I'm only giving 1 star because of the poor girls working there who do NOT deserve this one bit, but if I could do 0 stars I would.
My best friend took me to get our nails done here for a birthday celebration. When we came in we were greeted kindly by a gentlemen and he showed us to a desk where we waited for our technicians.
There was only 1 available so my friend got hers started on first. The technician, Jazz, that we had was kind, sweet, and genuinely seemed to love doing nails, however it was her first day, so there was a learning curve with a new workplace and such, but she did her best and we enjoyed working with her.
After a about 15-20 minutes the other nail tech came over, named Jennifer and got to work on my nails. She was wonderful, speedy, and good at what she does. I enjoyed her work, and her conversation. But here's where the trouble started.
An incredibly rude customer came in demanding to be seen, as they had poor time management and needed to be at an appointment by a certain time. The on duty manager named Sam (NOT the gentlemen who kindly greeted us when we first came in) had the customer come in and sit in a pedicure chair. He then proceeded to come over to my technician Jennifer who was diligently working on my nails, and demanded she stop working on mine and go work on the rude pedicure customer. She acknowledged him, asked him to wait one second while she finished one of my nails, and she'd go over. Sam then proceeded to PULL HER CHAIR OUT while she was working to try and force her to leave right that second. Jennifer told him not to do that, and not to touch her. Sam then MAKES A POINT TO REPEATEDLY touch her on her shoulders, and push in them, in a disgusting, nonconsensual aggressive massage manner. This man then plopped down in front of me, grabbed my arm and started aggressively painting my nails, screwing up Jennifer's hard work entirely. After he had "finished" painting, they were sloppy, insanely thick, and spots on my nails were missing polish all over. My friend spoke up on my behalf and told him he needed to remove the terrible work and start over with a different color as the one I had picked was entirely different from the sample nail they had as well. He was blatantly frustrated we spoke up and kept making remarks like "See, I did a good job", when clearly, he didn't. Another employee came over to see what was going on, and Sam started speaking about us and the situation, in a clearly aggressive tone, in another language so my friend and I wouldn't know what he was saying about us. Sam then grabbed my arm and started using the electric file to take off the mountain of polish he had put on my nails, and was rude and harsh with the tools, filing harder and sanding aggressively to take out his frustration about not doing a good job (one he is clearly not there to do, or he would have handled other customers instead of being rude to the employees). My friend and I had had enough of Sam and wanted him to absolutely STOP touching me. We asked him to leave, and said we wanted Jazz to finish up my nails (we had asked her prior if she had wanted to and she said yes). Sam walks away, Jazz finished my friends nails and starts working on mine. They turned out nice for her first day there, and she was a delight to talk to. Both her and Jennifer are exceptional employees who I would revisit, but not at this salon unfortunately, soleley due to the one manager. Sam proceeded to check us out at the register 2 and a half gours after we arrived and his last words to us were "sorry, I tried to help but looks like it backfired".
My friend and I have NEVER had such a bad experience at a nail salon like we did here. And witnessing the blatant disrespect this manager had towards women, I doubt he should even he working in a place where women mostly frequent. Not only putting his hands on an employee, but to be aggressive with a customer as well is beyond me. I will NEVER go back to this business as long as that man is in there. read more
