Never eat the habashi . I thought would be the same of o Nagoya Baton Rouge , not even close . Sushi is alright , price is good

I LOVE Nagoya. I would rather drive to Hammond to eat hibachi than drive into Baton Rouge. Their hibachi beats any I've had in the Baton Rouge area. You MUST try the filet. It is the tastiest I have had from any Japanese restaurant ever. No need to smother it in sauce either. read more

Nayoga's wait staff tonight was extremely terrible. We didn't see our waitress at any point except to bring us the bill after we had finished eating. Once we had finished eating, the cleaning lady used someone's sweet tea that the has been drank out of to clean the edge of the grill, the grill itself, and the counter top where you eat. The food tonight was also unacceptable; the rice wasn't cooked all the way and the scallops tasted like they had spoiled. Before new workers came in nayoga, it was one of the best places to eat in Hammond. read more

This place reminds me of a cheap diner trying too hard to be fancy. The tint on the windows was obviously a do-it-yourself job complete with bubbles and crooked lines, the booth seats were flat, booth backs were missing buttons, and there were actually names carved into the tables. The food took forever to get to us and, for the first time ever in a Japanese restaurant, there was no salad or miso soup. The food itself was okay. I hated the tofu steak. It was fried soft tofu (huh?) with a tasteless sauce. The sushi was not the best I've ever had but also not memorable in the least. I was never offered a refill on my water so I left a little thirsty. Needless to say, I will not be dining here again. read more

I can honestly say that I won't go back. There wasn't much to choose from on the menu. And the waitress acted as if I was a child and was incapable of ordering correctly. The rolls I decided to order were odd, even though I stuck to what I knew. The only plus to this restaurant was the cheap prices, but then again you get what you pay for. The sushi here is average. Not my favorite place in Hammond for sushi. It IS, however, my preferred hibachi place. The combination of foods offered, the sauces, the soup and salad, these are all delicious. They give you a TON of fried rice and it's standard (some places you pay extra for fried rice). One Yelp reviewer complained about the salad dressing. They do use a mayo-based ginger dressing, but as a thousand Island fan, I do taste a difference. Some Japanese restaurants choose to use a creamier ginger dressing (vs. a more traditional vinegar and ground ginger and carrots style). The service overall has been adequate. Some servers are more attentive than others, and some friendlier.... my only caution is that they do seat people behind the chef when they have a very full table. This is frustrating because we are spending a lot money for the experience of hibachi. I would discourage the hostess from doing this. read more

Ate here about a week ago with my family. We ordered a few sushi rolls, soups, and a squid salad. Food was average, can't compliment but can't complain. The best thing I got was the squid salad. Can't mess that up, but the portion was so small I only got a few bites out of it sharing with my husband. Soups were pretty bland and tasteless but still edible. Sushi rolls were average. Service was subpar! We asked for some sauces when we got our food and sat around and waited for them for about 15 minutes. By the time our server finally brought them, we had eaten the majority of our meal. Our cups ran low soon after we received our food. We didn't get refills until we got our bill. And the price was outrageous. It was not worth the average food and below average service. I would be okay with Nagoya closing down and East of Italy expanding into that space. If youre looking for hibachi, go to Kirin! Its expensive as well, but way more worth it! read more

Go to Kirin. Much better food and service. My family and I stopped in here due to Kirin being closed on Sunday. Figured we'd give it a shot. Hostess was a complete snot. Very rude acted pissed she had to even do anything (which isn't much anyways.) when we got to table she threw menus down on it and walked off without saying anything. No greeting no smile or anything from her. When we left she was hiding behind the podium on her phone. Anyways we got hibachi. Rice was extremely salty. Chicken wasn't fully cooked in some parts. Chef seemed friendly enough. He definitely did things differently than most hibachi places. Gave it two stars because it wasn't terrible but I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for something more upscale. read more

