I decided to try Divine Nails despite seeing several reviews mentioning customers getting infections from cuts during services. I wanted to give them a fair chance. Last week I went in for a regular manicure and it went fine, so I decided to return this week for a gel manicure with a technician named Anu. My nails are a bit short, but during the service she ended up cutting the side wall of my nail. Instead of addressing it or apologizing, I was told the cut happened because my skin is "extremely dry," which honestly felt very dismissive and a bit like I was being gaslit. I chose to continue with the service, but the gel application was very sloppy. The gel flooded over several nails and onto the skin around them. Within a short time my nails started chipping, there are visible bumps, and the overall result looks messy and poorly done. After work I went back to speak with them. I wasn't even asking for a refund -- I simply wanted someone else to redo the nails because the work was not done properly. Since I couldn't stay at that moment, I asked if I could make an appointment for the next day. They refused to schedule an appointment and just told me to "come in," which isn't realistic when you work and can't sit around a salon waiting to see if someone is available. The whole situation felt embarrassing, especially because it was discussed in front of other customers. Instead of taking responsibility for the cut, the technician continued insisting it happened because my skin was dry. Being cut during a nail service is not only painful but also unsanitary. With so many nail salons on Myrtle Avenue, I would strongly suggest going somewhere else. Based on my experience, I would not return and would not recommend this salon. read more

I went here because I wanted to treat myself. Jenny did my nails but she was a bit rough. One of my cuticles now hurt and are red. I got my eyebrows done and it was an amazing job. I also got my eyelashes and they looked great the first day but does not look as good. It's already falling out and my eyes are ITCHY. The two photos are the SAME day. The only reason I choose to get my eyelashes done here was because I never have before and if I didn't like them I only lost 35$. COVID UPDATE- I feel very comfortable here, and I'm truly not one to be wreckless. Staff is wearing masks PROPERLY and so are customers. EVERYTHING is scrubbed and sanitized between customers. Every other chair is closed and there are markings on the floor for social distancing. Plexiglass shields between customers and nail techs. Gloves being worn, and they're not latex (yay!). I'm very picky these days and I'm so glad I can get a nani/ pedi worry free. And, as always, exceptional service and absolutely beautiful results. TREAT YO SELF! read more

Okay, so I want to be in love with this place. They did a good job with my gel manicure, my nail technician was somewhat nice. The price wasn't bad either. But next time I'm there, I would hope the staff is nicer, and they have more supplies. My technician didn't have all of the products at her workstation, so we ended up alternating the top coat nail polish with the technician next to us. Which was awkward and annoying, and kind of tells me that they may be cheap on products, which is not a good thing. I am giving them a strong 3 stars with some room for improvement next time I'm there. I would want to see more professionalism and maybe a little cleaner environment. read more

