Hopefully this is my new nail spot! Their prices are a bit higher ($32 for shellac manicure) but I am starting to support the theory when it comes to nail salons that "you get what you pay for." They carry the "bar" theme throughout the space which I thought was cool. The nail colors are in in a decorative flip book (almost like a cocktail menu) and for nail appointments you sit at a bar top with barstool style chairs, which weren't the must comfortable so that was a bummer. Plus they offer cocktails at a reasonable price - $3.50 for a glass of wine. The person who did my nails had very high attention to detail - made sure polish was evenly distributed and coated the nails well. My cuticles also looked great! I wish the massage was a bit longer, but I plan to come back! read more

Wow!! I'm blown away honestly. I had my first nail appointment here yesterday and it was awesome. I got a full set with shellac for $47 before tip. Paul worked on my nails and did absolutely amazing! He paid attention to detail and made sure I was satisfied before moving on. The spa smelled nice and wasn't consumed by chemical smells like another spa I had gone to. My only complaint was that my back started hurting from not being able to relax in the chair (it couldnt get any closer to the table so I could sit back) and also when I was done Paul was on the phone while checking me out and kinda made me feel unappreciated as a customer. He printed out my receipt and walked away to his next client. After I filled out the receipt he poked his head around the corner and said I could leave it on the counter and to have a nice day. I have been coming to Vivian for my nails for almost 2 years. The first time I had contact with her was 2 years ago when I was in town for a wedding. I think she did a great job! 6 months down the road I moved to Omaha and I returned to get my nails done here. Well Vivian remembered me, not my name but my story. Her work is outstanding, she pays attention to detail, does a great job and is very pleasant. Shellac is $32 and I think it is extremely reasonable. I just moved to Texas where they charge up to $55 for shellac. She takes easily a full hour on my nails, so great results and they last 3 weeks or more. Now that I'm moving out of town I will deeply miss her. Pedís are very good too and other ladies of the staff take care of me. I like the pedis and you have a menu with basic $27, $40 and $55. All services are great. I personally like the $40, again a full hour with nice stone massage and scrubbing of your legs. Any of the ladies are very good. Have been coming here for the last year or so. Enjoyed their service until now. Went there on Thursday with my daughter. I received a pedi, she received powdered dip. Within 4 days, 6 nails FELL OFF. No damage to nails, they just fell off. She called them and came back in to get them fixed. THE OWNER ACCUSED HER OF RIPPING 6 OF THE NAILS OFF!!!!! Um, excuse me? WTHELL would she rip off 6 nails? I typically tip well too! I will NO LONGER GO HERE. What an a$$ to accuse her of that. Seriously. And she drove in from Fremont to receive this treatment. SMH.......pathetic. Nail Bar is AMAZING!!! I had gone to different nail salons throughout Omaha and just never got the right vibe. The first time I came to Nail Bar I got a pedicure and acrylic fill with shellac. The pedicure was super relaxing and the nail technician took their time. Paul did my acrylic fill and his attention to detail is like no other. He made sure I was completely satisfied with my nails before I left. I appreciated this because at most other salons I felt like they tried to get me in and out as quick as possible even if that meant bad quality. Paul takes so much pride in his work and ensures you are happy with the end result. I have gone back several times after my initial visit and everyone at the salon is so friendly and inviting, which I love. I even had Paul take off my acrylic nails and go back to my natural nails. After bouncing around to a couple different nail salons in the area I decided to stop in Nail Bar on a Friday afternoon for a shellac manicure. That was over 3 months ago and I will never go anywhere else. This salon is clean, spacious and well maintained. The only noise you will hear is the music playing through the speakers and chatter from the customers. I have been to plenty of salons with children running around and screaming and it's not relaxing at all. They have a large selection of standard polish, gel polish and powders. They also have a variety of glitters and rhinestones for nail art. The prices are a little higher than other salons in the area but trust me it's worth every penny. All the employees take great pride in their work and I never feel rushed. Vivian is amazing when it comes to manicures! I have never had anyone spend as much time as as she does cleaning up my cuticles and applying gel polish with great precision. She also cleans up with a small brush and acetone before curing each layer of polish. This results in a clean and long lasting manicure. I am able to stretch my manicures up to 3 weeks. Most importantly, the employees I've encountered are friendly and polite. They hold a good conversation and make you feel like a valued customer. I cannot recommend this salon enough! My first time here, had a very nice experience. I stopped by 3pm on a Thursday and didn't have to wait. I went with the Deluxe pedicure with Shellac for $40 (normally $55 but the owner took the $15 off and just charged me the deluxe pedicure price).They use bowl liners and the instruments come peel packed (evidence they've been autoclaved). Callous removal was terrific and they used the grater! Very nice hot stone massage and hot towels. Complimentary soda or water and menu of drinks to order. Large TV; very comfortable massage chairs. I get there today and that lady comes up to me super angry and saying I banged my nail on something and it chipped?! I literally had my nails perfect and then I came out of the shower with it chipped. I noticed how thin my dipped nails are while they are typically very thick. I don't recommend this place unless you only go to Paul. I wasn't even upset or angry about the chipped nail, I really liked them. But wow I've never had someone come up to me and be so angry about something I wasn't even angry about. They could've said that I would have to get a full set, which is what I would be fine with. So I just feel really uncomfortable going to this place and fear I'll get yelled at by an employee there. Take this review how you want it. Update: I just tried to call them to set up another appointment, but they pick up and keep hanging up on me. How unprofessional of them to do that. It happened 3 times now. Don't even waste your time and money at this place. Another update. She literally called me and said "we don't need your service, this is my shop, don't come back" wow... Awful service. It began with them saying I had an appointment for a fill instead of an acrylic manicure which I never mentioned anything about a fill over the phone. They looked upset that it wasn't a fill. The guy doing it then tried to convince me to get dip instead of acrylic but I told him I've had bad experience with it and my nails aren't long enough. He seemed upset I wasn't getting dip and was aggressive with the tools to the point of making my cuticle bleed. All my cuticles are basically destroyed and hurt! I was also telling him how in my hometown acrylics are expensive around $45 or $50 and he replied that it wasn't expensive at all and proceeded to ask how much I made an hour! He never even did the full manicure service. No hand massage and the acrylics are pretty thick. The pedicure ladies did do a good job but will not be going back. read more

