I went back twice. Both times I got me a falafel pita. The first time it was good the second time it was lousy. I love falafel sandwiches so after hitting Valley View Cinemark for a movie I stopped in both times. Fresh fried falafel is the best. The longer it sits around the lousier it becomes. I don't know why you wouldn't fry up fresh falafel every time. I realize recently that every Falafel I liked was fresh fried before me. The ones I disliked were sitting around in a pan. read more

Love Naf Naf! Long overdue review as I've been here albeit infrequently every time I'm in the area since they opened. Their steak however way you get it--bowl wrap and now as an entree you pick two is awesome. Their basmati rice and cous cous which serves as a base are better then a couple of high end Indian restaurants in town at a fraction of the price. The baba and hummus are mouth watering good. We came here after reading many favorable reviews on Yelp! and were craving middle eastern food and something gluten free. The place is unsuspecting in a strip plaza and it basically looks like a middle eastern Chipotle, but the flavors were spot on. I have traveled to Egypt twice now, and no one has ever been able to match the falafel that I have had there. Naf Naf gets as close as humanly possible, which is saying a lot. Combined with their house garlic sauce, the flavors are unbelievably good. My husband got a pick 2 plate with shawarma and falafel and I had a 1/2 hummus 1/2 rice bowl with steak, sumac onions, cabbage and tahini. We got a side of falafel and an order of Naf fries which are really good if you dip them in the garlic sauce. The girls working the counter were knowledgeable and friendly and our meals were Made to order in a short amount of time. Everything we ordered cost $28. The reason for 3 stars: always on takeout the order has 1 error. So on my latest order instead of getting the chicken kebabs it was the falafel plate. Each time something new is missing or not as you asked on your order, which means you have to come inside and order...food is OK. Great food, good price and friendly staff. The hummus bowl with the chicken is very flavorful. They don't skimp on the portions but you still feel like you're eating healthy. You can see the chicken shawarma cooking on the vertical rotisserie and watch them bake the fresh pita bread. The sides they offer such as the chopper cucumber salad, cabbage and onions are good and they will give you double helpings if you want. I get everything and add the garlic sauce on top. The falafel is really crispy and not dry. It can get very busy at lunch time so if you are in a hurry you may want to wait for when you have a little more time. read more

Wow, this was a disappointment. I reviewed the comments here and thought I'd get a decent meal. It was barely edible. I bought the chicken shawarma with tahini sauce and cucumber salad on it. I added hummus and a pita with lentil soup. I asked for curbside delivery. When I arrived I notified them through the online ordering page that I had arrived. I could see all three employees chatting by the register, and two customers sitting and eating. 10 minutes later none of them came out with my food. I got up and rolled in and no one greeted me, so I raise my arm and waved at them and I told him that's my order sitting on the shelf. I took the bag left and went to the hotel. When I got to the hotel, I realized that my water was missing and there were two napkins and no spoons for a $25 order. I even gave them a 15%tip... Usually when you give a tip at least give you napkins. I walked down the three flights from my hotel room to my car and drove back. My water was sitting on the counter and they were still talking no one greeted me. The two customers that were sitting there had gone and two more were thinking about ordering. I should've warmed them... But I had not yet tasted the food. The chicken Shawarma was cold and soggy, flavorless, and fell apart after two bites. The hummus was equally flavorless and the extra pita I ordered was cold and not completely cooked through. The lentil soup tasted like a bowl of MSG. The cloying flavor lasted long after I tasted it. The website clearly states that they make the soup from scratch every day. I don't know where they're scratching but they need to stop. Lentil soup is not hard. You can make bad lentil soup and it's still delicious. Their soup is not delicious, not from scratch and not good. I will never go back to this place. You should not go to this place. The inside of this restaurant very clean and spacious if you want to dine in . They are also on the Doordash platform if you want delivery , they do catering as well. I've been here twice so far, on its opening week and another time with my siblings. Both times were good and we all liked it! It's nice to see some variety in this area besides sandwiches and its good if you wanted to try middle eastern food other than Aladdin's in the area. When you stand in line to order your food, you'll see the workers making pita bread and it goes through a conveyor belt and you get to watch the pita bread puff up so that's pretty cool to watch too! I tried the steak shawarma pita and fries the first time and the steak shawarma rice bowl + pita another time, and both portions were pretty filling (I thought the bowl was more filling since the bowl also comes with a soft and fluffy pita). The fries were more like fried slices of homemade chips but were good. I also appreciate that compared to other fast food places in the area that this place is not as salty but is very flavorful, and a majority of the food that is served is veggies. I feel healthier eating here and I don't have that greasy feeling that you get from eating fast food so that's a bonus! When you get to the register they have an assortment of baklava and other sweets they sell that I didn't try yet but look good if you are interested! I wish they had more choices of middle eastern food like kafta, shish kabobs or grape leaves but it is a good place to go if you are looking to try something new or if you are new to middle eastern food! read more

