I used to love this place., When they first opened they were very attentive and took their time and I was happy But as they got popular their standard dropped I always feel rushed and not as a long time customer ( there is customer loyalty.. I would give it 0 stars if i could. Me and my sister wanted to get our nails done when we were in NY. We went to the waxing salon next door with the same owner and it was pretty good so we decided to get our nails done too. We asked for short white square nails with extension because my nails are short. 1. As you can see in the picture the nails look horrible. I could have done better than that. Even a first grader could have done better than that. 2. I asked for square nails and as you can see the top of the nail is much wider than the bottoms of the nail. When I asked them to file the nail so it could be skinnier they responded by saying something along the lines of "if i file it more the nail will break, there is nothing i can do". 3. The filing job was disgusting. I don't know if they just don't know how to file or completely butchered the nail but my nails were bleeding because of how they filed it. 4. I asked them for a cream/ milky white color. They gave me straight up white. 5. When i told them i didnt like it they gave me such a hard time saying "the nails look fine" when they clearly looked disgusting. 6. They took an extremely long time with the nails, it took them 3 hrs to finish it. We were the only ones in the salon until someone else came for a pedicure and they started rushing. 7. they did not have good tips/extensions. They were really big and disgusting. I ended up telling them i am not paying $65 for this trash and either you will fix it, redo it, take it off, or i will just leave. She finally said she would take it off and i wouldn't get charged. She then cut all my nails off and left a giant bowl to soak my nails in. She left them to soak for 30 min until i decided i would take it off myself since she wasn't doing anything. I started taking the nail scraper and took it off myself. Then I left. Side notes: 1. She called me and my sister bitches for complaining. 2. She said me and my sister have ocd and the nails look perfectly fine. whatever you do DO NOT COME HERE TO GET IT DONE. There are so many others places. The prices here were also very expensive compared to others in the area. read more

This place is a (literal) hidden gem. You can't see it from street level, but if you go downstairs it's right next to the threading salon. The ladies in here were so great! My gel mani came out fantastic, best I've had in Forest Hills so far. Had a huge range of polishes and brands; OPI, Essie and CND, but also some great looking organic brands I would be interested in trying. Prices also were very reasonable. I will be back!! read more

The ladies at the threading place next door walked me over to this salon after telling me their prices. I walked in and was welcomed and told I was next. The nail technician was finishing up massaging a client's hands. After I had choosen a color another lady walked in and I was asked to wait an hour because they forgot she had an appointment. Admist she wasnt sure if it was for both mani and pedi or just a pedi. After asking the technician if I could just get the pedi the customer said she was actually going to do both although she had just made a manicure appointment. They told me that they couldn't take me unless I waited for an hour. It was an uncomfortable situation so I left. read more

This is one of the most unprofessional nail salons that I have ever experience. They attract the customers with there ad manicure and pedicure you get a free eyebrow. The do not check your temperature when you arrive. The nail salon area definitely does not take your temperature . I had an appointment and when I arrived I was told that I did not have an appointment.I made another appointment for the following and when I arrived they were close. They all lack customer service skills. I would never recommend going there. I spoke to the owner and all he said was Sorry!!! That does not cut it for especially when I had to travel . I go here because it's close, convenient and clean, but otherwise it's not really a "spa". I pay extra for a "spa" and it feels like a regular pedi! They do not use a timer when they are "messaging" your feet! So I don't know actually how long they are doing it for! The facial was supposedly "gold", but I have some speculations about that. I did like the outcome! my skin was smooth and supple. They also revived my eyebrows! Mani pedi was done right next door. I am typing this with a gel manicure that I have had for 5 weeks now that still has barely chipped! It has grown out a lot but since the bottom is clear, the grow-out isn't obvious. This place gets zero stars for service and an attitude I have never ever experienced before! Yesterday I walked into this nail place asking if I can get a manicure and a pedicure. The woman in there said yes. Too bad I did not walk out at that point. The phone rang in the place and was answered by who I assume was either the owner or manager. The other 2 useless individuals working there left me standing until the person finally got off her phone call and as I was just standing there for over 5 minutes, I asked where should I sit? I finally sit down and the girl who was working on me was cutting my nails and was continuously hurting me. As I told her this she did not even say sorry!! I could not believe this!! I looked at the owner/manager and asked her she doesn't even say sorry?? She just looked at me with a nasty look!! After cutting my nails she was hurting me filing my nails and I also said something to no avail!! After this I told the owner/manager I'm not getting a manicure and she said fine! They were also talking about me In Spanish. These 3 woman in that store are truly disgusting and being that there was no one in the shop when I walked in is an indicator of what kind of horrible place this is along with the attitudes of 3 woman who do not deserve to have jobs in a customer oriented business. The place is newly renovated, very clean, however, the nail technicians are not good. You can see their skills when applying light color nail polish. It should be even with no streaks. Both technicians I tried, I came out with uneven polish. As for the spa pedicure they sold me on, it did not feel like one. I had the most amazing experience at Sona. I had Flor for a manicure and spa pedicure. The spa pedicure was worth ever penny!! A muscle relaxing lotion to start, a textured scrub, an amazing massage with hot rocks.. amazing! I don't normally write Yelp reviews, but my dissatisfaction was so strong that I felt compelled to make an account. This is the worst experience I have ever had in a nail salon and I will definitely not be returning. This place is inefficient even for a nail salon. When I came in (with an appointment), there were 5 customers waiting and only 2 ladies working. I was not seated or anything when I came in and I had to stand in the tiny space there because the other women had placed their jackets and purses on the seats and no one wanted to move their stuff. I had to wait 40 minutes when the lady spent only about 5 minutes removing my gel. She was harsh when taking it off, causing pain, and very unprofessional - she used her nails to scrape off the gel instead of using the appropriate equipment. The way she shaped my nails was disgusting - it took her about 20 seconds total, and it was totally jarred and uneven. Please save yourself time, money, and disappointment by picking a different nail salon. read more

This was the most unprofessional salon with the worst mani/pedi I have received in a very long time. Olivia did not honor the appt I made for her. In fact she shluffed me off on a young woman who should have had training wheels & then when someone else came into the shop claiming to have an appt for the same time, Olivia tried to get me to leave & call again for another appt! And this was only the beginning. I told the young woman & Olivia that I didn't want any digging under my toe nails, because I had surgery & the first thing the manicurist did was pull out a sharp instrument to do just that. When I tried to adjust the pedi chair to get my legs more comfortable, she just kept cutting my nails while I was moving the chair back & forward. She used the cuticle clippers to scrape my cuticles off instead of cutting them. She began to put polish on my feet before putting the paper between my toes & right after putting lotion on my finger nails. The way she used the exfoliant was if she was using sandpaper on a piece of wood. When I left, my cuticles were pretty much the same on my hands & my toes were hurting, as they are now, two days later. Oh, and there was no license on the wall for this manicurist, which leads me to believe she has none. It wasn't her fault. Obviously, she hasn't been properly trained by Olivia or anyone for that matter. Nor was she supervised in the least. In a word....dreadful! read more
