I went to this place with full of hopes and thought it'll be my local go to place for my regularly nail salon but it turns out they didn't do well. I asked for powder and the lady didn't even use clear base, just straight went to dip which I got white. There's another lady seems very nice and wish she could have done my nail. I come here regularly to see Angelica who has been my nail lady since forever. I follow her to every nail salon she goes to because she's fantastic! She's super delicate with nails and she is always excited to try the new things I see in instagram! They're very affordable. I got an acrylic full in with gel and design on top for 50 bucks which is a steal is new York. They've also set up barriers (with slots for hands) for covid and masks are a requirement. Not only is the place dirty but my tech made 3 nails bleed & tried to hide it from me and I had to show her the blood, powder doesnt cover entire nails and my nails are misshapen. The owner just started at me when I tried to show her and just asked how I am paying. Avoid this place. Very disappointing! This was my first and last time at this salon. As you can see my nails are very misshapen and the gel poorly applied. I was charged $55 for this. She also cut me twice and kept filing at the spots that were cut so I will definitely have to watch the cuts closely to make sure there is no infection. This place is right around the corner from me. Usually, I get SNS with tips whenever I get my nails done so I came here for it; however, I was disappointed with how my nails came out. While the ladies working here are sweet - my nails came out sloppy. The edges of my fingernails were not painted and my thumb chipped as soon as I walked out of the salon. My SNS nails were also not smooth instead very bumpy. I also want to add that I got cut several times as the nail technician was very rough cutting my cuticles. The people who work at the salon are very friendly. They have a dog but he seems very gentle and tends to keep to himself- but just wanted to note that in case that is a determining factor for whoever is reading this. The salon also smelled mildly weird but I couldn't put a name on the scent.. it was making me nauseous though. I came to this salon because the two other salons I tried to go to did not do fills. But I arrived and they said they do and it was a 20 min wait. So I went to get a fill. I have acrylics on so I was expecting an acrylic fill but I think they gave me sns fill? Which doesn't really matter either way to me but it was unexpected. It was $45 before tip. The woman who did my nails nearly hurt me (burn from file) a couple times and I feel like she filed the nails a ton. I don't really know if that was necessary but... she also nicked my skin a few times so I left with some small cuts on my cuticles. I also feel that the edges of my nails are a little messy and I wish she would have cleaned them up more. The shape of my nail is pretty wonky as well. I had an existing manicure with almond shape nails and they were perfect but she continued to file them down and made them uneven in the process. Verdict is If I can find a better salon I won't come back to this one but it's ok for a backup if needed. Not the worst I had but definitely not the best. read more

When I arrived staff were nice however the design I asked for ended up look really bad. I asked for a refill with black French nails however the art work came out really bad. The filling hurt when she used the machine and it felt like stung my nail. When she was removing my cuticles she ended up cutting some of the real tissue. When it came the art it was done by a guy who works there. He ended up flooding the cuticle with the gel and he did not add more coating to the nails so they look sheer. I asked for a acrylic set and it turned out like nothing on the picture. I tried to change it up and all I heard was huffs and puffs from the lady. She cut me more than once my cuticles are irritated and the price changed from what I had expected. They are not even straight. The reason why I gave 3 starts is because the set came out like a 7/10 and the last time I came I didn't have a problem since it was a regular manicure it came out after a few days but whatever. I don't think they have the experience to do the art work for quality nails. Let's see how long these stay. I might not visit again depending on how long they stay. read more

We called to set an appointment for three people about three weeks ago for Friday morning and thank goodness we did. This place sure is packed at 9 in the morning; do people not work or something?! I can immediately tell that most customers here are loyal customers for many years. Anyway, so we picked our colors and they immediately went down to business. I had Lola who did a wonderful job with my pedicure ($14) and my first set of French UV gel nails ($50). She was quick and efficient, without making me feel like I was getting rushed out at all. Everything took a little less than an hour and a half. She even gave me a mini massage of both the hands and the feet. I highly recommend Lola all around. She is not much of a talker, but she is great at what she does. They have massaging chairs for when you get a pedicure which is a nice touch, but I found it uncomfortable so I just turned it off. Sylvia, who did my mother's mani and pedi, did a good job as well. If you get a regular mani and pedi, it costs $20. The only reason I did subtract one star is because a younger Asian lady with long hair did my sister's mani and pedi, and cut her at one point as well as broke two of her nails. Also, their nail tools do not come out of plastic wraps so I honestly cannot vouch for the cleanliness but I've never had a problem in terms of infection so I guess that's a good thing. But at least everything looks clean with the naked eye. Prices are very reasonable. I would definitely come back. read more

