Considering there isn't much else at Myrtle Beach Airport we usually end up here. The food isn't bad and the drinks are usually pretty strong, but the prices are a little bit much. I wish I could give an actual review, but I can't. My wife and I were at the airport for a 6 hour layover this past weekend. About an hour and a half before our flight left, we wanted a snack, and upon checking Nacho Hippo's menu, thought that their chips with salsa/queso would be perfect. As soon as we went through the door, we were seated near the bar at a two top high table. The restaurant was probably at about 60% capacity; it definitely was not packed. We sat at this table for 10-15 minutes without being approached once...not even for a drink let alone an order. During the time we were sitting at the table, three different waitresses passed us and looked at us while doing nothing. We also witnessed a group or servers just chatting at the drink stand next to the bar while we were seated. After the aforementioned 10-15 minutes, we got up and left. Sad, because I was excited to try this place. Oh well. I'll stick to the airport's Subway or Steak and Shake, because they seem to understand customer service. read more

Tasty nachos! At our recent visit, we had the tree huggers nachos. The shareable size was more than enough for 1 adult and three kids. So that's one reason we think this restaurant is a great value! My mom had a burger and said it was good. It's nice to visit this place in warm weather when the walls are up and it's basically an open-air dining experience. read more

Went to Nacho Hippo in North Myrtle Beach and really had a good time, good food and good service so when having time to spare at the airport this seemed like a great idea. WRONG! We asked if they had the bucket drinks and were told no. After settling on beers we looked at the flip book on the table and listed were the very drinks in 40 ounce glasses we asked about. He could have said they had them but not in a bucket to keep. We just wanted the drink anyway. We ordered nachos your way, meat and cheese only. When they came out with queso on them and we pointed it out, he said queso is cheese. Then maybe it should not be listed as a seperate item on a make your own menu and it should be labeled as when you order cheese you get this xxx. So lesson learned that not all are alike. Will reserve our Nacho Hippo for North Myrtle next time we come into town. read more

Stopped in this joint for a drink and snack to share with my daughter. Ordered the house margarita and a chicken and cheese quesadilla. I received our drinks in a reasonable amount of time, but never saw my server Shaq after that! Being as most guests are waiting to catch a flight you'd think the staff would be more efficient. My quesadilla order was wrong. No chicken! Just cheese and very small. Not what I'd expect for $9. Nonetheless I did want to order another drink before my flight and had to flag Shaq down. After I ordered a drink, gave her my credit card, and requested the check she just placed both on the table without saying a word. Not a "thank you" or "have a good day". Fun little place to eat right off the airplane. $3 margaritas all day every day can't be beat. We got the "bleep hole" nachos--jerk chicken, cilantro mango salsa, black beans, and pico. Ask for sour cream and fresh jalapeños to liven up the spice a bit. Parking was free at this location. You could easily share a nacho plate with another person and each have a margarita--all for under $20. This would be a good place for a late snack, watching a game, or a "post long flight meal" like us! Give her a whirl! read more

My boyfriend and I stopped here before our flight back home and we thought the food was average. The service was fast, which was good given the fact that everyone was trying to grab a quick bite to eat before they boarded their flights. The food was a little overpriced in our opinion but then again, we were in an airport and they are, unfortunately, able to get away with more inflation. The guacamole was good, but you could really take the lime in it (which is used to preserve freshness) so I wondered how fresh it actually was. Not great, disappointing. On 10/18/19 I ordered the Nacho Hippo Salad with blackened chicken, a favorite for years. I received a salad with a very thin layer of shredded, mushy, non-blackened chicken on it. It was tasteless, not filling, and less chicken than at past visits. R u trying to get rid of customers? The problem with not having options for another sit down restaurant at the airport terminal is no competition. I think the staff knows and just does the minimum, sales building is not the priority. Spend your money or don't doesn't matter to them. The food was good I had a pulled pork taco. However, all the servers seem to be more concerned with their side work than serving customers. Sorry I am bothering them to spend money but my flight is delayed and I don't want to eat at midnight when I finally get to my destination. How do I start? Service meh. So slow, but luckily we were at the airport early and did not miss our flight. Food? It happened. Sausage was bone dry, English muffin was acceptable, but not prebuttered (and for the time it took to get to us you would have thought they had to build the kitchen from scratch). Omelet was OK, but they definitely just used last nights fajita vegetables as the filling. We ate here due to our flight being delayed & were very surprised at how good it was. My husband got the cheeseburger and fries as hes not big on mexican-type food. Everything was hot, fries were crispy on the outside & he said it was one of the best burgers he had in a long time. I got quesadillas with chicken and they were delicious. Terrible food. Don't waste your time or money. Guacamole is clearly not made fresh. The salsa is a pale pink color and smells like ketchup (also not fresh, clearly bought, over processed, and shipped in from somewhere. My husband had a mushroom quesadilla with chicken. It had 5 mushrooms inside and more squash and chicken inside. The cheese and chicken were lacking flavor and zest. Very hard to choke down. I had the veggie tacos. Just vegetables with no seasoning. Pre processed tortillas were a huge let down. I think the waitress hates her job. Doesn't smile and looks annoyed when questions are asked. In the bathroom there is a sign that says they are trying to go green and only use blowers to dry your hands to reduce waste in landfills but.....when dinner arrives they give you plastic (yes I said plastic wear to eat your meal. Does this confuse you? It confuses me. The only thing I recommend at this place are the chips otherwise I'd give this place zero stars. read more