My first visit here. Hard to find a nail salon open on Sunday in Omaha--I usually go somewhere else, but they don't have Sunday hours. I decided to take a chance on Nail Bar. Very nice experience. They use liners for the pedicure bowl. This adds a very nice level of sanitation. Very friendly staff. I went to this salon largely after reading the reviews on this site. I wanted a simple manicure for my wedding day; easy enough, right? First, two technicians argued - literally argued - with me and two of my bridesmaids about why we didn't want Shellac. We just didn't; end of story. They repeated over and over how the colors we picked would chip in two days without Shellac. When we asked if there was a different brand or color that would NOT chip, they had no answer. Somehow they don't say that to anyone who gets a non-Shellac pedicure...which is everyone. If they don't customers getting a non-Shellac manicure, then why offer to do it at all? I could have very easily taken my business elsewhere, and I will in the future! Throughout my natural manicure, my tech was rude. She talked about me in front of me and at one point yanked my hand back to her when I wanted to see the color after the first coat. When she "finished," I had paint everywhere on my hands and a few fingers were clearly given more coats than others. A new tech actually finished the job and was visibly angry with the original tech for causing such a mess. It was poor experience with zero customer service, and it was the last thing I needed the day before my wedding! read more

If it wasn't me being a good friend and make her laugh we would of left after getting our toes done before nails. I am a long time resident of the Omaha Community (more than 30 yrs) and I must say that today I've had the most horrible experience with an Omaha business-Nail Bar at 144th St. The Asian man, who I assume is the owner was very rude to me my entire visit. He yelled and berated me in front of customers simply because I asked him to remove leftover nail polish remover his staff left on my completed manicure. Quality is so-so at a much higher price with some serious management and attitude issues. I Have never been more publicly humiliated and uncomfortable as i was today. There was some confusion over the appointment I made. When I went in, I was told I was late, though I knew I was on time. I momentarily felt bad... (though that feeling quickly faded after the crap hit the fan) Maybe I wrote it down wrong... Whatever. I was asked if I was supposed to get a mani pedi, which again was odd, as I made my appointment for acrylics. I told her no I was supposed to get a mani...a full set of acrylics. Verbatim. I was sat down and the woman working on me proceeded to start with your run of the mill cuticle cutting, etc.... then she pulled out the shellac I chose. I told her again that I was supposed to have acrylics and my god she threw a hissy fit. She threw me mad attitude and rolled her eyes at me because I "made my appointment for a mani but now you want acrylics?" She brought out the appointment log and showed me a name that WAS NOT MINE insisting that was me. I told her no and that I was right below that person with the time I had scheduled (so i WASN'T late) and guess what?! A full set of acrylics. Shocker. Management error. She then told me I had called and rescheduled my appointment for 2... which I DID NOT DO, as I had family plans in the afternoon. I was quickly attended to by the acrylic tech, but it took everything I had not to walk out because (I assume) she kept talking crap about me in a foreign language...I know this because she'd say "2 o'clock" in English in the middle of her rant. I haven't been to get my nails done in years and this was supposed to be a little mommy getaway and treat for myself and it was a terrible experience. I can't think of many places where employees can treat patrons like that and still have a job. You should never make customers feel unwanted or talk about them in front of them...or make them feel stupid ESPECIALLY if you're at fault, not them. I will never recommend and I will never go back. First time here as I'm on the hunt for a consistent new place for my nails. The pedicure was awesome and I loved the message, even for the basic pedicure. I always get nervous with my nails (I was going for a fill with shellac) but am impressed with how Paul was able to make them look WAY better than what I had from the last place I tried. He said he would do his best in fixing them and making them look better since they were uneven, thick, and lifting and he did awesome! I got an acrylic full set and gel polish with Paul and a Royal pedicure with Ann. They were both amazing. I had been doing my own gel polish at home and my nails were thin from how I removed them, so Paul recommended dipping, but I stuck with acrylic for extra length. I do appreciate him asking questions like if my goal is to grow my nails out and get them healthy, but he was also very happy to oblige when I decided on acrylic. The Royal pedi has a great scrub, hot stone massage and lotion application which was so relaxing! The salon is clean and you can purchase a beer or glass of wine while you relax. I've only been here once for a basic pedi and a shellac mani. I was bounced back and forth between two techs the entire time. The pedi was a good basic pedicure. Nothing outstanding but nothing bad either. While I was sitting there a woman came in to complain about how her nail polish had peeled off after only one day. Staff didn't even look at her nails, but told her that this is what she paid for and that polish only lasts a day or so. After she left in a huff, the staff started talking bad about her, which was in poor taste in my opinion. My only real complaint for my mani is that the male tech trimmed my nail too much and that sucker hurt for about 3 days following the appointment. read more
