The nail tech was in such a rush, you'd think she's competing against some deadline. She did the manicure fast and furious, cutting a few of my cuticles too close that it not only hurt but drew blood. I can understand it's a hazard of the job and a finger might get that nick but how do you do that to a few fingers? And then when she applied nail polish remover to clean the nails again, it burned on those cuticles. She acted like she didn't see me blowing on my cuticles to stop the burning. The store didn't have any waiting customers so I genuinely don't understand why she rushed the whole process. A manicure is supposed to be an enjoyable experience, not a rushed, painful one. I'm still dealing with the pain on my cuticles, and trying to let it heal properly. The manicure is decent but the hurt fingers aren't worth a manicure. I went to this place for a last minute gel, manicure, and pedicure, which was being promoted as $60 when I went to pay, the lady tried to charge me almost 70. I'm pretty sure the materials they used to do my pedicure manicure were not sterilized because she put them right back in the pack in and put them in her drawer. She used the towel that was supposed to be to clean my feet to clean her arms and then proceeded to clean my feet .They did not prep the nail for manicures. They were rough. They were rushing. If you're totally masochistic and like someone clawing you with her own nails while simultaneously buzzsawing your tender cuticle line then Coco is your girl! It got so bad I made her stop and put the "torture device" down. Denise picked up where she left off and I had no pain. I believe Coco was holding the tool at a totally wrong angle. There was an obvious miscommunication about length and shape but at that point I just wanted to leave with painted nails. My nails look like shit and the whole ordeal took 1 hour and 40 mins. There are many nail salons in the area and I do NOT recommend this place. The technician I had was extremely rude and rushed. When I asked her to clean and trim my cuticles before applying the powder she ignored my request and told me "not to worry" with a major attitude. After seeing the result of the first hand with messy edges and large gaps of exposed nail between the powder and cuticle I made the same request. At this point she calls me annoying in mandarin among other things to the other technicians. There were other issues I overlooked before this because it was near closing time but it's incredibly unprofessional to disrespect customers in front of them. I've been to la queen before and had a great experience with coco. This time around a lady with very short hair like a boys cut did my nails and they look worse than a 16 year old painting them. The nail polish came off from the nail on to my skin and I had to clean it up when I got home. Nails also weren't filed smoothly. Will not be back since it's a hit or miss. read more

Denise is the most talented and detailed nail technician I've met! I've been doing stiletto shaped acrylic nails for about 10+ years and no one has ever been so precise with designs and this stiletto shape as her. Everyone on her team is so kind and welcoming. I've come here many times and always LOVED my nails. Unfortunately, yesterday I went in an had a different experience. I went in to get my birthday nails and left in tears. I was told I couldn't get them long even tho I've gotten them long many times. I had to show a picture and tell her I got them done before that long for her to believe me. Then when it came to the design I was so disappointed. She took out a diamond which I loved, but then it was placed not centered and when I brought it to her attention she swore it was centered. When I asked for other design elements it was met with annoyance. I left after paying $97 ($67 for the nails and somehow three nails of design cost $30 more). Money was not a problem for me as it was for my birthday but I do not feel like I got my money's worth. Then when I left I got to the car and looked at my nails and saw bumps all over all of them. I came back in and she kindly redid the top coat and she did apologize but overall I was so unhappy. I saw this new salon on my way home from work and I told myself I need to try it. So glad I did. I called on Monday afternoon and I was able to set an appointment to be seen right away. It was good timing because that's when their evening rush started. There were 4 nail technicians and lots of customers but it did not affect their level of service. Since it was busy I had two technicians and they were both very good. They took their time and listened to the what I wanted. I also loved that they had the one time use tools. The only thing I disliked was that they are were trying to cross sell their services. I didn't realize I accepted an additional service for callous removal until it was time to pay. I thought it was part of the pedicure. But hey this is how they can make more money and next time when I return I know better. read more

