Decided to come here with a friend as it was close by my apartment and it looks very clean and spacious. We got the pedi and it has been LONG overdue as well as the summer has arrived! We went with a pedi spa which includes getting your toes painted, treatment for your feet and legs! The massage to the legs are amazing! The person that did mine was great and so nice. Honest, I wasn't there for the polish just the feet relaxation and pamper. And it deff exceeded my expectations. Which was the reason my friend and I went a second time (just a few days ago). I've gone here twice since moving to the area and I LOVE the powder, sns dip nails ! The nail tech takes her time, every time and makes sure I don't leave before my hands are immaculate . Also, there is a man who gives me a 10 min massage and every time he gets every knot out of my back. I neeeeed to go back solely for a massage, it is so relaxing and calming. Would recommend for sure, as it is an actual quality massage unlike other places. I love coming here to do my nails. This is one of my happy places. I come here to relax and I'm happy with how clean they are. The ambiance super relaxing. I usually get regular mani and pedi, sometimes I get gel or extra spa treatments. I get massages sometimes which are pretty good even if it's just the 20 min in the chair lol. Great experience. We both popped in for pedicures and they were very accommodating. The space is very clean and meticulous when it came to being COVID-conscious. The pedicure stations were immaculate, and throughout our whole time there both technicians were asking our comfort level, what we wanted done, etc. They were personable and really focused on our relaxation and well-being. I went to pick out a color and whoever was touching the nail polish before me did not screw the cap back on. So when I picked up the nail polish I walked to get my manicure the bottle slipped out from under the cap and smashed on the floor covering me in Hot Pink nail polish! All over my legs and new white sneakers, my arms and dress I was wearing. They didn't ask if I was ok the worried more about the polish on the floor. They didn't offer me anything for my sneakers, free manicure nothing just gave me some paper towels and nail polish remover and went to clean the floor. The women then processed to ask if I still wanted an manicure with no regard to what happened and the 20 minutes it took to get the nail polish off my body and dress. Probably the best SNS powder gel manicure I've ever gotten. I've never seen someone pay attention to small details and make sure that the manicure was perfect. Working in the hospitality industry it's important to have nice nails, and finding a nail salon that does a good job to make sure my nails can withstand all of the handy work is hard to come by. This was my first time at Nail Bliss and I was beyond impressed. Their procedures for safety during COVID are incredible. But I got a lady named Gigi, and I ended up almost crying in the salon. She cut my whole toe nail (just take a look) and she had the audacity to say "what? You're going to look so pretty." If that was their best lady I wonder how their worst one is... The only thing they are good at doing is giving massages and rubbing money off of you. I've been coming here fairly regularly for 2 years and the level of service has consistently gone down while prices have been raised twice. There used to be some really good technicians and they were worth the time & cost but the majority of them have left. They also do this weird thing where the tech will hand you a review card and stares at you while you fill it out. I'm sure that makes for honest reviews... I went on Monday night for a normal manicure. The tech (who I think was new) was filling MY SKIN. It got to the point where the skin around my nails was raw and tender the next day. She also applied super heavy & uneven coats. My manicure was already chipped by the next morning. I'm currently on day 2 and need to completely remove because it looks terrible. I had really hoped this place would get better again but looking for a new salon. read more

So happy my friend introduced me to this place! The space is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful fixtures, updated pedicure chairs with USB charging capabilities and beautiful glass bowls to soak your tired toes in. The manicure chairs have built in UV lamps right at your lap- making gel manicures seamless (who hates when they bring out the bulky lamps and you have to stretch over and above etc.) Tons of seats ( I counted 10+ pedi chairs and 9+ manis but I can be off) The experience itself was amazing. I see that they are going above and beyond to create a clean and calming atmosphere. Starting from the liner they place on the pedicure sink bowl - ensuring your feet never touch where someone else's had. Then, they bring all of the wet supplies (lotions, scrubs) out in bowls...again ensuring that the nozzle or tip of a lotion bottle isn't rubbed against someone else's leg...and then yours. The cuticle oil is in the form of capsules, each person gets there own small two oil filled capsules and then it is discarded. The file for buffing the bottom of your foot is actually a disposable sticker. EVERYONE gets there very own file, never used before and thrown out. I have never seen that before. All of this of course comes at a slightly higher price - but to me well worth it. Absolutely loved the hot water bag they place on your back while getting your manicure...just gives the experience so much more. Every one was asking how I was feeling, if I wanted tea, was the temperature OK?. Truly a relaxing experience. Hopefully the salon keeps up the great work and becomes one of Astorias staples....err or maybe not so I never have to wait to get my nails done . read more