Ok so I ordered a meal to go at 11:02am. I ordered hibachi (chicken). She said it would be 25 minutes I was like thats kinda long ,but I'm going to wait regardless because I've been craving hibachi for a while now. Girlllllllllllll I went to pick it up at 11:26am!! I didn't get my food till 11:44am no joke like how in the world, like why did it even take that long!!?? Ok so I was like well at least I'm eat good!!!WRONGGGG!!!!!! I got home the rice was undercook ,the chicken had no flavor, the vegetables were rubber!!! I'm just setting there looking puzzled, shocked, distraught I tried to make it better by adding hot sauce.It didn't work.lol Anyway I will not be eating there anytime soon. Second visit. Tried a different sushi and was happy both times. Snow mountain, Crunchy, Rock n Roll, and pink lady were all great to eat. We also got a side of rice. There fried rice is delicious. Only thing I didn't like is the complimentary soup. Taste like dish water. Staff is friendly and service was quick. read more

The food at this restaurant was horrible. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you want sushi, go to Kurrin, at least it is fresh. We spent $141.00, and the food was not fresh. The service is also terrible. Charged a tip like we had six adults, but it was actually three adults, two babies, and two children 10 years old. I definitely will not return. read more

The food is good but way overpriced expecially the hibachi. But when they charge 18% gratuity for a party of 6 that consists of 4 adults, 13 yr old, 5 yr old, 6 yr old an 6 month year old that's when they lose my business. Watch your bill. read more

Never was my favorite but my husband wanted to drive out to Hammond yesterday so I appeased him & we went w/our 3 kids. It was 4:00 on a Sun so the hibachi was closed but we were fine w/a reg table. There were only 5 other tables w/ppl at it but it took 10 mins to seat us. The waitress took another 10 mins to come get our drink order. She still didn't have the drinks after about 5 mins but gave us all miso soup, which she had lots of bowls of & looked like she just needed a place for them to go. We wait another 20 mins watching this chick bring food & drinks to others. Still never came to take our order. I wanted to leave, he wanted to wait a little while longer. Then she starts working on a ticket...ok so we wait more. She goes in the back & comes back out w/spray to clean a table! Really? We had sat there a total of 40 mins. My husband motioned for us to go. He asked her if he owes $$ for the soup (since we all had water). She said no & didn't seem to mind that we were leaving. There was another family behind us I think was about to leave too. Im not sure if this was the end of her shift or what but extremely discurtious. Like I said, never was that big of a fan like my husband so my feelings aren't hurt. There are too many GOOD sushi restaurants that actually want your business. read more

Will never return to any Nagoya restaurant! I have never experienced anything like this. The waiter lacked any customer skills! He looked away while we were giving our order, we had to repeat it three times, he rolled his eyes at us several times, he didn't clear our appetizer plates, walked away from us as we were speaking, set a steaming hot plate on the EDGE of the table directly in front on an infant, who immediately grabbed at it and luckily only grabbed the spicy mayo. When I brought that to his attention, he again walked away, no apology no remorse, nothing!!!! We asked for a manger, he told us he was the manger, so we just asked for another waiter. A waitress came over, informed us that he was not the manger, he was actually a new employee, who was "having a bad day" and began to tell us about his personal life! We agian asked for a manger, the waitress begged us not to tell anyone so that the waiter wouldn't lose his job!!! Obviously he doesn't care about his job, if he did, bad day or not, he would slap on a smile and make sure his customers were satisfied! He passed us several times after that, still offered no apology, we paid the bill in full (65$) for a ruined lunch that we couldn't even enjoy because we were so shocked at the way we were being treated we couldn't relax and conversation! Keep in mind my friend drove an hour and a half to have this lunch!!!!!We waited around an hour and half to talk to a manger, just to be sure they were aware of the lack of professionalism and plain common curtesy in thier restaurant. The manger informs us that she's "had several complaints about him and his attitude" and has "spoke to him several times about it" each time, "he just nods as if he knows it's not right". No write up? No suspension? After several complaints? Maybe that's why he does it them, because there are no repercussions! She tells us hopefully our next experience there isn't like that, Nagoya doesn't want to be represented that way, have a nice day! Being dissatisfied at her lack of concern, and lack of disciplinary action for such rudeness, and for impersonating a manager, we asked to speak with whoever was over her! The "owner" then comes out, says something in another language then says to the manger "Whatever give them 10$ back, nothing was wrong with their food and that's what they came here for!" The homepage speaks of how friendly you will be greeted and how they guarantee customer satisfaction, WHAT A JOKE! I have never felt so insulted, I'll be sure everyone I speak to knows about this uncaring, unconcerned, rude and inappropriate staff from the waiters all the way up the chain. read more