I enjoy the gel manicures they do here, they last forever and the woman who did mine was so nice and was thorough, we chatted and I was enjoying my day off... then came the EYEBROWS. I was directed to a different woman to do them. I explain very clearly that I do not like round eyebrows shapes because my face is round and that only accentuates it. So I explained that I like a sharp arch and that I had let my eyebrows grow for about 2 months. I even traced the eyebrows with my finger on how I wanted the arch to be shaped . She said ok! The minute she showed me it I knew it was all wrong and I was really shocked because I was so clear and I thought that I was being a clear as possible I'm not rude and I consider myself to be clear in my explanations but this had nothing to do with that... this was just a horrible eyebrow job and I will not be coming back here for my eyebrows ever again!!! I posted a picture of my left and right eyebrows below you can tell that one looks way different than the other and just so you get an understanding of how they looked before let's just say I look like Wolverine and my husband told me why don't I treat myself to go get my eyebrows done. I went for a quick gel color change. They charged me full price, did not even cut my cuticles to make the full price worth it. On too the color had a two tone to it, due that their colors are old. I went here because of the good reviews, and anyone in Ridgewood knows how hard it is to find a good nail salon around here. First time, went for a fill-in and it was very rushed. It was done in 30 min and it was OK but a pretty sloppy job. I figured that when I came back, I would come in earlier and be taken care of better. So second time, I came mid-afternoon, and a big woman helped me, not sure of her name. I asked for a French style mani with a V design instead of the regular rounded tip - a simple design that plenty of other salons have done without a problem. Also asked for her to file my nails and make them thinner at the top, which she BUTCHERED and had to give me tips, and then still couldnt get it right. The polish job was meh, and she tore my cuticles apart. I had to sit through this for about 2 hours, just to be unsatisfied. I wanted so badly for her to do a good job, cause it seemed like she was really trying, but I suppose she was really incapable. Everyone else there seemed to be enjoying themselves though and were very friendly with the staff. I guess I just had two bad experiences with two of their worst techs. On a brighter note, I tried a place called M&M nails on Fresh Pond for my last fill in, and though it is small and dingy, the girls know what they're doing. Called on New Years Eve to see what time they closed and the only male employee said "7pm". My boyfriend and I go to get mani pedis around 5:45p. We get there and the place is empty. Score! My boyfriend loved the service he received. I felt super rushed. I did not bring flip flops because I figured my pedicure would dry in the time it took to do my gel manicure. WRONG. To keep it short, I did SNS exactly one week ago and already 7 fingernails have cracked. $30 is a good price because most places are 35+, but I do SNS all the time and my color has never cracked so quickly on pretty much every single nail. This place is the most unbelievable nail salon I have ever been to. I walk in there and everything goes fine until she starts doing my nails. I could already tell this was going to be a ruff journey because she was all over the place from the start. The point of me writing this is to tell you all not to go there. The minute she starts doing my nails she is cutting me on every finger. She even cut me so much to the point where I was bleeding. She was taking this alcohol spray and spray it on my cuts then she would take a little napkin and rub the cut super hard. Absolutely worst service I have ever had and I am leaving with more problems than I came in with. This was my very first time entering into this salon and I cannot believe how I was treated as someone who was new. Before getting the service, I specifically explained to the nail technician that I needed someone to be gentle with my feet as I have a history of ingrown's. The technician was very rough and was quickly annoyed with the process. She began to speak to the nail technician beside her about my service without my understanding. She became rougher as her annoyance increased to the point where she kept using the cuticle cutter on one spot on my toe until I started to BLEED! She was absolutely not careful and using alcohol containing products making the pain of the cut even worse. My ingrown issue was also not resolved leaving me to walk out of the salon in the worse pain. Additionally, I had asked for a poly gel nail polish remover. She put my hand in close to boiling hot acetone water. I told her it was to hot to keep my hand in there but continued to leave my hand in that solution. During the nail drill filing, my skin was caught a few times and filed my nails where it felt hot/in pain. She was so done with helping me that she let another nail technician take over. The other technician was also rough and very much in a rush. Since I was not getting a complete service, only a removal and did not get nail color on my feet nor my hands ... she rushed everything leaving my nails scratched, bending, weakened, and there was still a bit of nail polish left over. There was no nail care beyond the removal, hand lotion, etc. Needless to say, I will never be returning to this nail salon again, and I suggest to do research and go to better ones in the neighborhood. Divine Nails is like; a touch of Manhattan type service with Queens prices. They are very busy, so I would recommend a scheduled appointment, even then cant guarantee that they will be on time. When they first opened they readily took a everyone is like family approach, with a commitment to great service. In all honesty now that they are really busy.....they have started to slack. Even if you have an appointment, 90% chance.....your gonna wait. I was so proud of the place I had found my special place. Me and my mom used to go here often. Mostly because it's so close to our house. We stopped going because the manicure and pedicure just wasn't worth it- it was never consistent. I went back to get my eyebrows waxed and I noticed that they double dipped the stick into the wax- I didn't say anything because I didn't want to make a scene.