I came in for French tips. Was charged $53 and my nails looked disgusting. Upon leaving I showed my nail tech how horrible my nails looked and told her I wanted them fixed. My nails had air bubbles all over. She told me she could not fix them And I would have to come back. I went back a second time and was suggested to do dip powder because they were out of nails for French tips. Once again my nails looked TERRIBLE. I went to Nail Bliss randomly to get a powder manicure on my natural nails, and despite all of the negative reviews, I personally had a good experience. I walked in with my friend to look at the price list and was greeted by a lady (don't know if it was the manager or owner), who complimented my nails and answered my questions about pricing. She seated me right away and allowed my friend to sit next to me even though he was just there to keep me company. The nail tech was really nice and patient, because it took me a long time to pick a color and my friend and I were chatting it up the whole time she was doing my nails. I told her two of my nails were breaking at the edges and she put more nail glue on and was careful with them when buffing. I never get my cuticles cut, so I can't relate to anyone's complaints in regards to that. Its healthier for your nails & safer just to get them pushed back, people! The tech did 4-5 coats of the color powder, so my nails came out really nice and thicc. It's been a whole month and the powder has only cracked on one nail and that's because I bent it in half by accident. One of the nails that was already broken broke off all the way too, but it was my own fault and I just glued that baby right back on LOL I am considering going back for a fill, but with all the negative reviews, I would only let this same nail tech do my nails. She was a latinx lady, I wish I remembered her name! I also got a regular pedicure done on the same day. Even though they pulled all the bells and whistles with the keratin, parafin, scrub, and massage, they switched the ladies on me in the middle of it, which is a pet peeve of mine. I didn't get my toenails cut, just filed, so again, I can't say anything to negate others' complaints of being cut or having their nails cracked. Despite switching techs, my toes came out nice and the polish is still holding up a month later with minimal chipping. Oh they also let my friend sit in and use the massage chair next to me, which was nice! At first I thought the experience was great. However, I soon realized why this place has such bad reviews on yelp. I went in for a fill and a pedicure. The place was clean and sanitary. The woman doing my fill informed me that my nails were lifting and I'd need a new set. I was thankful because I don't want any funky stuff growing. She did a dip nail for me since I wanted to try it. At first it was amazing!! Less than 48 hours later 3 of my nails were chipped and lifting!!! I went in to get them fixed around 6:30 pm but was informed they were full and couldn't accommodate me. Ok fine, not a big deal even though I don't live in the area, it happens. I was told to come back the next day after 3 pm and that repairs cannot have appointments. I call the next day around 6 pm and told again that they can't accommodate me because they are full. She told me again to come in the next day and I STILL couldn't make an appointment. At this point I've given up and frustrated because I live in Brooklyn but work in Astoria. My nails are so messed up and they are not willing to help repair the shitty job. Further - Don't get attached to your nail techs. They don't have a full time staff and pull from their other salons. I was told I couldn't come in before 11 am one day because they didn't have a nail tech. How do you have a nail salon but not a nail tech?!?! Went in for a manicure and was upsold on the $22 paraffin wax. The nail tech barely trimmed my cuticles after I asked her to please cut them and not just push them back. They were unevenly trimmed or not at all. She kept pushing my skin down or rubbing it with a towel instead of actually trimming my cuticles or calluses around my super dry fingers. The paint job was awful - thick, uneven, bubbles, painted on my unevenly trimmed cuticles, and not even painted on the entire nail. She also painted the clear base sloppily. (Found some dried above my nails the next day and watched her haphazardly paint it on) and she had shakey hands. The paraffin wax was unhygienic - they bring over the vat of melted paraffin wax and stick your entire hand in vat and then wrap your hand in plastic wrap and then put your hands in an electric mittens. How is putting my hand in a vat of paraffin wax that you use for multiple customers sanitary for the next customer ? Needless to say, I wasn't happy. My nail tech also hovered over me like a helicopter mom while I was trying to choose my nail polish color. Would not recommend at all. read more