Great find in the Independence area. The set-up reminds me of Chipotle. My fam and I had our pre-movie dinner here. The hubby got chicken shawarma wrap and I had a couscous beef shawarma bowl! Yep, you read it right; they have couscous! We got pita for the kids---the best pita in town for my picky 6-yr. old. The menu also has vegetarian options. Didn't get to try the chicken, but the hubs said it was good. The beef shawarma flavors were alright; I think the seasonings were developed for a more American-friendly palate. Finally! Usually I think most places are over hyped and disappointing, but Naf Naf did not let me down! I got a chicken shawarma bowl with rice, many veggies, 2 falafels, and a bunch of different sauces and hummus. It was all so good! I was sure I would regret paying extra for falafel, but it was great. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The only criticism I have is that the food was lukewarm bordering on cold. We were looking for a quick place to eat in Independence before seeing a movie. I kept seeing this place when I drove by and we don't have one where we live so I suggested we check them out. They are a fast casual lebanese restaurant where you build your own bowl or wrap. The restaurant is clean and welcoming and the menu is small but has a good variety. I ordered the steak bowl with rice, cabbage, cucumber and tomato salad, tabouli, and the tangy sauce. I really enjoyed it and the quality of the steak was very good. My boyfriend got the chicken and said it was a little dry but we both agreed the tangy sauce was the way to go. We ordered some falafal as well but I wasn't too impressed. I thought it lacked flavor and needed a dipping sauce to go with it. I will come back here again to try other things for sure. read more

It's not fine dining; more fast-casual like Chipotle. The food is actually on the healthier side, which we appreciate, and is very tasty! You first pick if you want a bowl or a wrap, and pick a base. So you can pick lettuce, hummus, saffron yellow rice, or couscous. Next is your protein, which is falafel, beef or chicken shawarma. They have actual meat spits for the shawarma, which is the correct way to cook the meat for this style. This is followed by choosing your topping(s), which include pickles, onions with ground sumac (something you don't see at a lot of places!), cabbage, cucumber and tomato mix, and a variety of sauces. I especially love their orange colored tart mango sauce-a little tart and a little spicy! It's very clean inside, and the people behind the counter have always been very friendly. This place is clean! When you walk in the staff are friendly and help you with the menu if needed. There is a lot of different types of seating IE high chair. Booth and regular chair seating. The space is filled with sun, so lots of windows. There is also outdoor seating. BACK to the food. It's why you're really reading. It is made kind of buffet style like chipotle but I think the food here is WAYYYY better. When I first tried Naf Naf Grill about a year ago I was so surprised how my bowl was full and I couldn't finish at one seating. The toppings are original, middle eastern right on deliciousness. This is definitely Chipotle of Middle Eastern cuisine. The prices for a steak bowl with hummus bowl is $9.85, it comes with a pita bread on the side. My favorite toppings pickles, onions and red cabbage. I finish with their garlic yogurt sauce and a little bit their red hot sauce. They have option of falafel and chicken as well, or you can do a rice bowl if you would like. I have tried their falafel since it sits on their warmers they are a little bit dried out to my taste. However chicken is flavorful with middle eastern seasonings so it definitely compliments to bowl. You can also Naf it up and get a Naf Naf fries which are delicious. They have an app so download it! WOW! This place was so good that I had to call (I did a take out order) mid meal and tell them how amazing the food was. Both hubby and I got the chicken basmati rice bowl, mine included the onions. I got a side of the S'khug (green hot sauce) and garlic sauce, side of pita. He got a pita too, along with the naf fries, which was too much food, next time we will skip. The pita is oh so soft I mixed the S'khug and garlic sauce into my bowl and it was out of this world. I know we will be back, try new sauces and meats. Why is this place so stink delicious! The chicken shwarma from here keeps having me come back for more! It definitely satisfies my cravings and isn't as good as some places I've been to in Chicago but it's darn close to it! The chicken isn't dry like some places I've been to for their chicken shwarma. It has a nice amount of seasoning to it and goes perfectly with whatever sauce you decide to add to your entree. I love their garlic sauce on the side so it's easier for me to make sure I have a taste of it in every bite. They also had baklava available to be purchased which was so delicious!! It was very very sweet and rich in flavor and had just enough crunch with the nuts and puff pastry. This place is the Chipotle of middle eastern food. Atmosphere: very very bright. Fluorescent light paradise. I like the color scheme though, and the layout was fine. Service: fast, friendly. No complaints here. Food: my friend and I ordered hummus, fries, and falafel balls. The beverage options were fountain drinks, and a few bottles choices. Not a fountain drink fan, I stuck to water. The fries are more like fried potato chips, which were very tasty. I was surprised at the cut, defiantly not what I was expecting. The hummus was good, but the real winner were the falafel balls. This is probably the best Mediterranean inspired quick place ever!! I've gone twice at this point and the only reason I don't frequent it on a weekly basis is the drive there. Let's just discuss the different options. It's set up similar to a chipotle. You have your base choice of rice, couscous, or hummus. I've done both the rice and hummus bowl. Their falafel is beyond amazing, better than any Mediterranean restaurant in town, in my opinion. The rice is also superb. Both times I crafted my bowls slightly different and was super satisfied both times. Also I would absolutely recommend to "Naf it up" and add the bomb "fries". They look like chips but have the consistency of a French fry. Seriously awesome! Everything is super fresh tasting and so delicious. My only negative, which is hardly anything, is the fact that the Independence location seems to be the only one in Northeast Ohio! I need more Naf Naf!! read more