Decided to pamper myself a little today, and considering that I hadn't had a professional Mani and pedi, in about 30 years, I went straight to YELP, and checked the reviews on quite a few nail salons, and decided to check out Polished. I walked in and was immediately greeted by Tracy, after I chose my nail color, she took me right back to her station and began her magic!!! She was very gentle and precise in cutting my nails and cleaning up my cuticles. By the time Tracy finished my pedi, I felt like I had a new set of feet ... they felt and looked amazing. Only once I was unable to be seated for a pedicure when I walked in. If you are looking for an interior like City Nail & Skin Care your not going to get that here, but the place is clean and in the end that's all that matters. Okay, okay so I've been trying out all the nail salons in Sunnyside and I thought I had found my favorite. That was until I came here. I have to say that they have exceeded my expectations. It wasn't crazy busy on a Sunday night, but I've seen it get really busy. Reason why I never tried it out. I'll try setting up an appointment next time around. This is about my 5th time coming here. I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 because of MANDY! It is the 2nd time she gives me a mani and CUTS ME! She is so rough not just on my cuticles but also while terribly filing my nails. She also gets the gel top coat all over my fingers! Mandy gives by far the most painful manicures. She's the older chubby lady with short hair and glasses (the owner). I've seen customers come in and reject her. I now see why. Finally, the price is right and the clean tools are a plus. Update: This place isn't as great as I thought it would be. Yes, it's still the cheapest around but you definitely compensate for the low price with low quality. Their manicures chip in about 2 days and their service is slowly crumbling. Don't get me wrong, these ladies are all very nice but when you're sitting with them, they don't just focus on your nails. They'll get up a few times to greet the incoming customers or to answer the phone. I do understand that they need to do that to keep the business running but it's pretty annoying to be the customer sitting down at the table while the nail technician gets up 4-6 times. Also, I always feel like they rush through their manis and pedis, especially if it's a busy day. Yes it's busy, but don't do a crappy job! There has been multiple times when they have cut my skin and painted my skin - I could've done a better job myself! I still won't give this place up but I will go only go to the sisters Ofelia and Sylvia or Lola. I walked over to this place on a Tues evening after reading the previous reviews and found out that, for the most part, the yelps were accurate. The staff is friendly, the service isn't bad, and the prices are very wallet-friendly. I'm not sure how clean the place is but I wasn't skeeved by how it looked. I also appreciated how they checked their storage supply and found OPI nail polish in the color that I wanted when I couldn't find it on the display shelves. I got the $17 mani-pedi, which is the cheapest I've seen yet. My pedi came out pretty well but my mani was a bit uneven-looking around the cuticles. This is not so great, especially when you get a dark color. It's definitely a great deal for pedicures. I may try to get another manicure - after all, it's really cheap - with a different lady or with a lighter polish and see how it comes out. read more

Just called them now to see if I can make an appointment tonight after work since they close at 9:30 (I get off at 7pm). The phone call was only 1 min and the lady hung up on me!! This is my absolute favorite nail salon. I have been a customer here for about a year. I just moved to sunnyside but have been coming to this salon from Jackson heights since last year. I love it so much that I refuse to go get my nails done anywhere else. They never disappoint me. I had Kathy as my first technician and she is just so amazing. She takes her time and really focuses on what she's doing.. She seems like a perfectionist, which is exactly what I look for in a technician. However, the nail salon is always so busy and sometimes she isn't available. At this point, I've had my nails done from almost all the technicians (both male and female). They're all amazing!!! -prices are so affordable, especially with the awesome service they provide. $20 for mani and pedi. I always do a gel mani, which lasts me 3-4 weeks! The salon was dirty, staff was eating while they did peoples' nails (health code violation!), and the guy that was doing my manicure had long nails with dirt caked under them. Frist of all, I was taken care of right away even though it was a gorgeous Saturday afternoon and the Salon was full. I was serviced by Kathy a lovely girl that massage my feet. My intention was just to do a pedicure, but she did such a nice job with the Pedi that I decided to to a Mani as well. The whole thing took about 1 1/2 now that is a job well done. So I've lived in Woodside for 6 years and was really sad when my nail lady, Vivi Nail Salon closed. I've been struggling to find a decent place and someone recommended this place. I got a pedicure and a gel manicure. My manicure was the SLOPPIEST manicure I have ever gotten. First time at Sunnyside nails meanwhile I've lived in a 2 second radius for about 3 years but haven't had the courage to go. Today I went in because after just getting a fill at my normal spot about a week ago, my pink nail broke across in the middle a day or two ago and was desperate to fix it so I originally went for a fix but ended up changing polish because they didn't have the original color I walked in with. Not sure who did my nails she seemed in charge but she did a really nice job she evened out my already growing out Acrylic, made my pinky look good as new, and did a beautiful paint job super neat and only 8$.
