are supposed to buff it really well beforehand). So she took a drill and literally scraped everything off. Including deep layers of my ACTUAL NAILS. Now there are large pink spots on my nails, where flesh is right beneath a thin layer. Awful, will take months for the nails to grow off. Such people are not supposed to be touching other people's nails, it's just criminal. read more

Must say I'm upset with the amount of time and money I spent here. I am giving 2 stars because the pedicure I received here was fine. My complaint is about the tips I had put on. I had them done night of 29th so this is not even 1 full week later and already 3-4 nails are lifting. Mind you I've been sick so haven't done any real deep cleaning laundry etc with these nails. No reason this should be happening. In addition, I had jewels / gems put on 2 nails and they were done so sloppily I was embarrassed I ended up biting off the gems New Year's Day and filing down the mound of glue on my nail. I was there yesterday as a walk in. It wasn't busy and Joanna took me right away. Very friendly staff, $22 for a basic mani/pedi. Great price, Joanna only speaks Spanish but that's ok, I do too. she was very thorough, the greatest leg massage ever! The only thing it was pretty hot in there. I asked the owner to adjust the ac but she said it was at its highest. Which it was not . The staff said she keeps it low to cave on electric. Also there were flies around. I'm going this let this slide as it was very, very hot/humid out. I'll return when it's cooler out. read more

Usually gel stays on my mails for at least 2 weeks. I was so surprised bc it was not I was doing dishes bc i usually use gloves to do dishes. It is a good salon, they do an alright job, not the best however the price IS lower than most nail salons. Acrylic nails are OK. Only one lady does acrylic nails within the entire staff of the nail salon, which is a little absurd and adds extra wait time if you like acrylic nails. Sometimes she rushes, other times she takes her time. Be mindful that sometimes she leaves left over acrylic and forgets to clean it up or file down. All nail artists make mistakes, so this is normal. Other than that, the women that do manicure and pedicure are wonderful. The environment is friendly but it feels rushed. I recently came here for a pedicure and an acrylic manicure, I called in advance and made an appointment. When I got there, I got my toes done right away. As there is only one lady that does acrylic nails, I had to wait for my nails. I waited for an hour, then the lady called up another girl to get her nails done. I then asked why as I was waiting before 5 other women that came after me! She said she didn't hear me say acrylic, and that she has "other customers". This is understandable, however if I am waiting for an entire hour I should be respected and be served before the women that came before me! I had to go to 4 other nail salons to see if they had time for me, which they didn't. The fifth one did but did not have a nail polish color to match my toes! Very inconvenient experience and will NOT be coming back. Sorry but this is intolerable! I tip these women every time I go for their services, and this is how I am treated when I wait for an hour?