Naf Naf was pretty darned tasty! I ordered the steak shawarma bowl with rice, onions, pickles and the zesty harisa sauce, a pita on the side, a side of the fries and a piece of baklava. The main dish was delicious! The beef was tender and flavorful on its own, as were the onions. The pickles were also tasty, and reminiscent of Tony Packo's pickles in Toledo: spicy-sour-crunchy goodness. The pita was ok. Missing something, but I can't figure out what. Too fluffy, closer to Wonder Bread than an authentic pita...but if you want authentic, why are you here? The fries are..well...fries. Nothing special about them, and probably would skip them in the future. The staff was friendly and helpful with first-timers, but I would recommend checking out the menu online BEFORE coming in, as some of the ingredients are going to be unfamiliar, and the line/menu location kind of makes no sense. Is it authentic middle eastern cuisine? No. It's as authentic middle eastern as Chipotle is Mexican. But is it good? Absolutely! Can't wait for one to open closer to West Park! read more

I've been in twice since they opened, and I think the food is delicious. I had good service on both visits as well. The one drawback logistically is the sign/menu placement. The descriptions of the sauces are around the corner where you cannot see them while ordering. I am not sure what good that does anyone. I would rather see the menu with prices first, if anything, so I can start to narrow down my selections before the food comes into view. I will probably be back, and would give 4 stars if it were a little cheaper. $7+ for a pita, and and extra $3 for a side and drink just seems out of line with the prices at other fast-casual places in this area. read more

I went there today for the preview opening, free pita, "fries" and a drink. When I got there the line wasn't too bad. They had someone passing out Falafal in a cup and handing out t-shirts and sunglasses. They also had a DJ playing. Those were nice touches and the DJ let me practice my youtube-learned dance moves, so that was cool. Inside the place has a clean, modern decor. stainless steel tables and steel and red chairs. The idea is to order your style (pita or bowl) then fill it with meat/falafel and other goodness. Since today was a preview, it was Pita only. Typically I'd opt for the bowl (gotta keep the carb intake down to maintain my stunning physique) but free overrides carb limit so... My pita was filled with hummus, Chicken Shawarma, chopped salad, sumac onions, and S'khug, which is the less spicy of the two spicy sauces. The Pita itself was warm and soft. You can see them making them as you come in, which is cool. You get a good amount of what you choose. The Pita was good and the S'khug sauce was spicy but not too bad. Everything tasted fresh. I will say that because I got the Pita, there was a bit of a layering effect, so It wasn't until I was halfway done before I got any of the hummus. The fries are actually homemade potato chips. I liked them. They were fresh and had a good mix between crunchy and flexy chips. They were not heavily salted and was a nice contrast to the pita itself. It almost had a sorbet effect, albeit a warmer, much more potatoey sorbet. This is in the same strip mall as Melt, so parking is a pain. Remember there is parking behind the building also, as well as a rear entrance (hehe) to Naf Naf. I thought the meal was good and filling, and they did a good job making the opening day fun.