I decided to give this new nail salon a chance since it's in the neighborhood. Inside is beautiful with a large variety of nail polishes. I got a powder gel manicure from Vivana. Don't trust their instagram photos because The pictures doesn't match the actual service they provide. The lady named coco did my nails which was horrible. She applied the acrylic too thick and when i questioned her about it, she said its so that the nails don't break easily. Tf.. I have gotten my nails at other salons and it was never this thick. Also, she didn't cut/file my nails or my cuticles. So now my nails are peeking out the acrylics. Even the shape of the nails are "fanned" out instead of straight. I understand language can be a barrier but i provided pictures. So she must be blind. I don't understand why she would take my appointment if she's going to rush through my manicure. I paid $86 for this garbage and once I left the store, I saw in daylight that there was bubbles formed on my nails because of the cheap polish and I had to go back inside and she told me it's because she put the top coat twice...I don't get it.. So she tried to fix it by removing the top coat with the drill and that made some of the pink polish fade but I was just done at that point. She also had another client in the pedicure chair who was waiting more than 30 mins so I felt bad for that person and left. Avoid this place at all costs!! read more

I've been to La Queen before and haven't had an issue, but this most recent time is the reason why I won't be returning.. My boyfriend suggested I get a mani/pedi/massage that day (because he ended up proposing that night). Unfortunately I didn't catch the name of the employee that worked on me, so I can't tell you who specifically to avoid. I should have known it wasn't going to be great when the water was lukewarm (whatever I'm not picky-I'll survive in lukewarm water-better than scalding hot) and when she used the file on my heel to get the dead/hard skin off and smooth, it looked rougher than before I came in (how does that happen?). She was very rough the whole time, she cut the cuticles so deep during the pedicures I kept pulling my leg back reflexively. She asked "did that hurt?" and I said "yes" and then she would do it again. Rough during the massage too (which was ok for me personally on the arch and heel of my feet, but not on the webbing between the toes-that's very tender!). Then we sit down for my manicure and it got worse. Still very rough again and she continued to cut off more than my cuticles. I was still pulling back and saying "ow!" and she kept pulling my hands back and doing it again. She destroyed the cuticles on my left ring finger, left thumb, and right middle fingers to the point where she had to get liquid antiseptic and sit with cotton pads on those fingers to stop the bleeding for a full 5 mins. I now have an infection in those fingers, especially my right middle finger I imagine the whole reason my boyfriend wanted me to get a manicure was so it would look great in photos with my engagement ring but unfortunately it looks like a child went in, sliced me up a little, slapped on some color and put a sticker on top (which I paid $10 extra dollars for 1 butterfly sticker on each ring finger and that's how it turned out (see photo)). And the cherry on top is that the nails have already chipped significantly and it's only been 3 days since I got them done. I should have just saved the money and done it myself. I'm only giving the 2 stars because I haven't had many issues before this time, but this is unacceptable and should never happen to anyone. read more

I made an appointment for 2:30 and got taken in at 3:15 , i didn't mind until i saw the work that was being done on my nails. I wish i was kidding but i at LEAST got cut 10 times by the technician and burned at least 3. None the less , my nails are frail and about to snap off of how thin they are. I showed her a reference picture various times and they still came out like this. To top it all off the technician complained in front of everyone that my tip was too small, considering i didn't want to tip her at all. My nails were clean as I frequently get service without color. Salon was not busy at all. The technician was aggressive and kept showing constant anger and attitude. Am very disappointed in this place the past 2 times I've gone to get my nails done they have done a terrible job. This last time did it for me and I will never go back. The lady was doing my nails I told her that she filled my nails uneven, she laughed and filled them again. Then when she was painting my nails she did a horrible job I had to tell her again that she painted my nails really bad. She ended up fixing them but the fact that she's not paying attention and that her station is dirty as hell. I will never go back. I also noticed that if they soak your nails with acetone they refuse it. They have a bottle begin the desk that they recycle the acetone and reuse which is disgusting. read more
